Make Artworks

• Make 2 more finished pieces. Review the work you have done this past year. Choose your favorite works and create 2 more using a similar idea, technique or concept.

Find a Mentor Artist.

Visit museums, galleries or public art and choose an artist to study as your mentor. If this is a contemporary artist, then contact that artist. Make a journal page about your artist mentor. Include photos and reflections.

Take 15 selfies.

Collect the selfies so you can turn those in when school begins.

Work in your journal: • Earliest Art Experience, 1 page reflecting on the moment you realized that art/photo was important to you.

Explain how you have seen yourself grow as an artist over the years. What are your particular strengths/weaknesses? What are your goals and how do you anticipate achieving them?

• 15 Drawings in ball point pen across 5 pages, overlap drawings or create new scenarios. Just draw. Sit down and leave the world behind. Enjoy the experience. Set a timer, draw for at least 10 minutes. You are working on increasing your observation skills and your compositional skills.

Techniques Journal Assignment Objective:

Use the techniques page to create 5 technique pages. Have fun designing the space.
