Once a craft fair made up of 25 vendors that occupied one block of Central Avenue, Apple Harvest Day has grown into a true street festival with six stages of entertainment, two food courts, a 5K road race, children’s amusements, and over 400 crafters and vendors. Over the last 32 years, on the first Saturday of October, the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce has hosted Apple Harvest Day. Once a craft fair made up of 25 vendors that occupied one block of Central Avenue, Apple Harvest Day has grown into a true street festival with six stages of entertainment, two food courts, a 5K road race, children’s amusements, and over 400 crafters and vendors. In 2013, Apple Harvest Day drew over 60,000 visitors.

On Apple Harvest Day, Henry Law Park, a four acre park located at the southern end of the festival, transforms over night into a child’s wonderland. For the last five years, Apple Harvest Day has kicked off on River Street at the banks of the Cocheco River with the start of the Apple Harvest Day 5K Road Race. The USTA certified, family-friendly course winds through city streets neighborhoods and farm land, ending back in the heart of the city and the festival itself.

A participating race of the Dover Race Series this year’s Apple Harvest Day 5K is expected to see over 1,200 participants. Don’t miss the opportunity to align your business or organization with Dover’s premier road race.
