You Need To Fill Out:Visa Application FormOne fully completed and signed application form and Indian visa Checklist. Alternatively VisasDirect can assist the traveller in completing the online application form which can be a time consuming process. This is offered as a Premium Service at a cost of $40 excl GST in addition to all other service fees and current VisasDirect handling fees. In order to facilitate this, please complete the VisasDirect India Form Fill Request which can be found within the VisasDirect Application Pack. All questions must be answered as they are mandatory fields on the Indian High Commission website. Online application form fill requests must be received at VisasDirect before 2pm AEST in order to have it returned to you that day. Once VisasDirect has completed your online application we will email it to you for your signature. An original signature is required so once signed you will need to return the form to us by post or courier.

   

 

VisasDirect Order ConfirmationFor orders placed on the VisasDirect website, a copy of the Online Order Confirmation which is sent to you via email, must be submitted.

   

 

This May Pertain To You:Persons of Indian OriginAll former Indian nationals will need to provide one of the following options:

● A copy of your cancelled Indian passport showing the cancelled stamps and a copy of your Australian citizenship certificate

● A statutory declaration (attested by a Justice of the Peace) stating that you have never held an Indian passport and that you departed India on a foreign passport

● Your Indian passport, application form "N", and a copy of your Australian citizenship certificate. Depending on when Australian citizenship was obtained, an additional fee will be required to have your Indian passport cancelled (please contact VisasDirect for further information)

● A statutory declaration (attested by a Justice of the Peace) stating that you no longer have your Indian passport, application form "N", and a copy of your Australian citizenship certificate. Depending on when Australian citizenship was obtained, an additional fee will be required to have your Indian nationality renounced in the absence of your Indian passport (please contact VisasDirect for further information)

   

 

MinorsChildren under 15 need to provided additional documents:

● Childs birth certificate - In the case of minors who's fathers status being unknown, a statutory declaration (attested by a Justice of the Peace) is required from the mother stating the same

● Copy of the photo page of both parents passports ● In the case of a single parent or guardian please submit additional documentary proof (copies) such as

custody papers, death certificates of deceased parent or proof of single parents status ● No objection letter (Letter of consent) signed by both parents ● Signature of both parents of the childs visa application form ● In the case where a child is going over to India to join a parent who is already in India a copy of that

parents valid Indian visa and a copy of the photo page of their passport    

 

Applicants born in certain countriesApplicants born in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, North Korea or China (including Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau) must contact VisasDirect prior to submitting their order as additional fees, forms and processing delays are applicable. Please note that extensive processing delays may be experienced and VisasDirect is unable to request processing updates or estimated release dates from VFS for former nationals of these countries.

Charity and Media ProfessionalsMembers of the media/advertising industry who are not travelling for that purpose must provide a letter describing in detail what they will be doing and exactly where they will be going in India. These applications are subject to additional processing delays. Those who are travelling for media/journalistic purposes must contact the Indian Passport & Visa Services Centre in their state to apply for their visas - due to regulation complexity VisasDirect cannot assist these applications.

Tourist Visa Checklist Place a tick in the box for documents you are submitting or if the statement is applicable to your case.

Section A: Standard documents You Staff

Current original passport/travel document with a minimum validity of six months from the date of application and must have at least two blank pages.

o Exception Czech Nationals- see details under section D

If you are applying for a Visa on a Travel Document and not a Passport, please ensure you select Current Nationality on the Visa Form based on the country issuing the travel document. Travel document holders can apply for a Visa only within one month prior to their intended travel date and the Visa will be issued for one month only.

If your occupation selected on your Visa Application form is, “Journalist”, you may only apply for a Journalist Visa, even if you intend to travel for tourism or any work or non-work related purpose. Check Occupation on Form.

Applicable Fees

For applications sent by post/courier do not send a return post/courier envelope. (Postal/courier processing fee includes the return delivery)

Section B: Additional documents based on specific conditions

Condition 1: Are you planning to visit India for commissioning Surrogacy?

For drawing up and executing the agreement (duly notarised between the applicant couple and the prospective Indian surrogate mother), the foreign couple can visit India on a reconnaissance trip on Tourist visa. Refer to “Medical and Medical Attendant Visa” checklist for all other requirements related to Commissioning of Surrogacy and travel to India for this purpose.

Condition 2: Are you planning to apply on a Foreign Passport? [Non- Australian Passport]

For Non Australian Passport holders, Photocopy of Visa Status showing valid visa OR Residency Proof from DIAC (Department of Immigration and Citizenship) issued within the last 1 month of the current date stating the type of Residency applied for e.g. Bridging Visa A awaiting Permanent Residency

EXCEPTION: For example, if you are a DUAL national – Australia and UK, and wish to apply on your UK passport, submit a copy of the photo page of your Australian passport.

Condition 3: Do you need to complete FORM D?

All Australian/Foreign passport holders who were previously nationals of Iran, China, Macau, Hongkong, Taiwan, Pakistan, Afghanistan and DPRK must fill in the FORM-D.

Condition 4: Proof of Renunciation of your Indian Citizenship, if you were previously an Indian National

Indian Passport Law does not permit Dual Citizenship; therefore all Indian Nationals obtaining a Foreign Citizenship must renounce their Indian Citizenship

Provide a copy of any consular service availed after 1st June 2010 from the Indian mission in Australia (i.e. Visa / OCI / PIO) OR provide one of the following:-

If your Indian passport is officially cancelled, provide a photocopy of the bio page [page with photo and passport details].

