Jesus revealed to Saint Faustina from 1931 to 1938, a few years before the Second World War, and many souls received graces of conversion and strength when they venerate the Image of Merciful Jesus, which rapidly spread throughout Poland, and then Europe and the world.

The man needs God, and God in His love, comes out to meet him pouring the rays of Mercy. The man of today needs to hear that there is hope; That God in His mercy wants everyone to be saved, but the only condition is the change of heart; to admit the sins and with a deep repentance back to God and keep away from devil.

The essence of the devotion to the Divine Mercy is the confident attitude toward God and love to your neighbor. The Lord Jesus calls His creatures to trust in Him. "I desire trust from my creatures…(Diary, 1059) and do works of mercy: Through theirs acts, words and prayer… "You must show mercy to your neighbors always and everywhere. You cannot stop, nor excuse or justify” (Diary, 742).

The image of Merciful Jesus shows the resurrected Savior that brings peace to humanity through the forgiveness of sins, at the price of his passion and death on the cross.

The rays of blood and water emerging from the Heart (invisible in the image) pierced by the lance and the marks of the nails recall events of Good Friday.

The Divine Mercy has as primary aim to reach the hearts of every person to know that God is merciful and loves us all and that the bigger is the sinner, the greater is the right of merciful, so, no soul should be afraid to approach Him

The forms of cult of Divine Mercy are: The Image of Merciful Jesus, the Feast of the Divine Mercy, The Chaplet of Divine Mercy, The Hour of Mercy and Mercy Proclaim.

SAINT FAUSTINE

Sister Maria Faustina is best known in the world as the apostle of the Divine Mercy. She was born on August 25, 1905 in Glogowiec in Poland, (close to a small village called Lodz) into a poor and religious family of peasants. She was baptized with the name Helena Kowalska in the parish Church of Swinice Warckie. Helena was the third of ten children, and from a very tender age she stood out because of her love of prayer, work, obedience, and her sensitivity to the poor. Since the first years of her life she felt the desire to belong to God completely. At the age of nine she made her first Holy Communion, living this moment very profoundly in her awareness of the presence of the Divine Guest within her soul. She attended school for two years only. At the age of fourteen she left home in order to find the means of supporting herself and helping her parents.Helena Kowalska was called to religious life during a vision that she had of the Suffering Christ. Responding to the grace of God, on August 1, 1925 she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in Warsaw, Poland. Helena took the name of Sister Maria Faustina of the Most Holy Sacrament. She lived in this congregation for thirteen years, as well as in several religious houses. She spent time in Kraków, Plock, and Vilnius, where she worked as a cook, a gardener and a porter. In the humble situation she was living she experienced several deep mystical experiences, which she kept hidden even from her closest fellow nuns. Nothing on the exterior revealed her rich mystical interior life.

Page 4: Apostolate jdm3

In 1934, Sister Faustina began to write her Diary with Jesus’ revelations to her, in obedience to her spiritual director, Father Michael Sopocko. Sister Faustina’s diary is the principal testimony we have from her, where she recorded in detail the messages that Jesus gave her regarding his inexhaustible mercy to the whole mankind. In it is revealed her profound spiritual life, her struggle to perfection, and God’s predilection toward her. She received the gifts of contemplation, frequent visions of Jesus Christ, apparitions of the Blessed Virgin, Jesus’ revelations, stigmata, the gift of prophecy, readings of human souls, the rare gift of mystical engagement, and marriage….however, she did not give any importance to these as she was very humble.

Saint Maria Faustina accepted the invitation of Jesus as the apostle and “secretary” of His Mercy, so that she could tell the world about his great message of the Mercy of God: "In the Old Covenant", He said to her, "I sent prophets wielding hunderbolts to my people. Today I am sending you with my mercy to the people of the whole world. I do not want to punish aching mankind, but I desire to heal it, pressing it to my merciful Heart"(Diary 1588). "You are the secretary of My mercy. I have chosen you for that office in this life and the next life"(Diary, 1605) (…)to make known to souls the great mercy that I have for them, and to exhort them to trust in the bottomless depth of My mercy” (Diary, 1567). ”Mankind will not have peace until it turns with trust to my Mercy”(Diary, 300).

