SELECTION CRITERIA The criteria for selection to the post for which you have applied are set out in the following pages. Desirable criteria may be applied from the outset to select candidates for interview. 1 ESSENTIAL Applicants must provide evidence that they meet the following essential criteria by the closing date for applications: 1.1 Possess a Degree in Computing or other discipline relevant to Information Systems and
Information Technology Only courses with a computing content of at least 50% will be considered relevant by the panel. You must evidence this (i.e. by detailing the modules studied) on the application form. Note: You will be required to provide documentary evidence that your qualification meets this requirement if shortlisted for interview.

1.2 Have at least 3 years’ recent* senior management** experience within an ICT environment to include:
(a) strategy development
(b) planning and implementation of initiatives in which IT services were delivered to a high
quality and secured value for money
(c) effectively leading and motivating a team
(d) leading and delivering significant change while developing and maintaining good
productive working relationships and employee morale.
(e) effective management of a budget
(*recent will normally mean within the last 5 years)
(**Senior management experience is defined as responsibility for managing an ICT service/business unit and
normally reporting directly to at least a Head of Function within the organisation)

1.3 Have at least 3 years’ recent* senior management** experience managing ICT infrastructure services of a scale and complexity comparable with NIFRS*** with the ongoing use and development of clearly defined processes covering the areas defined by ITIL V2 as service desk, incident management, problem management, change management, service level management and configuration management.
*recent will normally mean within the last 5 years
**Senior management experience is defined as responsibility for managing an ICT service/business unit and
normally reporting directly to at least a Head of Function within the organisation.
***NIFRS employs in excess of 2,000 staff, has almost 90 sites and a revenue budget of circa £80m.

1.4 Have at least 3 years’ experience managing large**** ICT procurements, or managing large**** service contracts, and be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and experience of ICT programme and Project Management including practical experience in the PRINCE 2 methodology (or equivalent).
**** Large can be understood as having a total value in excess of £100,000.
