Episode 04: Bush TuckerWhile city twin Yuma discovers bush tucker can involve strange looking honey ants and witchetty grubs, bush girl Kyanna tries hard to learn her city sister’s dance moves.

Episode 02: The First TestAfter swapping homes and families, twins Yuma and Kyanna realise it’s going to be tricky to swap back, with Kyanna facing a history test and Yuma meeting a snake in the bush.


Episode 03: Best Laid PlansUnable to swap places and return home, Yuma must learn to play bush football, while twin Kyanna adjusts to her volcano-building stepbrother Heath and discovers Sydney surf can be rough.

Episode 07: Lost in the DesertYuma manages to get lost in the desert, and reveals the truth about her twin sister Kyanna to her cousin Iona. Meanwhile, Kyanna has been suddenly dumped by Sasha as her dance partner.

Episode 05: The Water HoleOut in the bush, Yuma gets into trouble swimming with Aaron at a picturesque water hole, while twin Kyanna video calls Yuma so the pair can work out how to get back home.


Episode 06: Mean GirlsKyanna fears she’s ruined her sister’s chance to get into dance school, while her twin Yuma finds out about her mother and the secret of the water hole.

Episode 10: The AuditionThe twins conspire to get Yuma home to Sydney to perform in her rapidly approaching dance audition, but when Yuma arrives late, Kyanna is forced to step in and dance in her place.

Episode 08: Alien AlertYuma gets involved in traditional dot painting, while in the city Heath sets out to prove his stepsister Kyanna is in fact a memory wiped alien.


Episode 09: Two DollarsAfter Kyanna has a fight with Heath, the pair have to sort out a dispute between their mum and dad, while Aaron tries to lure twin Yuma away from a didgeridoo player by showing off his rapping skills.

Episode 13: Sand and SurfYuma’s family heads to Alice Springs, so everybody is on hand when the mystery of the twins’ separation at birth is solved, with explanations made, apologies given, tears shed, a dance by Yuma and Kyanna, and a screening of one of Aaron’s home movies.

Episode 11: Double DancingAfter Yuma passes her solo dance audition, the twins have to dance together in a duet before she can get into dance school, and in the process they blow Heath’s mind.


Episode 12: Going HomeAfter tearful farewells, Kyanna heads back to Alice Springs, but the twins remain determined to sort out the mystery of why they were separated at birth.

I Think...This series explores philosophical themes and inquiry in the classroom and features the unscripted voices of young children discussing philosophical concepts and ideas. It will assist your students in developing personal and social values, acceptance, reflection, and awareness.

ChangeThe rapid growth rate of children means they must contend with a constantly changing body. As they grow, they change their habits and attachments. The Munch Kids in this segment describe growth and transformation in two ways: first, as change involving clear stages, with the progression occurring at an identifiable moment. Secondly, growth occurring in imperceptible stages along a continuum until nothing of the former state remains.

CulturesIn this segment, the Munch Kids are both the subject and object of their inquiry into what makes people the same or different. The students explore family resemblance in relation to heredity - noting particular similarities and differences between parents and siblings.

The conversation turns to the question of inner identity and outer appearances. They wonder whether heredity is stronger than sharing family connectedness.

Connections and CommunitiesThroughout this discussion, the Munch Kids use the term ‘thread’ to describe the connection between things and the links that connect people. They see threads (connections) as both linear and emotional.

The kids also explore what is needed to call a group of people a community. They disagree over whether being part of a community involves a responsibility towards its members.

Mind, Brain and MemoryJoin the Munch Kids as they chat about memory and the act of remembering, the implications of losing one’s memory, and different analogies and metaphors used for describing the way we store our ideas and memories.

Identity, Perception and KnowledgeThe unit explores the connections between mind, brain, personality, face, names, and labels. How do we know who we are? And what is the importance of belonging and companionship?

The Munch Kids discuss the difference between feeling lost, being lost, and the concept of loneliness. They also talk about the different ways we interpret “rubbish” when it comes to trash, people and unreasonable situations.


ImaginationThe Munch Kids, interested in the relationship between dreams and reality, discuss whether there is such a place as a dream world. They also discuss magic as an example of created illusion. When watching a magician, our senses and our knowledge are in conflict, we know it is not real - or do we? How can we make sense of our involvement in, and emotional response to, illusions and fiction?