Page 5: Apostolate jdm3

The mission of Saint Faustina consisted in three main tasks :

1. Reminding the world of the truth of our faith, revealed in the Holy Scripture about the Merciful Love of God towards every human being;

2. Propagating God’s Mercy for the whole world and especially for sinners, through the practice of new forms of devotion to the Divine Mercy, presented by the Lord Jesus such as: the veneration of the Image of the Divine Mercy with the inscription: "Jesus, I trust in you " ; the Feast of the Divine Mercy celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter ; the Chaplet to the Divine Mercy and the prayer at the Hour of Mercy (3 p.m. ) Our Lord Jesus attached great promises to the above forms of devotions, provided one entrusted one's life to God and practised active love of neighbour. Each soul is to put his complete trust in God.

3. Initiating the Apostolic Movement of the Divine Mercy, whose task is to proclaim and entreat God's mercy for the world, and to strive for Christian perfection, following the precepts of Sister Maria Faustina.Sister Faustina, consumed by tuberculosis and innumerable sufferings which she accepted as a voluntary sacrifice for sinners, died in Krakow at the age of 33 on October 5, 1938. Pope John Paul II beatified Sr. Faustina on April 18, 1993, and canonized her on April 30, 2000. She became the first Saint of the second millennium.

“Saint Faustina, you told us that your mission would continue after your death and that you would not forget us “(Diary, 281, 1582).

LA IMAGEN DE JESUS MISERICORDIOSO.

Page 8: Apostolate jdm3

The Image of the Lord of Divine Mercy was painted by Jesus' own orders given to Sister Faustina on February 22, 1931 in Plock (Poland): "In the evening, when I was in my cell, I saw the Lord Jesus clothed in a white garment. One hand [was] raised in the gesture of blessing, the other was touching the garment at the breast. From beneath the garment, slightly drawn aside at the breast, there were emanating two large rays, one red, the other pale. In silence I kept my gaze fixed on the Lord; my soul was struck with awe, but also with great joy. After a while, Jesus said to me": "Paint an image according to the pattern you see, with the signature: Jesus, I trust in You. I desire that this image be venerated, first in your chapel, and [then] throughout the world ".(Diary 47)

"I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I also promise victory over its enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death. I myself will defend it as My own glory” (Diary 48)

"I want that this image be painted with a paintbrush, and be solemnly blessed on the first Sunday after EASTER; that Sunday should be named the Feast of the Divine Mercy “(Diary, 49);

"By means of this Image I shall be granting many graces to souls; so let every soul have access to it" (Diary, 570)

"The two rays signify Blood and Water", Jesus explained to Saint Faustina:" The pale ray stands for the Water which makes souls righteous. The red ray stands for the Blood which is the life of souls. These two rays issued forth from the very depths of My tender Mercy when My agonized heart was opened by a lance on the Cross. These rays shield souls from the wrath of My Father. Happy is the one who dwells in their shelter, for the just hand of God shall not lay hold of him" (Diary 299).

Page 9: Apostolate jdm3

One of the soldiers pierced the side of Jesus with a spear, and instantly Blood and Water gushed out. These are the rays of God’s Mercy that are very precious. Jesus revealed that the red ray signifies the last drop of Divine Blood and the white ray signifies a drop of baptismal Water. Both rays also represent the two Sacraments given to us by our Holy Mother Church: the white ray signifies the Sacrament of Penance, and the red ray represents the Eucharist in the Holy Communion. Thus, the two rays in the image of Divine Mercy invite us to frequently participate in the Sacraments which give us strength to discern between good and evil, and help us resist numerous temptations in this world. God is a loving and merciful Father who is always ready to forgive us, his children, all our sins, whenever we go to meet Him in the confessional, with a sincerely repentant heart.

Jesus told Saint Faustina: "I am offering souls a vessel with which they are to keep coming for graces to the fountain of mercy. That vessel is this image with the signature: “Jesus, I trust in You” (Diary 327). "By means of this image I shall grant many graces to souls. It is to be a reminder of the demands of My mercy, because even the strongest faith is of no avail without works. (Diary742). The painting of the Merciful Jesus painted by Eugenio Kazimirowski, in cooperation with Saint Faustina, was approved for our Lord Jesus: " Not in the beauty of the color, nor of the brush, lies the greatness of this image, but in My grace" (Diary313). In fact, the darkness of the background represents the darkness in the absence of grace. Jesus is the Light.

During the World War Two, the painting remained providentially hidden in a Convent in Poland. If the Image had been exposed, it could have been destroyed due to the Russian occupation and the persecution of the Catholics.

