Copenhagen Photo Festival Krausesvej 3 2100 København Ø www.copenhagenphotofestival.com Application for Photo City at Copenhagen Photo Festival June 7 th -17 th 2018 This application procedure addresses artists and photographers who wish to be part of the festival’s centre, Photo City, during Copenhagen Photo Festival that takes place June 7 th -17 th 2018. Copenhagen Photo Festival takes place 11 days each year in June. At the festival you can experience about 60 exhibitions in collaboration with around 55 exhibition sites in Copenhagen and southern Sweden. Furthermore it facilitates artist talks, workshops, seminars etc. created on the occasion of the festival. Each year around 250 photographers and photo-based artists are a part of the festival programme and last year 50.000 visited Copenhagen Photo Festival. Photo City is curated and organised by CPF. It’s a unique centre of the festival, which is based at Østerbro located around the old transformer station, Understationen and the big area outside called Gasværksgrunden. Photo City only exists during the festival period. Applicants should note that the space in Photo City is very limited, and for this reason CPF has to be very selective about the exhibited projects. It is a requirement that the project as a whole hasn’t been exhibited in Denmark before. The application is processed by CPF’s manager Maja Dyrehauge Gregersen and the programme committee, consisting of Charlotte Præstegaard Schwartz, a postdoctoral fellow, Søren Pagter, head of photojournalism studies at the Danish School of Media and Journalism, and Jens Erdman Rasmussen, independent curator. Copenhagen Photo Festival offers two open calls at two locations in Photo City Gasværksgrunden in Photo City (outdoor-exhibition) As applicant to Photo City you can arrange an outdoor-exhibition in our Photo City. It is a possibility to use big formats and express your work in a different way where the artistic experience collaborates with the surrounding environment. Please notice that the exhibition will be placed outside during the whole festival period in spite of any weather conditions. This means you have to consider materials that are appropriate for the Danish weather. The exhibitor is responsible for all cost linked to the production.
