Dove ScholarshipsApplications are invited from aspiring Year 9–13 students who demonstrate the following criteria:

• Aspirational hopes for themselves;

• Personal values and character that fit with Kristin School;

• Personal capabilities or talents that Kristin School would help enhance;

• Add vibrancy and/or diversity to our school community (e.g. ethnicity, socio-economic).

These scholarships are for partial or full reduction of the tuition and enrolment fees to attend Kristin School.

There are typically a couple of full scholarships offered each year, however there can be up to six partial scholarships offering a discount on the tuition fees to attend Kristin School.

The ‘full’ scholarship is offered to students who meet the criteria and can demonstrate a high level of financial hardship (ie. an annual family salary cap and total assets limit) that would prevent them from being able to attend Kristin School.

The ‘partial’ scholarship is available to students who meet the criteria and can demonstrate a modest level of financial hardship (i.e. could be above the annual family salary cap and total assets limit) that would prevent them from paying the full annual tuition fees, but could make a level of financial contribution. The partial discount would be agreed between the school’s Executive Principal in private consultation with the family of the student applying.

SCHOLARSHIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS

– Scholarships are only open to NZ Citizens or Permanent Residents.

– Scholarships are only available to new students entering Kristin School.

– Dove Scholarships are needs based, available to students who for financial reasons would not otherwise be able to attend Kristin School. These students families must meet the financial criteria.*(see over)

– Scholarship families invited to interview will be required to complete a ‘Disclosure of Financial Position’ and submit this along with supporting evidence prior to interview.

– Shortlisted applicants and parents must attend a personal interview with the Executive Principal.

– Scholarships will be awarded to students who show exceptional all-round ability, add diversity to the student population and actively participate in their culture.

– There is an annual review of the performance of the scholarship holder against attitude and commitment criteria and the scholarship may be withdrawn where a recipient’s attitude and/or performance is unsatisfactory, or the scholarship criteria is no longer met.

– The decision of the Executive Principal is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

– In the event that there are no scholarship applicants who meet the candidate criteria, Kristin School reserves the right not to award any scholarships that year.

To apply for a Dove Scholarship please ensure that you complete the application form and include all items on the checklist. Applications can be submitted anytime before the closing date. You will receive acknowledgement of your application via email.


All applications, discussions and decisions must be kept strictly confidential by the School and applicants.

When the scholarship period is completed, past scholarship recipients may be approached to share their story about how their Kristin scholarship positively benefited their life journey. Positive testimonials are valuable in the promotion of Kristin’s Dove Scholarship programme, however the school will work with the individual if confidentiality is preferred.

* Financial criteria includes a joint annual gross salary cap for primary caregiver(s) of $100,000 and a total assets limit of $300,000 or less

Copy of your two most recent school reports (these must be in English)

Copies of any relevant specialist reports relating to learning abilities, such as an Educational Psychologist report. It is particularly important that complete and accurate information be provided regarding any learning support or special needs for your child. It is essential that full disclosure be made at the time of application.

Copy of the student’s proof of identity and domestic student status.

Application fee of NZ$50 (Please note that this application fee is non-refundable and the acceptance of this fee does not guarantee that an interview or offer of place will be made). Payment of the application fee can be made by cash, cheque, credit card or on-line banking. For on-line banking please use your child’s first name and surname as a reference for our bank statement.