Page 10: Apostolate jdm3

Another image of Jesus of the Divine Mercy had been painted in 1944 by a painter named Adolfo Hyla. He made it as a votive offering of gratitude for the rescue of his family during an accident in the Second World War. The artist of this second painting was inspired by the description of Saint Faustina, but completed it according to his own style and ideas. His painting was consecrated and placed in the chapel of the convent of Krakow, where it is venerated to date. Adolfo Hyla’s painting was instrumental in the spreading of the worship of the Divine Mercy.

The first painting, painted by Eugenio Kazimirowski, was called the "Holy Image" by the Pope John Paul II. It was miraculously saved from the ravages of the World War Two, and again arose to the light in 1993. A thorough conservation of this painting was carried out in 2003. Since 2005 it remains exposed in the central altar of the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Vilna, Lithuania (c/Dominikonu 12).

FEAST OF DIVINE MERCY

The Feast of the Divine Mercy was instituted by Pope John Paul II. After canonizing Saint Faustina on April 30, 2000, he declared the second Sunday of Easter (the Sunday that follows the Resurrection) as the "Sunday of the Divine Mercy".In his homily, he Pope pronounced the following words:

By instituting this Feast, the Pope concluded the task that Our Lord Jesus had assigned to Saint Faustina in Poland 69 years ago: In February of 1931 Jesus told her: "I desire that there be a Festival of My Mercy."

Page 11: Apostolate jdm3

Just as Jesus had desired it, this Feast is extolled with the plenary indulgence (complete forgiveness of sins and punishment): “The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. Do not let any soul be afraid to draw near to Me.” (Diary 699) "The miracle of the Divine Mercy restores that soul to all its fullness." (Diary 1448)

The Feast of the Divine Mercy is at the central place of the devotion to the Divine Mercy, as requested by Our Lord to Saint Faustina. The will of the Lord, with respect to the institution of this Feast, was declared in His first revelations to Saint Faustina. There were a total of fourteen revelations regarding this Feast. This Feast also marked the death of Pope John Paul II. Our Lord wanted to give great importance to our Pope in this Feast, emphasizing with it his departure to the eternal life. Pope John Paul II had been a faithful supporter and promoter of the Divine Mercy, both with his teaching and with his life. The Pope affirmed that "the Mercy is the only hope for the world", as Jesus had declared.

The Holy Father’s posthumous message , was read in his honor during the first Divine Mercy Sunday Mass in St Peter’s Square in Vatican City.

The main purpose of The Feast of the Divine Mercy is to instill the following message into the heart of each person: God is our Merciful Father and loves us all dearly. He told us: "the greater the sinner, the greater need he has of My mercy."(Diary 723) In this message, our Lord asks us to have full confidence in the Mercy of God, and tells us that we always need to be merciful with our neighbors in our words, actions and prayers... “because even the strongest faith is of no avail without works."(Diary 742)

Therefore, in order to celebrate this Feast appropriately, we need to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and the Novena to the Divine Mercy (start

Page 12: Apostolate jdm3

the Novena on Good Friday); go to confession (always preceded by a good examination of conscience), and receive the Holy Communion the day of the Feast of the Divine Mercy.

Karol Wojtyla, our late Pope John Paul ll, had spent his whole earthly life as the Servant of God, proclaiming the Divine Mercy. His life had been concluded in the Vigil of the Feast of this Mystery, which he had instituted. Pope John Paul ll was beatified by his successor, Pope Benedict XVI, on May 10, 2011, on the Feast of the Divine Mercy. Thanks to his Beatification, he will never cease to be a beautiful example of kindness of God towards men.

CHAPLET OF THE DIVINE MERCY

The Chaplet of the Divine Mercy was received by St. Maria Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun, through the visions she received from Jesus Christ in Vilna (Lithuania) between September 13 and 14 in 1935

Page 14: Apostolate jdm3

She recorded the instructions that Jesus Christ had dictated to her, in her diary. The chaplet is a supplication to appease God's anger for the sins of the whole world. The Divine Mercy Chaplet is an intercessory prayer, and its intentions are threefold: to obtain mercy, to trust in Christ's mercy and to show mercy to others. Jesus said to St. Faustina:

"Encourage souls to say the Chaplet which I have given you.....Whoever will recite it will receive great mercy at the hour of death.....When they say this Chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as the just Judge, but as the Merciful Savior.....Priests will recommend it to sinners as their last hope of salvation. Even if there were a sinner most hardened, if he were to recite this chaplet only once, he would receive grace from My infinite Mercy. I desire to grant unimaginable graces to those souls who trust in My Mercy.....Through the Chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you ask for is compatible with My Will." (687,1541,1731)

