Reflexite® GP020 Garment Tape For application to EN471:2003 High Visibility garments
Reflexite® GP020 Garment Tape is a glass bead tape,
for sew-on applications. It is ideal for all standard common high visibility work wear garments. Reflexite
® GP020 Garment Tape exceeds the minimum
reflectivity requirements of EN471 Level 2.
Construction
Reflexite® GP020 Garment Tape is composed of wide-
angle, exposed retroreflective lenses bonded to a sewable fabric backing (65% polyester, 35% cotton).
Colour
Reflexite® GP020 Garment Tape is available in silver
(daytime appearance) with a white reflected color.
Reflectivity
Reflexite® GP020 Garment Tape exceeds the minimum
reflectivity requirements of EN471 Level 2, when tested at e = 0° or e = 90° in accordance with the procedures in EN471. Minimum coefficients of retroreflection are shown in Table I.
Machine Washing
ISO 6330:2000, Method 2A – 50 washes at 60°C
Dry Cleaning
ISO 3175:1998, Method 9.1 – 25 cycles
Application Instructions
Reflexite® GP020 Garment Tape is of a single layer
construction which allows for stitching in any area of the surface. A stitch count of 8 stitches per inch (2.54 cm) is recommended. The stitching should be at least 5/64” (2 mm) from the edge of the garment tape.
Shelf Life
Store in a cool, dry area and use within one year of receipt.

® GP010/GP020/GP030 Garment Trim are flexible, weather resistant tapes designed to be used on High
Visibility Garments, can be sewn to suitable background fabrics and exceed the photometric requirements of EN471 Level 2. GP030 also exceeds the requirements of EN469 and ISO 14116 Index 3. For more information on Reflexite
® GP010/GP020/GP030 Garment Trim tapes, please reference the Technical Product Bulletins, which are
available from local ORAFOL Reflective Solutions Ireland Sales Offices. We suggest the following measures are taken to achieve the optimum performance from the tapes.
Sewing to Garment Background Fabric Reflexite
® GP010/GP020/GP030 Garment Trim may be sewn onto high visibility garments.
1. Sewing Machine Settings – Recommended stitches per inch is 8 (eight). Reduce pressure on the
machine foot. A Teflon coated pressure foot can also help with sewing.
2. Background fabric – Whilst ORAFOL Reflective Solutions Ireland has carried out compatibility checks to
most of the readily available background fabrics, we cannot give an open guarantee that the chosen
background fabric is fully compatible. Please check with the manufacturer of the fabric before use. The
thread must be able to withstand the same wash and wear conditions as the material it is being applied to.
3. General – Do not stretch the tape as it is being applied. At the cut ends of the tape we recommend that the
tape is turned under itself and sewn through the doubled over edge. Where possible within the design of
the garment the cut ends should be inside the seams of the garment.
4. Sewing border – There is no defined sewing border on these tapes but we recommend sewing at 2-3mm
from the edge of the tape.
