The three phase current amplifier AMI 99 is an additionaldevice to the DRTS 6. DRTS 6 in connection with AMI 99allows to have 9 currents or 6 currents at 30 A per phase orthree currents at 60 A per phase.

AMI 66Three phase current amplifier

The three phase current amplifier AMI 66 is an accessory forDRTS 6 for tests that require nine independent currents at thesame time (two secondary differential transformers). Thethree current outputs of AMI 66 can be generated togetherwith DRTS 6: this also allows paralleling current outputs thusincreasing output current and power.

AMIV 66 Three phase current and two phase voltage amplifier

The three phase current and two phase voltage amplifier AMIV66 is an accessory for the DRTS 6 for tests that require nineindependent currents at the same time (two secondarydifferential transformers), or six voltages at the same time(synchronising devices), or six currents and six voltages.The three current outputs of AMIV 66 can be generatedtogether with DRTS 6: this also allows paralleling currentoutputs, thus increasing output current and power.

OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES

IEC 61850 interfaceThe standard IEC 61850 describes the communication ofdevices in substations. IEC61850 messages coming from thedevices connected to the substation network (such as a relay)are also called GOOSE. GOOSE messages describe binarystatus signals over the substation network and are also usedfor relays tripping . For relay testing applications within IEC61850 substations it is necessary to access to these data.This new feature is performed by ISA Automatic Relay Test SetDRTS 6 and with the new software TDMS rev. 5.01.By means of a dedicated hardware and the TDMS software,ISA DRTS 6 can expand his testing capabilities by handlingthose IEC61850 messages.

The IEC61850 Interface option for DRTS 6 is required for relaytesting with Ethernet-based substation communicationprotocol. The IEC61850 Interface is mounted directly on thefront panel of the DRTS 6.

IN2-CDG current booster for 1 A rated high burden relaysWith DRTS 6 the full power of 100 VA is available only at thecurrent of 15 A.The option IN2-CDG by means of a set of three currenttransformers, with the following characteristics:Primaries: 12.5 A and 15 A;Secondaries: 0.5 A; 1 A; 2.5 A; 5 A;Nominal power: 100 VA;Current ratio error: 0.2.Case: plastic.For the single phase test of the CDG relay it is possible to have three times the above power, connecting current outputs in series.

I100A current boosterThe option I100A is set of six current transformers, that allowsto perform the following tests:- With DRTS 6, 3x50 A;- With DRTS 6 and AMI 99, 6X50 A (differential relays) or

3x100 A (over-current relays).Characteristics:Primary: 3x(2x15) +3x30 A;Secondary: 6x50 A, that can be put in parallel, to form 3x100 A;Nominal power: 6x120 VA @ 50 A, or 3x240 VA, steady;Current ratio error: 0.5%;Frequency range: 40 Hz to 2 kHz.Case: plastic.Dimensions: 400 x 300 x 175 mm.Weight: 14 kg.

Inputs from DRTS 6 are put in parallel inside the option: alltransformers have 30 A on the primary and 50 A on thesecondary.The option includes twelve connecting cables to DRTS 6 andAMI 99 current outputs, 1 m long, 6 sq. mm cross section.

With this options, it is possible to perform the following tests:. With DRTS 6 only, 3x50 A;. With AMI 99, 6X50 A (differential relays) or 3x100 A

(over-current relays).

Optional GPS synchronizer

IO-6432 Digital input and output expansion

The option IO-6432 increases the number of logic inputs andoutputs that can be monitored by the DRTS 6. The option adds to inputs and outputs that are located in the DRTS 6.The IO-6432 is fitted internally in the DRTS 6 unit.

SHA-1 energy meters universal scanning head

SHA-1 is a scanning head that eases the test of energy meters. It is an universal scanning head because itcan be used both with LED impulse electronic meters andFerraris rotating disk meters. With rotating disk the sensoruses a green light beam that optimizes the recognition of anytype of mark.

With LED recognition the following specification applies:. Impulse duration: more than 60 us;. Impulse frequency: less than 500 Hz;. Duty cycle: 50%;. Light wavelength: 500 to 960 nm (red).The option includes:. A support to keep the scanning head in front of the energy

Palm control

The Palm Control is an innovative control of the DRTS 6 and for DRTS and DRTS 3 too, which uses a PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) or Pocket PC that runs under theWindows Mobile operating system. We have developed asimple graphical interface that allows the users to have a lowcost interface, extremely compact for simple and fast testingoperations. The Palm Control has a colour touch screen thatallows a simple graphical control of the DRTS’s outputs.The Palm Control is made by a PDA and the Mobile XPROsoftware module.

Advanced Protection Relay Test Set and Measurement System

The three phase current and voltage amplifier AMIV 3 is anaccessory for the DRTS for tests that require six independentcurrents or six independent voltages at the same time. The instrument contains three separate generators:. Main generator, that generates either AC current, AC

voltage; DC voltage;. Auxiliary AC voltage generator, that generates an

independent, phase shiftable AC voltage;. Auxiliary DC voltage generator, that generates the DC

voltage that powers the relay under test.