Jesus also said: “At the hour of death, I will defend as My own glory every soul that says this chaplet; or when others say it for a dying person, the indulgence is the same. When this chaplet is said by the bedside of a dying person, God’s anger is placated, and unfathomable mercy envelops the soul, and the very depths of My tender mercy will be moved for the sake of the sorrowful Passion of My Son.”(811)

Page 17: Apostolate jdm3

THE HOUR OF MERCY

Jesus calls it “The Hour of Mercy” at three o'clock, because it is the hour of His death.

"At three o'clock, implore My mercy, especially for sinners; and, only for a brief moment, submerge yourself in My Passion, particularly in My discouragement t at the moment of My agony. This is the great mercy hour for the whole world. I will allow you to come into My mortal sadness. In this hour, nothing will be denied to the soul that makes a request by the merits of My Passion... " (Diary, 1320)

“I remind you, My daughter, that any time you hear the clock at third, submerge yourself completely in My mercy, adoring and glorifying it; begs its omnipotence for the whole world, and particularly for poor sinners; because al that moment mercy was opened wide for every soul. In this hour you can obtain everything for yourself and for others; in this hour was established the grace for the whole world - mercy triumphed over justice." "My daughter, try to pray Stations of the Cross in this hour, once you allow your duties permit it; and if you can not pray the Stations of the Cross, at least comes into the chapel for a moment and adore, in the Blessed Sacrament, My Heart, which is full of mercy. And if you can not comes into the chapel submerge yourself in prayer wherever you are, only for a brief moment. I claim veneration for My mercy from every creature, but first you, because I have given you the most profound understanding of this mystery.” (Diary, 1572)

And Jesus said to me:

"I want you to know more deeply the love that burns in My Heart for

Page 18: Apostolate jdm3

souls, and you will understand this when you meditate My Passion. Invoke My mercy for sinners; I want their salvation. When you say this prayer, with a contrite heart and with faith for a sinner, I will give him the grace of conversion. This is the prayer:

"O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You.". (Diary 186, 187)

You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, encompasses the whole world and pours out you over us. (Diary 1319)

MERCY (to live the message)

“Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy”.

(Matthews 5:7)

The devotional practices revealed through Saint Faustina were given to us as "vessels of mercy" through which God's love can be poured out upon the world, but we must also show mercy to others. Put mercy into practice is not an option of the Divine Mercy Devotion; it's a requirement! …Jesus speaks strongly about this to Saint Faustina: “I demand from you actions of mercy which are to arise out of love for Me. You must show mercy to others always and everywhere. You cannot stop or excuse or absolve” (Diary, 742).

Our Lord himself proposes three ways to do mercy and He asks us thru St. Faustina: I give you three ways of doing mercy to others; the first one is actions, the second words and the third prayers. In this three forms is contained the fullness of mercy and that is an irrefutable testimony of love for Me. (Diary, 742).

Page 19: Apostolate jdm3

St. Faustina learned that when she was doing the devotional practices of mercy, who really was serving was Jesusmercy our savor: "Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the last of them, you did it to me" (Mt 25: 35-40).

The Apostolic Roman Catholic Church proposes us to practice the “The Corporal and spiritual Deeds of Mercy”.

The Corporal deeds of Mercy:

1.- To Feed the Hungry

2.- To Give Drink To The Thirsty

3.- To Clothe The Naked

4.- To Shelter The Homeless

5.- Visiting The Sick

6.- Visiting The Imprisoned

7.- To Bury The Dead

Page 20: Apostolate jdm3

The Spiritual deeds of Mercy:

1.- Admonish sinners

2.- Instruct the ignorant

3.- Counsel the doubtful

4.- Comfort the afflicted

5.- Patiently endure the mistakes of others

6.- Forgive offenses

7.- Pray for the living and the dead

One of the greatest mercy deeds we can do is to pray for the dying . To St. Faustina, this was an important aspect of her mission of mercy. : Jesus emphasized the importance: "...Pray, as much as you can, for the dying. By your entreaties, implores for them trust in My mercy, because they are the one who most need the confidence, those who have a little. You should know that the grace of eternal salvation for some souls in their final moment depends on you prayer.." (Diary, 1777)

In particular, Jesus recommend to Saint Faustina to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet to help the Dying. : “ I will defend as My own glory every soul that says this chaplet at the hour of death, or when others pray it beside a dying person, who will get the same forgiveness.”(Diary, 811).

