PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION The National RHD Nurse Coordinator position represents a unique career opportunity for an individual to extend their experience as a public health professional whilst at the same time contributing to an important public health challenge in Fiji and the achievement of Ministry National Strategic Plan and Child Health Strategy targets in relation to Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) The post aims to implement and support the delivery of a: (1) A comprehensive national register-based RHD secondary
prevention programme (2) Implementation of national ARF/RHD guidelines for the clinical
care of patients with acute rheumatic fever/RHD; (3) A model for RHD early case detection including a national case
detection programme; and
(4) Primary prevention guidelines including ongoing national health promotion and awareness. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Provide leadership, strategic direction and mentoring to the three divisional coordinators
2. Preparation of annual plans, National level data collection and reporting including consolidation of divisional data.
3. Ensuring adequate Benzathine supply and resolution of supply issues at national level as required
4. Overall quality assurance and monitoring of RHD curriculum in undergraduate and post- graduate courses
5. Support the integration of RHD with NCD and, where appropriate, other public health programmes, and RHD advocacy including ministerial briefings and general media
6. Provide overall coordination of the national technical advisory committee for RHD
PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
1. National and divisional adherence reports submitted to Divisional Medical Officer’s, DHS, Health Information Unit and National Advisor Wellness on a monthly and quarterly basis and annual RHD activity reports prepared and submitted to National Advisor Wellness
2. Annual work plans prepared and submitted to National Advisor Wellness and Technical advisory committee meetings arranged and minuted each quarter
3. Conduct at least one nurse or Medical Officer training and Represent RHD program during national all relevant Ministry stakeholder meetings – at least one each quarter
4. Ensure ARF/RHD is formally integrated into the under graduate and post graduate curriculums at all institutions that offer nurse and medical officer training

The Position The position is responsible for the effective day to day operations, maintenance and repairs of all Plumbing works in health facilities located in the Central Division. Key Result Areas: 1. Maintain repair works for all plumbing related works. 2. Establish and maintain liaison with administration and
professional staff regarding plumbing maintenance programs.
3. Plan and organize time, cost and material for assigned work, establishing sequences and methods to be used, inspect maintenance and repair work to ensure compliance with specifications, recommend modifications and requirement changes to facilitate completion of assigned tasks.
4. Maintain the workshop upkeep and proper storage of plumbing materials
5. To ensure preventive plumbing maintenance programs is in place and implemented which should include the adherence to OHS rules and regulations.
6. Train and supervision of Trade Assistant and Trainees
Key Performance Indicators: 1. Effective and efficient providing of plumbing work services. 2. Coordinate purchasing of plumbing materials using relevant
guidelines. 3. Ensure that plumbing materials are stored appropriately.

Knowledge and Experience
1. Experience and knowledge of plumbing works and maintenance, repairs and installations.

3. Experience and knowledge of working with equipment’s/ items/ machines of plumbing works.

The Position The position is responsible for the effective day to day operations of the equipment and furnishings in terms of servicing and repairing to the Central Division. Key Result Areas: 1. Assist and participate in activities of personnel engaged in the
maintenance of equipment and furnishings to include repair and service of Air conditioning, blowers, freezers, coolers and other refrigeration works.
2. Ensuring that the Air Conditioning units, freezers, coolers and other related equipment or machinery is in operational conditional and note down break downs.
3. Ensuring that the establish preventive maintenance program is maintained and liaise with administration and professional staff regarding its schedule
4. Ensure that the OHS Regulations is maintained at all times in the workplace both internal and external. 5. Ensure the working and workshop environment is kept clean and tidy at all times
Key Performance Indicators: 1. Coordinate and facilitate servicing of air conditioning, refrigerator
and other related equipment. 2. Ensure that workshop maintain cleanliness. 3. Coordinate purchasing of servicing materials in accordance with
relevant guidelines. 4. Effective and efficient repairing services is provided as required. The Person In addition to a Trade certificate in Air Conditioning and experience minimum of 2 years, the following knowledge, experiences, skills and abilities are required to successfully undertake this role Knowledge and Experience 1. 1 Work requires broad knowledge of maintenance methods and
procedures involved in the maintenance of Air Conditioning units, freezer, coolers etc.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in basic general maintenance and repair in RAC
3. Skills and knowledge in electrical works would be an advantage. 4. Basic knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety

The Position The position provides assistance to the carpenter and plumber for their major repairing works within the facilities in the Central Health Division. Key Responsibilities: 1. Repair of minor plumbing works. 2. Repair of minor carpentry works 3. Ensure the loading and offloading of building materials. 4. Ensure that building materials are properly stored and recorded. 5. Assist the maintenance team as and when required Key Performance Indicators: 1. Ensure that building materials supplied are all received and kept at
appropriate places. 2. Ensure that repairing activities are carried out as required. 3. To ensure that all building materials used are kept appropriately
after use. The Person The following Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities are required to successfully undertake this role: Knowledge and Experience 1. Possess basic experience in Carpentry and plumbing work 2. Possess basic Gardening/landscaping work experience.

The Position The position provides support to the management by providing labourer assistance for maintenance for general services in health facilities in the Central Division. Key Responsibilities: The position will achieve its purpose through the following key responsibilities/duties: 1. Ensure cleaning and preparing of job site for all works planned and
facilitated in health facilities 2. Assist in loading and delivering materials to required health
facilities within the division 3. Performs various manual labor tasks requiring some specialized
skills to assist in the work of skilled tradesmen and craftsmen such as Carpenters, Plumbers, Electrician, etc.

4. Digging holes and installing supports using a variety of small hand and handheld power tools.
5. Maintain upkeep and beautification of surrounding for health facilities;
6. Ensure the removal and disposal of waste from all health premises are maintained in compliance with OHS standards;
7. Assist in stocking all written off equipment’s & furniture’s to the storage area;
