The village is located at the distance of about 75 kilometers from Chachro and 130 kilometers from district headquarter Tharparkar@ Mithi. The village is connected with the taluka and district headquarters through pacca and katcha road. The village was hit by a fire on May 11, 2020 at around 12 noon, when a sudden fire broke out in a residential house while cooking due to strong winds. Within minutes, fires spread to other houses in the village. In the result 23 houses turned into ashes, and residents struggled to find a way to save their lives. The situation depicts very critical condition of the village as everything has turned to ashes which has caused economic loss of thousands of rupees according to initial reports. AWARE Team visit & RAPID ASSESSMENT As the incident reported in electronic, print and social media and came in the knowledge of the organization, Association for Water, Applied Education & Renewable Energy- AWARE Tharparkar Team visited the village within 2 hours of incident for rapid need assessment and analyzing the immediate needs of the vulnerable people affected by this severe and dangerous incident of fire. Team visited the village and collected information of the incident. Loss of food / stored grain / fodder/cash/livestock/silver/gold All the material of 23 houses burnt completely; they stored all the food grains of wheat which recently received from government which was stored by the villagers in their houses have been burnt completely and there are no food items left in the village and people even don’t have availability of one meal. Besides this, all the stored fodder to cater the needs of the animals has been burnt completely. The loss of livestock / animals is also reported by villagers as that were the main sources of livelihood.