Page 21: Apostolate jdm3

Alone with prayer for the Dying, another great deeds of Mercy is to Pray for the souls. Jesus encouraged to Saint Faustina to remember the souls who are in purgatory, “Come in purgatory often, because they need you there”(Diary, 1738).

Let’s make our Holy faustina's Words: “My Jesus, make my heart like Your merciful Heart. Jesus, help me to go through life doing good to everyone”(Diary 692) so, for increasingly mercy people, and there are a few who feel pity for the brother in misfortune are even less are those who wants to share with the less fortunate what God has generously gave them

TRUST IN THE DIVINE MERCY

The essence of the devotion to the Divine Mercy is the confidence and at the same time the condition to receiving grace! We must trust in the Mercy of the Lord!

Jesus through Saint Faustina tells us, "I want to give unimaginable grace to the souls that trust in My mercy. Let them approach to this sea of mercy with great trust. Sinners will obtain justification, and the righteous will be strengthened in good. Who have relied on My mercy will be filled with My divine peace at the hour of death" (Diary of St. Faustina, 1520).

“The graces of My mercy are taken with a single container and this one is confidence. The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive. The souls that trust without limits are My great consolation, and they pour all the treasures of My graces. I am glad when you request a lot, because I want to give a lot. The soul that trusts in My mercy is the happiest,

Page 22: Apostolate jdm3

because I myself take care of it. No soul that has invoked My mercy has been disappointed nor has felt confusion. I delight particularly in a soul which has placed its trust in My goodness" " (Diary, 1273, 1777) "

"I am Love and Mercy. Whoever approaches Me with confidence receives my graces with such overabundance, that they cannot contain them and it radiates over others. Encourage the souls with whom you come in contact to trust in My infinite mercy. Oh, how I love those souls who have complete trusted Me. I will do everything for them. "(Diary, 294)“Everything that exists is enclosed in the bowels of My mercy, more deeply than an infant in its mother’s womb. How painfully distrust of My goodness wounds Me! Sins of distrust are the ones that hurt Me most painfully” (Diary, 1076)

“‘Let the greatest sinners place their trust in My mercy. They more than anyone else have the right to trust in the abyss of my mercy….. If your confidence is great, My generosity will be without limit” (Diary, 548)

Those who trusts in my Mercy will not perish, because all his matters are mine and his enemies will be smashed at the base of my footstool”.(Diary 723)

If you want to please the Lord, trust in Him, if you want to please Him more confident again, if you want to please Him immensely, be immensely confident in Him. The trusting souls are those who receive His graces.

The Divine Mercy is infinite, but we can limit it with the lack of confidence in God or our lack of Mercy with others.

If a soul does not practice Mercy somehow, it will not reach it on the judgment day.

Page 23: Apostolate jdm3

PROMISES OF THE DIVINE MERCY

In revelations to St. Faustina Kowalska (Poland 1931-1938), Jesus made extraordinary promises which are expressed in the Journal of the Saint:

To those who venerates the image of Dine Mercy:

"I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I also promise here on earth, victory over enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death. I The Lord will defend it as My own Glory. ” (Diary, 48)

“Through this image I will fill souls with graces; so let every soul have access to it” (Diary, 570)

“"I am offering people a vessel with which they have come to the fountain of mercy for Graces. That vessel is this image with the signature: 'Jesus, I trust in You'”.(Diary, 327)

“These rays will shield souls from the wrath of My Father. Blessed are those who live in this shadow of them, because they do not will be reached by the just hand of God.” (Diary, 299)

Jesus said that He would protect cities and houses in which the image was found.

(Note: The important towns of Cracow and Vilno where was established this devotion, were preserved in almost total destruction of Poland in the second world war).

