4º Seminário Internacional CPT Túneis. Da exploração ao projectoA Comissão Portuguesa de Túneis e do Espaço Subterrâneo (CPT) da Sociedade Portuguesa de Geotecnia (SPG) e o Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia (LNEC) promovem o 4º Seminário Internacional sob o lema “Túneis. Da Exploração ao Projecto” que terá lugar no Centro de Congressos do LNEC em 4 e 5 de Fevereiro de 2016.
O seminário tem o patrocínio da International Tunneling and Underground Space Association (ITA-AITES), cujo Comité Executivo honra a comunidade portuguesa com a sua presença no evento e com a realização da sua reunião oficial em Lisboa, em 6 e 7 de Fevereiro.
O lema do seminário reflecte a situação nacional no que respeita às obras subterrâneas, isto é, a diminuição drástica do volume adjudicado de obras novas nos anos recentes e a crescente consciencialização da importância da manutenção e da reabilitação no sucesso técnico e financeiro do seu ciclo de vida, potencialmente mais longo que o das obras expostas aos agentes atmosféricos.
Neste âmbito, a adopção de tecnologias emergentes em materiais, métodos e equipamentos, no planeamento e na gestão da operação e das intervenções tem revolucionado esta área de actividade, pelo que o Seminário terá uma significativa incidência nestes domínios.
Por outro lado, as empresas nacionais de obras subterrâneas têm conseguido abrir e manter mercados no estrangeiro, onde também a boa gestão técnica e financeira do ciclo de vida das obras pode constituir um factor de discriminação positiva. Torna-se, para tal, necessário reverter para o planeamento e projecto a experiência acumulada em décadas de exploração das obras subterrâneas.
Assim, o 4º Seminário Internacional da CPT versa a problemática da Exploração e da Manutenção e Reabilitação visando facilitar a sua consideração no decurso da Concepção, do Projecto e Execução das obras. Pode dizer-se serem estes os temas basilares para o sucesso de qualquer empreendimento no espaço subterrâneo.
O painel de 16 conferencistas e de 15 palestrantes, nacionais e estrangeiros, especialistas dos domínios referidos, é o garante de um evento extraordinariamente apelativo e promissor. Independentemente da experiência individual, cada participante encontrará motivos diversos de interesse capazes de prender a atenção da assistência ao longo das oito sessões temáticas.
A CPT pretende repetir neste evento o elevado padrão de qualidade alcançado nos eventos organizados ao longo dos quase dez anos de existência. Esperamos contar com a participação numerosa dos técnicos envolvidos em obras subterrâneas, dos estudantes e, especialmente, dos membros da CPT.
4th CPT International Seminar Tunnels. From operation back to designThe Portuguese Commission on Tunneling and Underground Space (CPT) of the Portuguese Geotechnical Society (SPG) and the National Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LNEC) organize the 4th International Seminar with the lemma “Tunnels. From operation back to design”. The venue is the Congress Center of the National Laboratory for Civil Engineering on February, 4 and 5, 2016.
The Seminar is endorsed by the International Tunneling and Underground Space Association (ITA-AITES), whose Executive Committee honors the Portuguese community with its presence at the event and with an official meeting at Lisboa, on the following weekend.
The lemma of the Seminar descends from the Portuguese current situation concerning underground works, which is twofold.
The first aspect is the drastic decrease of the volume of awarded construction contracts and the growing concern with the implementation of maintenance and refurbishment tasks. It is well known that the latter are key factors of the technical and financial success of the life span of underground works, potentially longer than the structures at ground surface. The adoption of emerging technologies on construction materials, methods and equipment in the planning and management of exploration and maintenance is revolutionizing this field of activity.
Complementarily, the Portuguese underground works contractors and consultancy companies are managing to explore and preserve business opportunities abroad, where good financial and technical management during the life span embodies a positive selection factor on tender processes.
Consequently, the 4th International Seminar addresses the Operation and Maintenance and Refurbishment aiming at enabling their consideration in Planning, Design and Construction. These, it may be said, are the underpinnings to the success of any underground project.
The group of 16 lecturers and 15 speakers, experts on at least one of the aforesaid subjects, is a guarantee of an extremely appealing and promising event.
CPT envisages renewing its reputed high standard of organization built since its very beginning 10 years ago. We hope to welcome numerous participants, both CPT affiliates and professionals of underground engineering or students.
