Applications for the 2012 round of the Endeavour Awards open on 1 April 2011 The Endeavour Awards are a part of the Australia Awards initiative, which brings together, under a single recognisable brand, the Endeavour Awards run by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) and the Development Awards offered by Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID). The Endeavour Awards is the Australian Government’s internationally competitive, meritbased scholarship program providing opportunities for citizens of the AsiaPacific, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas to undertake study, research and professional development in Australia. Awards are also available for Australians to undertake study, research and professional development abroad. The Endeavour Awards aim to: Develop ongoing educational, research and professional linkages between individuals, organisations and countries; Provide opportunities for high achieving individuals to increase their skills and enhance their global awareness; Contribute to Australia’s position as a high quality education and training provider, and leader in research and innovation; and Increase the productivity of Australians through an international study, research or professional development experience.     The Endeavour Awards are a part of the Australia Awards initiative, which brings together, under a single recognisable brand, the Endeavour Awards run by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) and the Development Awards offered by Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID).    The Endeavour Awards is the Australian Government’s internationally competitive, merit‐based scholarship program providing opportunities for citizens of the Asia‐Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas to undertake study, research and professional development in Australia.  Awards are also available for Australians to undertake study, research and professional development abroad.  The Endeavour Awards aim to:  

    • Develop ongoing educational, research and professional linkages between individuals, organisations and countries;  

    • Provide opportunities for high achieving individuals to increase their skills and enhance their global awareness;

    Endeavour Research Fellowships (including *Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Research Fellowships) 

    Research towards a Masters degree or PhD in home country; or postdoctoral research

    *Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Research Fellowships  The top 5 incoming (International) and the top 5 outgoing (Australian) Endeavour Research Fellowship recipients coming from and/or going to a participating Cheung Kong participating country (including Hong Kong and Macau SARs)  will be offered the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Research Fellowship.  No separate application is needed.

    An Endeavour Vocational Education and Training Award can provide you with a unique opportunity to take the next step in your study or career.

    Valued at up to AUD$119,500, this Award enables you to study a vocational course at the Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree level in any field of study in Australia.

    Vocational education and training provides work-related knowledge and skills for careers in practical, traditionally non-academic occupations. The courses undertaken as part of the Award should directly relate to the trade, occupation or ‘vocation’ in which you participate. These courses exclude degree and higher level programs normally delivered by universities.

    Vocational education and training enhances employability by developing expertise in a specific field and equips learners with skills for a lifelong career.

    Award Holders will receive:• A unique opportunity to study in Australia for up to

    two and a half years.• A monthly stipend, travel allowance and