Page 24: Apostolate jdm3

The souls that trust:

“The soul that trusts in My mercy is the happiest because I will care for it".” (Diario, 1273)

“The graces of My mercy are drawn by a single vessel, and this is trust. The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive. The souls that trust without limits are My great consolation, because in such souls I pour all the treasures of My Graces. I am glad you ask a lot, because I want to give a lot.” (Diary, 1578)

"I have opened My Heart like a living fountain of Mercy. All souls take life its life. To approach with great confidence in this sea of mercy. Sinners will obtain justification and the righteous will be fortified. To those who have placed their trust in My mercy, at the hour of the death I will fill their soul with My divine peace " (Diary, 1520)

“No soul that has called upon My mercy has been disappointed or felt confused. I delight particularly in a soul that trusts in My goodness.” (Diary, 1541)

“He who trusts in My mercy will not perish, for all his matters are Mine, and his enemies will be shattered at the base of My footstool" (Diary, 723)

Those who propagate the Divine Mercy:

“The souls that propagate the devotion to my Mercy, I protect them during their lives as a loving mother protects her new born baby and at the time of death, I will not be a Judge, but rather a Merciful Savior” (Diary, 1075)

Page 25: Apostolate jdm3

“ …To all those who proclaim my great Mercy, I will protect them

Myself at the hour of death, as My own glory, even if the sins of souls are as black as night” (Diary, 379)

“All souls who glorify My mercy and propagate the devotion, encouraging others to trust in My mercy, will not experience terror at the hour of death. My mercy will protect them in that final battle…” (Diary, 1540)

Those who pray to the hour of mercy (3:00 pm):

"( At this time nothing will be denied to the soul that prompted by the merits of My Passion ......"(Diary, 1320)

“At this hour you can obtain everything you ask for yourself and for others _ in that hour was established a time of grace for the whole world – the Mercy triumphed over justice. ” (Diary, 1572)

Those who pray the chaplet of Divine mercy:

“ I will defend as My own glory every soul that says this chaplet at the hour of death, or when others pray it beside a dying person, who will get the same forgiveness.”, God’s wrath is placated and unfathomable mercy wrap the soul, and the entrails of My tender mercy are moved for the sorrowful Passion of My Son.” (Diary, 811)

“ …When you pray this chaplet beside of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as Judge but as the merciful Savior." (Diary, 1541)

Page 26: Apostolate jdm3

"Pray unceasingly this chaplet that I have taught. Whoever will pray it will receive great mercy at the hour of death. Priests will recommend it to sinners as their last hope of salvation" (Diary, 687)

"When hardened sinners pray it, I will fill their souls with peace, and the hour of their death will be a happy one". (Diary 1541)

"Through the Chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you ask for is according to My will. " ( Diary, 1731)

Those who pray the Novena of Divine Mercy:

"During this novena I will grant to the souls all kind of grace” (Diary, 796)

For Priest:

" Tell My priests that hardened sinners will repent under their words when they speak about My unfathomable mercy, about the compassion I have for them in My Heart. To priests who proclaim and glorify My mercy, I will give them a prodigious strength and I will anoint their words and touch the hearts of those whom speak" (Diary, 1521)

For sinners:

"...... When you say this prayer, with a contrite heart and with faith for a sinner, I will give him the grace of conversion. This is the prayer: "O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, We trust in You... "

Page 27: Apostolate jdm3

At the Feast of Divine Mercy, the second Sunday of Easter (Sunday after Easter):

"Tell the souls, that I give them My mercy like a shield. I along protect them from the righteous wrath of My Father". This fest has sprung from the bowels of My mercy for the consolation of the world "(Diary, 1517)

… Refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion will obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment… Let no soul be afraid to come to Me, even though their sins be as scarlet. Mankind will not have peace until they turn to the Fount of My Mercy." (Diary, 699)

NOVENA TO THE DIVINE MERCY

On holly Friday, 1937, Jesus asked Saint Faustina to pray a special novena before the Feast of Mercy, for the conversion of the world and to make known the Divine Mercy.

.“…For every soul will exalt My Goodness. I want the trust from My creatures, encourage souls to a great trust in My unfathomable Mercy. Let the weak, sinful soul have no fear to approach me, for even if they had more sins than grains of sand in the world, all will be drowned in the deep of my Mercy. ” (Diary 1059).

Page 28: Apostolate jdm3

The Novena that Jesus dictated to Santa Faustina begins on Holy Friday (It was dictated by Jesus himself). “ I want that during these nine days you bring soul to the fountain of My Mercy, to draw strength, comfort and all grace they need to face the difficulties of life, and specially at the hour of death. Each day you will bring to My Heart a different group of

souls, and immerse them in this sea of Mercy, and all these souls, I will take them in to the house of My Father…..And I will not refuse anything to any soul that you will bring to the fount of May mercy. On each day you will ask My Father, graces for those souls for May bitter Passion” (Diary, 1209)

“During this Novena, I will grant to the souls all possible graces” (Diary, 796).

