It’s important to understand that your heart attack may not be a one-time event. Even though you’ve survived a heart attack, you’re at an even higher risk of having another one.

To help reduce your risk of having another heart attack or dying from one, your doctor will recommend a treatment plan that’s right for you. Your doctor may also recommend lifestyle changes, such as diet, exercise, and quitting smoking.

BRILINTA is a specific type of medicine called an oral antiplatelet (OAP). It can help protect you from having another heart attack or dying from one.

After plaque ruptures, platelets can gather and stick together to form another clot in your artery. And that can cause another heart attack. Platelets are cells that help stop bleeding.

BRILINTA helps stop platelets from reacting and forming a new and dangerous clot that could

cause another heart attack.
