AP Summer Assignment
• You have been provided the AP Summer Assignment.
I promise, it’s not too bad
• This is a REQUIRED ASSIGNMENT that is DUE upon our return to school on August 31st, 2020. This DUE date is in effect for in-school classes and/or Distance Learning classes.
• The AP Summer Assignment will be a graded assignment that has a point value of 120 points.
Checklist:
• Items to be completed:
• 1. Print out the Summer Assignment Packet that was provided.
• 2. Watch the video link that has been provided in the Welcome Letter.
• 3. READ the instructions at the top of each page if provided.
• 4. Complete the labeling of each set of maps provided.
• 5. When completing the “bucket list items”, please put some thought into it rather than listing the items that appear online for the top places to visit Thank you
• 6. You will have Map Quizzes based on the AP Summer Packet when school starts. Quizzes will be announced one week in advance so you will have time to prepare.
Materials you will need for the assignment:
• You will need the following items for the AP Summer Assignment:
• 1. Print the AP Summer Assignment Map Package
• 2. Colored Pencils or Markers will be needed (in my experience, colored pencils are easier to use and you can read your labeling better)
• 3. A 3 Ring Binder for your maps and for class.
Maps:
• You will be provided a series of maps to label.
• There are two (2) types of maps provided, Physical and Political.
• Physical Maps are maps that include physical features such as mountain ranges, rivers, lakes, and other physical features.
• Political Maps are maps that include capitals and countries.
Africa
• It is important to READ the directions on each page-
• Page #2 will provide items for you to label on the Political Map of Africa.
• Page # 3 will provide the items that need to be labeled for the physical map of Africa.
• Page 4 = Blank Political Map of Africa
• Page 5= Blank Physical Map of Africa
• Pages 6 & 7= Bucket List pages for Africa
South America
Please read the instructions on each page before beginning the assignment.
Page 8 contains the items that you will need to label on the Political Map of South America.
Page 9 has the items that need to be labeled on the Physical Map of South America
Page 10=Blank Political Map of South America
Page 11= Blank Physical Map of South America
Pages 12 &13= The South America Bucket List pages to be completed.
Asia
• Always READ the instructions at the top of each page
• Page 14 has the items that will need to be labeled on the Political Map of Asia. (yes, there are a lot of locations)
• Page 15 contains the items that will need to be labeled on the Physical Map of Asia.
• Page 16= Blank Political Map of Asia
• Page 17= Blank Physical Map of Asia
• Pages 18 & 19= The Asia Continent Bucket List for completion
Europe
• Please READ the instructions at the top of EACH page-
• Page 20 provides the places that need to be labeled on the blank Europe Political map.
• Page 21 has the physical features that need to be labeled on the blank Physical map.
• Page 22= Blank Political Map of Europe

North America

• Please see the instructions at the top of EACH PAGE
• Page 32 has the list of items that need to be labeled on the blank Political Map of Australia/Oceania. (This one can be a little tricky with the little islands- you may need to draw one or two in with the approximate location)
• Page 33 is the list of features to be labeled on the Physical Map of Australia/Oceania.