FIRST DAY

"Today bring to Me all mankind, especially all sinners, and immerse them in the ocean of My Mercy. In this way you will console Me in the bitter grief into which the loss of souls plunges Me. "

Most Merciful Jesus, whose very nature it is to have compassion on us and to forgive us, does not look upon our sins but upon our trust which place in your infinite goodness. Receive us all into the abode of Your Compassionate Heart, and never let us escape from It. We beg this of You by Your Love which unites You to the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon all kind and especially upon poor sinners, all enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. For the sake of his sorrowful passion show us your mercy that we praise the omnipotence of Your Mercy for ever and ever. Amen.

Pray the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy *

Page 29: Apostolate jdm3

SECOND DAY

"Today, bring to Me the Souls of Priest and Religious, and immerse them in My unfathomable mercy. It was they who game strength to endure my bitter passion. Through them as through channels my Mercy flows out upon mankind. "

Most Merciful Jesus, from whom comes all that is good, increase your grace in men and women consecrated to Your service, *that they may perform whorthy works of mercy. And that all who see them may glorify the Father of Mercy who is in heaven.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the company of chosen ones in Your vineyard ---upon the souls of priest and religious; and endow them with the strength of Your blessing. For the love of the Heart of Your Son in which they are enfolded, impart to them Your Power and light, that they may be able to guide others in the way of salvation and with one voice sing praise to Your boundless mercy for ages without end. Amen.

Pray the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy *

THIRD DAY

"Today bring to Me all Devout and Faithful Souls, and immerse them in the ocean of my Mercy. These souls brought me consolation on the way of the Cross. They were a drop of consolation in the midst of an ocean of bitterness. "

Page 30: Apostolate jdm3

Most Merciful Jesus, from the treasury of Your Mercy, You impart Your graces in great abundance to each and all. Receive us into the abode of your most Compassionate Heart and never let us escape from It. We beg this grace of You by that most wondrous love for the heavenly Father with which Your Heart burns so fiercely.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon faithful souls, as upon the inheritance of Your Son. For the sake of his sorrowful passion, grant them Your blessing and surround them with your constant protection.

Thus may they never fail in love or lose the treasure of the holy faith, but rather, with all the hosts of Angels and Saints, may they glorify Your Boundless mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Pray the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy *

FOURTH DAY

"Today bring to Me those who do not believe in God and those who do not know me. I was thinking also of them during My bitter Passion, and their future zeal comforted My Heart. Immerse them in the ocean of My Mercy. "

Most compassionate Jesus, You are the light of the whole world. Receive into the abode of your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who do not believe in God and those who as yet do not know You. Let the Rays of your grace enlighten them that they, too, together with us, may extol your wonderful mercy; And do not let them escape from the abode which is Your Most Compassionate Heart.

Page 31: Apostolate jdm3

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls of those who do not believe in You and in those who as yet do not know, but who are

enclosed in the Most Compassionate heart of Jesus. Draw them to the light of the Gospel. These souls do not know what great happiness is to love You. Grant that they, too, may extol the generosity of Your Mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Pray the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy *

FIFTH DAY

"Today bring to Me the Souls of those who have separated themselves from My Church, and immerse them in the ocean of my Mercy. During My bitter Passion they tore at My Body and Heart, that is, My Church. As they return to unity with the church My wounds heal and they alleviate My Passion. "

Most Merciful Jesus, Goodness Itself, You do not refuse light to those who seek it to You. Receive into the abode of your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who have separated themselves from Your Church. Draw them by Your light into the unity of the church, and do not let them escape from the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart; But bring it about that they, too, come to glorify the generosity of Your Mercy.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls of those who have separated themselves from Your Son's Church, who have squandered Your blessings and misused Your graces by obstinately persisting in their errors. Do not look upon their errors, but upon the love

Page 32: Apostolate jdm3

of your own Son and upon His bitter Passion, which He underwent for their sake, since they, too, are enclosed in His Most CompassionateHeart. Bring it about that they also glorify Your great mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Pray the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy *

SIXTH DAY

"Today bring to Me the meek and Humble Souls of Little Children, and immerse them in the ocean of my Mercy. These souls most closely resemble My Heart. They strengthened Me during My bitter agony. I saw them as earthly Angels, who will keep vigil at My altars. I pour out upon them whole torrents of grace; I favor humble souls with My confidence. "

Most Merciful Jesus, You yourself have said, "Learn from Me for I am meek and humble of heart." Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart all meek and humble souls and the souls of little children. These souls send all heaven into ecstasy and they are the heavenly Father's favorites. They are a sweet-smelling bouquet before the throne of God; God Himself takes delight in their fragrance. These

souls have a permanent abode in Your Most Compassionate Heart, O Jesus, and they unceasingly sing out a hymn of love and mercy.