If your Indian Passport is not officially cancelled, submit the original Indian Passport for cancellation, a copy of your Australian OR Foreign Citizenship Certificate and FORM N.

Also provide FORM J if your appearance in the Indian Passport and Australian Passport differs from the form.

If your name is different in the Australian/ Foreign passport from that of the Indian passport, submit a copy of your name change certificate (attested by a Justice of peace J.P.) OR a Statutory Declaration attested by a Justice of peace (J.P)

If your Indian Passport is lost and not in your possession, submit a Statutory Declaration attested by a Justice of Peace with details on the reason for the passport not being in your possession. Also submit a copy of your Australian OR Foreign Citizenship Certificate and FORM N.

Section C: Additional documents for a minor ( child under 15 years)

Copy of birth certificate of minor. In case of the minor’s father status being unknown, a Statutory Declaration attested by a Justice of Peace is required from the mother stating the same.

Parent/s passport copies ( page with photo/signature)

No objection letter (letter of consent) signed by both parents OR

Signature of both parent/s on the visa application form

In the case of single parent/guardian submit additional documentary proof copies such as custody papers / death certificate of the deceased parent / proof of single parent status.

Section D: Specific Nationality Criteria Only if you are a national or hold dual nationality with one of the countries listed here below

If you currently hold dual nationality of Pakistan and another country, both passports need to be submitted. Visa will be issued on your Pakistani passport. All details on application form should be as per Pakistani passport.

If you do not hold dual nationality of Pakistan and another country, submit a statutory Declaration duly attested by a Justice of Peace stating that you do not hold Pakistani nationality.

As a national of Pakistan if you are only visiting one city in India, you must submit your application in quadruplet (four sets). If visiting two cities in India, you must submit in quintuplet (five sets). If visiting three cities in India, you must submit in six sets.

If you currently hold dual nationality of Bangladesh and another country, both passports need to be submitted. Visa will be issued on your Bangladeshi passport. All details on application form should be as per Bangladeshi passport.

If you do not hold dual nationality of Bangladesh and another country submit a Statutory Declaration duly attested by a Justice of Peace stating that you do not hold Bangladeshi nationality.

If you currently hold dual nationality of Sri Lanka and another country, both passports need to be submitted. Visa will be issued on your Sri Lankan passport. All details on application form should be as per Sri Lankan passport.

If you do not hold dual nationality of Sri Lanka and another country submit a Statutory Declaration duly attested by a Justice of Peace stating that you do not hold Sri Lankan nationality.

If you currently hold a New Zealand Passport and are a permanent resident of Australia, submit a copy of your Medicare card.

If you currently hold a Czech Republic Passport, you may apply only if you meet the following conditions A) You must have stayed in Australia, for at least one year, prior to applying. B) Hold a Passport with at least 1 year validity from the date of application. C) Present medical insurance for the entire period of proposed stay in India.

Chinese passport holder of Type-P Passport with number beginning with the Alphabet E can apply for Indian Visa from mainland China only.

India Online Visa Form Instructions

The Indian visa application form is completed online through the official Indian Government online application website:

• Please complete the online visa form as per the instructions below; • Collate all required documentations as per website instructions; and • Follow all instructions and send your documentation to the processing office as specified in your application pack

IMPORTANT:

• Please ensure the passport photograph is 2 inch x 2 inch (5 cm x 5 cm). P lease not that this is not a standard size passport photo. Please see the specific photo requirements at the bottom of this page.

• Please ensure the traveller signs both pages (in the applicable area) of the online visa form when printed; and • Please ensure you enter your name exactly as it appears in your passport (include middle name in given name field).

Renunciation / Surrender Certificate Guidelines for Persons of Indian Origin

The renunciation / surrender certificate procedure and fee structure is based on the date, the Person of Indian Origin, has acquired Australian/Foreign Citizenship.

If the Date of Australian / Foreign Citizenship is on or before 31-May -2010

● If the Indian Passport is not cancelled, please submit the passport with Form N (see below), a copy of the Australian / foreign citizenship certificate and all other required visa documentation.

● If the Indian Passport is lost/damaged and not in possession the applicant will need to provide a statutory declaration attested by a JP with Form N (see below), a copy of the Australian or foreign citizenship certificate and all other required visa documentation.

● The cancelled Indian Passport or attested statutory declaration, as applicable, will be attested and given back to applicant as a proof of cancellation.

● A $24 cancellation fee is payable per passport/applicant.

If the Date of Australian / Foreign Citizenship is after 31- May - 2010

● If the Indian Passport is not cancelled, please submit the passport with Form N (see below), a copy of the Australian / foreign citizenship certificate and all other required visa documentation.

● If the Indian passport is lost/damaged and not in possession the applicant will need to provide a statutory declaration attested by a JP with Form N (see below), a copy of the Australian / foreign citizenship certificate and all other required visa documentation.

● The cancelled Indian Passport or attested statutory declaration and Surrender Certificate, as applicable, will be given back to applicant as a proof of cancellation.

● If the Surrender Certificate is already acquired only a copy of the same needs to be submitted and no additional fee will be applicable.

● A $147 Surrender Certificate fee is payable per passport/applicant.

Orders cancelled prior to the submission to the appropriate government agency will be assessed standard processing fees.