All outputs are adjustable and metered at the same time on thelarge, graphic LCD display.T 1000 PLUS operates without connection to a PC. With themulti-purpose knob and the LCD display it is possible to enterthe MENU mode, that allows to set many functions, that makeT 1000 PLUS a very powerful testing device, with manual and semi-automatic testing capabilities, and with the possibility totransfer test results to a PC via USB or RS232 interface. Theseresults can be recorded, displayed and analysed by the power-ful TDMS software, that operates with all WINDOWS versions,starting from WINDOWS 98 included.

- Thermal sensors or the SCR that controls current injection,and of the internal temperature. In case of over-temperature,an alarm message is displayed.

- If maximum current limits and time duration of power transformer generators are reached, the generation is interrupted, and the operator is warned by an alarm message.

- The DC current source is protected against over-voltages.In addition, the output is automatically kept to zero as test stops, so that any residual energy on the external load is discharged.

- The auxiliary AC voltage is protected by an electronic circuit that stops the voltage generation and opens the connection to outputs socket in case of overload (short circuit included).In case of intervention, an alarm message is displayed. Via the control knob the operator can reset the alarm and close the relay to restore operation. The auxiliary AC voltage is also protected by a thermo switch that intervenes in case of over-heating. In case of intervention, an alarm message is displayed.

- The DC voltage generator is protected by a current limiter.The user notices the low voltage and removes the overload.The fuse protects the case of counter-feed.

- Re-triggering fuse on the auxiliary contact.- Timer inputs are protected against wrong selections.

If the voltage free input is selected and a voltage is applied less than 250 V AC or 275 V DC, circuits will not be damaged.

- Trip inputs and the auxiliary relay contacts are protected by devices rated 380 V AC, which limit the maximum voltage between sockets and among sockets and ground.

- The 20 mA measurement input is protected by a fuse.

High IDC Module - 400AThe high DC current module allows the measurement of thelow contact resistance of high voltage breakers or of joints.The option is connected to the high AC current output ofT3000; the current measurement is connected to the low DCcurrent measurement input; the drop voltage is connected tothe low voltage measurement input. DC current output is: 100A steady; 200 A for 4 minutes; 400 A for 15 s.The selection of this function is performed via menu; the screen displays: test current; joint voltage; contact resistance. Resistance measurement ranges: µOhm 100.0,1.000, 10.00, 100.0 mOhm; 1.000 Ohm, auto-ranging.The connection cables are included with the option.

Current booster - 2000A ACThe current booster module allows performing high current primary tests. The option is connected to the high AC current output of T3000, and boosts the output current on two ranges:1000 A or 2000 A. Output characteristics are the following.

Current output is measured by connecting the option to theexternal high current measurement.The selection of this function is performed via menu; the screendisplays the output current as kA.The connection cables are included with the option.

Safety Features and Protections- Fuse on the mains supply.- At power-on, a diagnostic sequence controls:

. Key microprocessor board components;

. Auxiliary supply voltages.If something is wrong, the operator is alerted by a message.- Emergency pushbutton: if pressed, all main outputs are

removed.- The high voltage output has the following protections:

. Confirmation key: if not turned, the HV output is not generated;

. The HV is generated only if selected.- Thermal NTC sensor on the main and auxiliary transformers.

In case of over-temperature, an alarm message is displayed.

T2000 contains one generator:• Main generator. It has six outputs: High AC current; Low AC

current; Low DC current; Current impulses; High AC voltage; Low AC voltage 1.

All outputs are adjustable and metered on the large, graphicLCD display. With the multi-purpose control knob and the graphic LCD display it is possible to enter the MENU mode,that allows to control all functions, and makes T2000 themost powerful testing device, with manual and automatictesting capabilities, and with the possibility to transfer testresults to a PC via the RS232 interface. These results can berecorded, displayed and analysed by the powerful TDMS software, which operates with all WINDOWS versions, startingfrom WINDOWS 98 included.Additional features are:. Oscilloscope function: it is possible to display the current

and voltage waveform measured;. Two independent measurement inputs, for current and

voltage, and with High and Low inputs each, allow measuring CT or VT outputs or any other source;

Very High Current Booster BU2000 for T2000 Test setsThe very high current booster option allows performing highcurrent primary injections with currents up to 4000 A.The Current Booster BU2000 for T3000 and T2000 Test sets isdesigned around the concept to avoid wasting power on theconnection cables, by putting the power transformers as closeas possible to the test object. This approach is particularlyuseful when the test is performed on CT’s in the field, that arefrom 5 to 10 meters above the ground. The solution is soundbecause the weight of transformer plus cable plus clamps iscomparable to the weight of the connection cables.The higher the test current, the higher the weight of the transformers, but also the higher the weight of the connectioncables. With this solution, the connection cable to the powersource is much lighter, does not pose any major problem ofvoltage drop, and can be any length.The following drawing shows the connections betweenT3000, the IM2000 Interposing Module and the transformers(up to 4).