Page 33: Apostolate jdm3

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon meek souls, upon humble souls, and upon little children who are enfolded in the abode which is the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. These souls bear the

closest resemblance to Your Son. Their fragrance rises from the earth and reaches Your very throne. Father of mercy and of all goodness, I beg You by the love You bear these souls and by the delight You take in them: Bless the whole world, that all souls together may sing out the praises of Your Mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Pray the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy

SEVENTH DAY

"Today bring to Me the Souls who especially venerate and glorify My Mercy, and immerse them in My mercy. These souls sorrowed most over my Passion and entered most deeply into My spirit. They are living images of My Compassionate Heart. These souls will shine with a special brightness in the next life. Not one of them will go into the fire of hell. I shall particularly defend each one of them at the hour of death”.

Most Merciful Jesus, whose Heart is Love Itself, receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who particularly extol and venerate the greatness of Your mercy. These souls are mighty with the very power of God Himself. In the midst of all afflictions and adversities they go forward, confident of Your mercy; and united to You, O Jesus, they carry all mankind on their shoulders. These souls will not be judged severely, but Your mercy will embrace them as they depart from this life.

Page 34: Apostolate jdm3

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gazes upon the souls who glorify and venerate Your greatest attribute that of Your fathomless mercy, and who are enclosed in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. These souls

are a living Gospel; their hands are full of deeds of mercy, and their hearts, overflowing with joy, sing a canticle of mercy to You, O Most High! I beg You O God:

Show them Your mercy according to the hope and trust they have placed in You. Let there be accomplished in them the promise of Jesus, who said to them that during their life; but especially at the hour of death, the souls who will venerate this fathomless mercy of HIS, He, Himself, will defend as his glory. Amen.

Pray the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy *

EIGHTH DAY

"Today bring to Me the Souls who are in the prison of Purgatory, and immerse them in the abyss of My mercy. Let the torrents of My Blood cool down their scorching flames. All these souls are greatly loved by Me. They are making retribution to My justice. It is in your power to bring them relief. Draw all the indulgences from the treasury

of My Church and offer them on their behalf. Oh, if you only knew the torments they suffer, you would continually offer for them the alms of the spirit and pay off their debt to My justice."

Page 35: Apostolate jdm3

Most Merciful Jesus, You Yourself have said that You desire mercy; so I bring into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls in Purgatory, souls who are very dear to You, and yet, who must make retribution to Your justice. May the streams of Blood and Water which

gushed forth from Your Heart put out the flames of Purgatory, that there, too, the power of Your mercy may be celebrated.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls suffering in Purgatory, who are enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. I beg You, by the sorrowful Passion of Jesus Your Son, and by all the bitterness with which His most sacred Soul was flooded: Manifest Your mercy to the souls who are under Your just scrutiny. Look upon them in no other way but only through the Wounds of Jesus, Your dearly beloved Son; for we firmly believe that there is no limit to Your goodness and compassion. Amen.

Pray the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy *

NINETH DAY

"Today bring to Me the Souls who have become Lukewarm, and immerse them in the abyss of My mercy. These souls wound My Heart most painfully. My soul suffered the most dreadful loathing in the Garden of Olives because of lukewarm souls. They were the reason I cried out: 'Father, take this cup away from Me, if it be Your will.' For them, the last hope of salvation is to run to My mercy."

Page 36: Apostolate jdm3

Most compassionate Jesus, You are Compassion Itself. I bring lukewarm souls into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart. In this fire of Your pure love, let these tepid souls who, like corpses, filled You with such deep loathing, be once again set aflame. O Most Compassionate Jesus, exercise the omnipotence of Your mercy and draw them into the very ardor of Your love, and bestow upon them the gift of holy love, for nothing is beyond Your power.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon lukewarm souls who are nonetheless enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. Father of Mercy, I beg You by the bitter Passion of Your Son and by His three-hour agony on the Cross: Let them, too, glorify the abyss of Your mercy. Amen. (1209-1229)

Pray the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy *
