Applique Instructions IT TI N RODUC ON Applique embroidery may seem difficult, but it is an easy technique using the correct stabilizer and hooping method. Of course the ability to cut around corners, helps. Each machine and hoop is a lile different so always sew out and test. Stabilizers - I used Babylock Tear away medium weight but have also used Sulky medium tear away. All of my designs are tested on 100% coon. Make sure you have the right stabilizer for the type of fabric you are using. STEPS 1. Prep Hoop your fabric and stabilizer securely. Thread your machine with the 3 rd color in the color chart. You do not need to change thread for the placement or tack down stitch The first color red is a placement stitch. The second color blue is the applique tack down stitch. The 3 rd color is the first embroidery stitich that will be seen. 2. Sew out the placement stitch. This shows you where to place your applique fabric piece. You want to choice a piece of fabric that will completely cover this. 3. You can remove your hoop from the machine or leave it in the machine. Place your fabric, make sure you have covered the placement stitch completely I use painters tape to secure the fabric while stitching. Some folks like to use embroidery spray adhesive. 4. Replace your hoop in the machine if you have removed it and sew out the tack down stitch. See photo above 1

Applique InstructionsI T TIN RODUC ONApplique embroidery may seem difficult, but it is an easy technique using the correct stabilizer and hooping method. Of course the ability to cut around corners, helps. Each machine and hoop is a little different so always sew out and test. Stabilizers - I used Babylock Tear away medium weight but have also used Sulky medium tear away. All of my designs are tested on 100% cotton. Make sure you have the right stabilizer for the type of fabric you are using.

STEPS

1. Prep Hoop your fabric and stabilizer securely. Thread your machine with the 3rd color in the color chart.

You do not need to change thread for the placement or tack down stitch

The first color red is a placement stitch. The second color blue is the applique tack down stitch. The 3rd color is the first embroidery stitich that will be seen.

5. Remove hoop from machine do not remove the fabric from the hoop. You will now trim the fabric using the tack down stitch as a guide. You want to trim as close to the tack down stitch as you can without cutting the stitches.

Note: you can use applique scissors they have a flat edge to help guide you or the little curved ones.

6. Replace the hoop in the machine and finish sewing out your design.

7. Your design is now finished and ready for use.