High IDC module - 400AThe high DC current module allows the measurement of thelow contact resistance of high voltage breakers or of joints.The option is connected to the high AC current output ofT2000; the current measurement is connected to the low DCcurrent measurement input; the drop voltage is connected tothe low voltage measurement input. DC current output is: 100A steady; 200 A for 4 minutes; 400 A for 15 s.The selection of this function is performed via menu; the screen displays: test current; joint voltage; contact resistance.

Current booster - 2000A ACThe current booster module allows performing high currentprimary tests. The option is connected to the high AC currentoutput of T2000, and boosts the output current on two ranges: 1000 A or 2000 A. Output characteristics are the following.

Current output is measured by connecting the option to theexternal high current measurement.The selection of this function is performed via menu; the screen displays the output current as kA.The connection cables are included with the option.

Safety Features and Protections- Fuse on the mains supply.- At power-on, a diagnostic sequence controls:

. Key microprocessor board components;

. Auxiliary supply voltages.If something is wrong, the operator is alerted by a message.

- Emergency pushbutton: if pressed, all main outputs are removed.

- The high voltage output has the following protections:. Confirmation key: if not turned, the HV output is not

generated;. The HV is generated only if selected.

- Thermal NTC sensor on the main and auxiliary transformers. In case of over-temperature, an alarm message is displayed.

- Thermal sensors or the SCR that controls current injection,and of the internal temperature. In case of over-temperature,an alarm message is displayed.

- If maximum current limits and time duration of power transformer generators are reached, the generation is interrupted, and the operator is warned by an alarm message.

- The DC current source is protected against over-voltages.In addition, the output is automatically kept to zero as test stops, so that any residual energy on the external load is discharged.

- The 20 mA measurement input is protected by a thermal switch against wrong connections: in case of error the PTC goes to high impedance. The switch self-restores to the normal value in some minutes.

BU2000 - High current boosterThe current output of T2000 and T3000 can be increased to upto 2000 A with a new type of optional booster controlled by the T3000 - 2000 control unit. The BU2000 option is aninnovative design concept that allows avoiding the power losses due to long cables connections.To achieve this, the BU2000 transformer is placed very close tothe device under test (CT primary side, Circuit Breaker maincontacts), thus avoiding losses on the high current cables. TheBU2000 is then connected with a long (up to 20 m) low powercontrol cable to T2000 or T3000 unit.

In case of 2 to 4 BU2000 units an Interposing Module isnecessary. This module is connected with low power cables tothe BU2000 units.

A P P L I C A T I O NThe CBA 2000 is a unique test set for the complete test of allcircuit breakers. It is a powerful timing and motion analyzerequipment with built-in 200 A pure DC microhmmeter for static and dynamic contact resistance tests. CBA 2000 is astand alone unit with a large graphical display. The unit is sup-plied with TDMS analysis software. TDMS performs test resultsanalysis and creates test reports; it allows also to pre-definetest plans. TDMS is also a powerful Test and Data Managementsoftware compatible with all ISA Test Sets.

All CBA 2000 circuits have been designed to ensure safe andreliable operations in the noisy environment of EHV and HV substations.

Safe Circuit Breaker Test with Both Sides Grounded

With the BSG option for both CBA 1000 and CBA 2000, it ispossible to perform circuit breaker timing test with both sidesgrounded. The grounding connection is NOT removed duringthe test as it has to be with conventional test equipment.Safety is becoming more and more important and severallaws and regulations all around the world prescribe that at thework location in high voltage installation, all parts on whichare to be worked on shall be earthed ( grounded ) and shortcircuited.While testing a Circuit Breaker in high voltage substations thesituation may become dangerous due to the high electricpotential. This can be caused by a capacitive coupling from a

close conductor, when lightning strikes the line somewhere or when a fault occurs during the test and a high potentialreaches the circuit breaker.To improve personnel safety, reduce hooking time and preserve the test integrity, the use of a BSG 1000 is the bestpractice while testing circuit breakers.BSG 1000 is also the best solution for testing those circuitbreakers using Graphite Nozzles.

DESCRIPTION

Two BSG 1000 types are available:• BSG 1000- type 1 for testing one break per phase; • BSG 1000- type 2 for testing two breaks per phase.

Each BSG 1000 is made of the following elements:. Three BSG Remote Heads connected close to the main

breaker contacts.Remote Heads for BSG 1000- type 1:. Each head has two cables, 2.5 m long, cross section

The values of this current normally rangefrom fractions of milliampere to a few milliampere, and arecharacterized by a third harmonic distortion whose value is an indicator of the deterioration of the surge arrester.The resistive component of this leakage current may increasedue to different stresses causing ageing and finally causingarrester failures.

Third harmonic with compensationIn case there is a doubt that the third harmonic comes from aheavy distortion of the voltage rather than the surge arrester itself, the auxiliary measuring probe provided with theSCAR 10 allows to measure this content quite easily in orderto perform the compensation.
