SoLo DTMF Client and Mobile Call Control for IP Office

This document provides information on how to configure SoLo DTMF Client and Mobile Call Control for IP Office.

SoLo DTMF Client

SoLo DTMF Client is a client solution that provides users with IP Office telephony features in their mobile phones. SoLo DTMF Client installed in supported mobile phones works with the IP500 to provide desktop features to the mobile phone user.

Requirements to implement SoLo DTMF Client

1) SoLo DTMF Client is supported on IP500 running release 4.2 or above. 2) A Mobile Worker license (former Mobility License) required for each configured user. It is the same license as the Mobile Twinning license in 4.1 and earlier. 3) Trunks that support clearing supervision required. Supported trunk types are:

a) IP500 Universal PRI (Not supported on legacy PRI on a carrier card) b) IP500 BRI c) SIP (RFC2833)

4) Available DID/DDI numbers equal to the number of features to implement. 5) SoLo DTMF Client is downloadable from Resources/Software on http://www.sosoftware.com/solo-mobile-dtmf 6) IP Office release 4.2 and 5.0 supports Symbian (S60 V 9.2 or 9.3) and BlackBerry (V 4.7 and previous) devices.

Verify compatibility of your Mobile Phone

Please refer to the list of SoLo DTMF Client supported phones and operating system versions to verify compatibility of your mobile phone. To display Symbian (Nokia) firmware version enter *#0000# on the keypad.

Feature Name Extension (FNE)

A Feature Name Extension is a number you can dial that allows you to access an Avaya IP Office feature from your mobile phone. All FNEs that the administrator would like to activate must be associated to a DID/DDI that comes in over a supported trunk type. This is done in the IP Office configuration shown later. Additionally, the DID/DDI number must be configured in the configuration file for the SoLo DTMF Client. The table below lists the supported IP Office FNEs, the corresponding FNE number and tag name. The FNE numbers are entered in the telephone number field when creating FNE Service short codes in the IP Office configuration. The tag names are used in the client configuration files to enable and disable a specific feature. The feature is enabled by populating a valid DID/DDI number in the associated tag. An empty tag does not enable the feature.

Specifications about Direct and Blocked Numbers, Replace Phone and Personal Functions.

As regards Direct Numbers, Blocked Numbers, Blocked DTMF Numbers and Replace phone, please note the following: Direct Numbers: numbers or parts of numbers meaning that a number dialled via SoLo is called directly by the SIM Blocked Numbers: numbers or parts of numbers which can't be called by using the SIM Blocked DTMF Numbers: numbers or parts of numbers which can't be called by using SoLo Replace phone: means that SoLo Client is always active (all 'exit' functions are disabled. When the set value is '1' 'autostart' is enabled and 'autostart option' is hidden, so that it can't be disabled. This configuration together with BLOCKED_NUMBERS allows 'DECT replacement’. By entering the following code, '##21051980*' you can close SoLo application and disable the DECT replacement function. However, the function will be active again the following time you switch on the mobile phone. The only way to disable this function is by setting REPLACE_PHONE=0 in the configuration file or by removing the whole line in the configuration file (i.e. ' REPLACE_PHONE = 1'). Please note that: The wording 'xxx*' means all numbers beginning 'xxx' The wording '*xxx' means all numbers ending 'xxx' The wording '*xxx*' means all numbers including 'xxx' If you insert one '*' in DIRECT_NUMBERS or in BLOCKED_NUMBERS or in BLOCKED_DTMF_NUMBERS all numbers are considered. e.g.:BLOCKED_NUMBERS =*; no call can be made outside SoLo Client e.g.:BLOCKED_DTMF_NUMBERS =*; no call can be made by using SoLo e.g.:BLOCKED_DTMF_NUMBERS=*; and BLOCKED_NUMBERS=*; you can only receive calls If you have Direct Numbers, Blocked Numbers or Blocked DTMF Numbers, you will be able to insert numbers in the configuration file and then you will be able to modify them from SoLo menu directly. Numbers shall be written exactly as they are written in the phone contacts list. Whereas, if you have enabled REPLACE_PHONE, the only way to modify or remove it is by changing the configuration file. Warning: These functions: DIRECT_NUMBERS BLOCKED_NUMBERS BLOCKED_DTMF_NUMBERS REPLACE_PHONE are disabled only by removing the WHOLE LINES in the configuration file.

