Dear North Edmonton Residents,
Aponia Dental has been undergoing significant number of renovations so that we could improve our ability to communicate with current and new patients through having private consult rooms and better e-mail infrastructure. Our hope is to have a better patient experience that maximizes our ability to communicate with patients.
A new direction that we have been taking is selecting dental treatments that are “designed with you in mind.”
We current provide the familiar orthodontic treatment with the brackets placed on the outside surface of the teeth; however, we now offer orthodontic treatment on the inside (tongue) side of the teeth called 3M™ Incognito™. The 3M™ Incognito™ is specifically designed for the 28-45 year old power professional who doesn’t want their colleagues to see they are undergoing orthodontic treatment.
We are looking forward to serving you in 2014 with our renovated administration area and further refining our product offerings.

If your teeth are currently yellow, dull, stained or shaded unevenly, or if you have any old dental work that doesn’t match your natural teeth any more, you’ll be pleased to find out how easy it is to solve those very common imperfections. Even crooked teeth can be straightened more easily and less noticeably than ever before!
Whitening your teeth is one of the easiest and most satisfying changes you can achieve. All it takes is a visit to our office to start the whole process, which will begin with an analysis of your teeth and gums to ensure that you have a healthy mouth, and a discussion on what you should expect from your tooth-whitening program.
Bonded & Lingual Braces Now Available For Low-Complication & Non-Surgical Cases
If your teeth are not as straight as you’d like, please ask us about 3M™ Incognito™ Hidden Braces – a discreet way to correct crooked teeth – with no visible metal wires! Our practice offers lingual braces, where brackets and wires are secured to the inside – or lingual side – of your teeth, leaving no outward evidence of an orthodontic appliance when you smile!
Remember, research has shown that you have less than ten seconds to make a good first impression on anyone you’re meeting for the first time. 3M™ Incognito™ Hidden Braces are for the 28-45 year old Power Professional who wants to straighten their smile discreetly. This product was designed with you in mind!
Please call us today to ask about teeth whitening, lingual braces, veneers and all our other smile improvement options, to ensure that your first impression is your best impression!
Each new year brings with it the promise of renewal and improvement in our lives. Why not greet 2014 with a sparkling white smile to match the bright new year?
A NEW YEAR, A NEW YOU!

JANUARY 2014
The Aponia Dental Team!
According to the Canadian Paediatric Society, dental health can affect the functional,
psychological and social dimensions of a child’s well-being. Oral pain has devastating
effects on children, including lost sleep, poor growth, behavioural problems and poor
learning. Developmentally crucial processes of communication, socialization and self-esteem are also affected by poor dental health. Dental
problems are associated with a substantial reduction in school attendance and in parental
working days.
Approximately 40 million
school hours were missed annually by
school-aged children due to a dental
problem or visit.**According to Health Canada
A reminder to please call our office at (780) 944-1999 to schedule an appointment for your professional cleaning and dental exam.
My teeth don’t hurt and I brush my teethevery day. Why do I need a dental exam?
If you wait until your teeth are hurting, to have a dental exam, you have waited too long. Manydental conditions, including tooth decay and
periodontal disease, often don’t give you pain untilthey are in an advanced stage. By maintaining a
regular dental exam, your dentist can identifyearly signs of tooth decay, oral cancer, periodontal
disease, and changes to overall health. Thisearly detection can save you time, money, and the
health of your teeth and gums.

Professional Hygiene is a bonus for healthy teeth and gums!
The dental hygienist is the primary member of the dental team that focuses on disease prevention.
Health promotion, wellness, and risk assessment are key components of the curricula of dental hygiene programs. A dental hygienist performs a variety of assessments during the provision of patient care.
Information, signs and symptoms from the patient’s medical and dental history and the extra- and intraoral
assessments provide data to allow the dental hygienist to determine the patient’s risk for disease such as oral
cancers, dental caries, and periodontal disease.