Specifications about Personal Functions.

You can have ten personal features. If you do not need such personal functions, just remove the line in the configuration file. Personal functions can be very useful if you want to have some special functions on your SoLo DTMF Client. It is possible to have a maximum of ten personal functions. Follow the description of the special syntax used to define those functions. The syntax must be exactly in the format explained below. The length of text menu must be under 50 characters. The separator is the symbol “%” and the line must end with the symbol “;”. Type of functions: PERSONAL_FUNCTION_1 = My function 1%number%CALL_HANGUP%; PERSONAL_FUNCTION_2 = My function 2%number%CALL_FREE_NUMBER%; PERSONAL_FUNCTION_3 = My function 3%number%CALL_NO_HANGUP%; PERSONAL_FUNCTION_4 = My function 4%number%CALL_TONE_NO_HANGUP%tones%; PERSONAL_FUNCTION_5 = My function 5%number%CALL_TONE_HANGUP%tones%; ...

Menu labels: The first parameter is the label of the function: My function 1, My function 2, … Dialled numbers: The second parameter is the dialled number: 1024, 1025, 1026, ... (the dialled number will be DID + number, if we have DID in the configuration, for example = +4484524155 and the function number 1024, the result dialled number will be equal to +44845241551024) Type of connection

Type Description

CALL_HANGUP It makes a call to the number, waits for connection and hangs up (DID + Number)

CALL_FREE_NUMBER It enables the user to select the number to send. (Compose, Contacts, ...). It connects to the number and sends the selected number.

CALL_NO_HANGUP It makes a call to the number, connects and does not hang up.

CALL_TONE_NO_HANGUP It makes a call, connects, sends the tones defined as fourth parameter and does not hang up

CALL_TONE_HANGUP It is the same as in CALL_TONE_NO_HANGUP, but it hangs up after having sent the number defined as fourth parameter.

Configuring IP Office

Activate the following licence: IPO LIC - MOBILITY RFA SoLo DTMF Client relies on the Twinned Mobile Number of the user device (circled below) to be present in the IP Office configuration to identify the SoLo user. When a SoLo client calls into the IP Office to use the FNE services, the mobile Caller ID is matched to the Twinned Mobile Number to identify the IP Office user.

Configuring User(s)

Once the Mobility license has been installed, SoLo users can be configured. In IP Office release 4.2 the “Twinning” tab has been renamed to “Mobility”. To set up a user for SoLo 1) Navigate to the user’s Mobility tab 2) Check the “Mobility Features” checkbox 3) Check the “Mobile Twinning” checkbox 4) Fill in the “Twinned Mobile Number” 5) Check the “one-X Mobile Client” checkbox

Creating FNE Short Codes

A short code feature called “FNE Service” is used to implement the FNE behaviour required for SoLo DTMF client support. The Telephone Number field will be the FNE feature number. One way to program the short code is shown below. Code - 777XX The short code can be any number. In this example, 777 is an arbitrary prefix used. Feature - FNE Service Must have FNE Service selected as a short code feature. Telephone Number - N

Issue 4.2 (24.07.2009) Page 11 - 15

Setting the Incoming Call Route

The incoming call route (ICR) is used to tie the DID/DDI number to a particular FNE feature. If the Blind Transfer feature (FNE 26) DID/DDI was set to xxxxx21981 in the client configuration file, then the ICR destination must be set to the 77726. This will activate the Blind Transfer FNE feature by setting the Telephone Number field to 26 when the 777XX short code is invoked.
