Acolyting - Are you between the ages of 10 and 14 years old? If so, consider becoming an acolyte! Every service, the acolyte “brings the light of Jesus” into the church by lighting the altar candles. Please email Carol Krupinsky at [email protected] and we’ll get you trained and on the every 2 months schedule!

Sprouts will celebrate the end of the year with a potluck on Wednesday, April 25th, in Fellowship Hall. Sprouts - bring your family!

Register for Vacation Bible School and sign up to volunteer on the patio this morning, April 22nd, or in the church office. Operation Overboard ~ Dare to go Deep with God! VBS will be during the day this year from Monday, June 11th - Friday, June 15th, ~ 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. Children who turned 3 before Sept. 1, 2011 (and are potty trained) & children just completing Grades K-5. Cost: $20 for one child, $30 for two children and $40 for three or more children. Come spend a morning of fun and experience God’s love at VBS 2012!

The Explorer’s Class - Next Sunday at 8:50 a.m. (Note earlier time), Dr. Darvin Miller give a video presentation on the Desert Southwest Conference’s Mission Trip to Africa University and the Old Mutare

Mission in Zimbabwe, Africa. He will describe the purpose of the mission and his assessment of the impact that Africa University and United Methodism are having on the continent of Africa.

Contemporary Issues - Last week, the 10:30 Adult Contemporary Issues Class began a 3-week study about the protection and preservation of Sacred Native religious sites. We will view some short videos that describe these sites and discuss how important it is to protect them. These three weeks will be presented by Scott Russell, Professor of Archeology at Mesa Community College.

United Methodist Men Present: “100 Years of Song ~ Music and Song Commemorating Arizona’s 100th Anniversary” on Saturday, April 28, 2012, 6:30 p.m. Dinner: Steak / Game Hen / Salmon (Hamburgers & Hot Dogs for the kids). Cost: $25 for Adults / $10 for kids. Tickets available on the Patio.

Singles at Dayspring - Singles, Etc. Lunches - Each Sunday after the second service, those who want to go out for lunch as a group meet at the restaurant listed below. If you attend first service, please join us! We gather around noon under the name “Dayspring”. April 22 - Biscuits - 4623 E. Elliot, west of 48th Street, on the south side.

Brown Bag Lunch - Come join us for Brown Bag Lunch every Tuesday at noon. Bring your own lunch and socialize with people from the church. We always have a good time. Come and be a part of this fun group.

Connections is a Dayspring mission that advocates for the intrinsic worth of all persons, regardless of their sexual orientation. It offers support to and education about gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered persons and their families. It also hosts the Tempe PFLAG group meeting each first Friday of the month. Our clergy can provide names of “Connections” members for you to contact.

Cello Recital - Cellist Zachary Clark will be presenting a recital featuring music of Shostakovich, Elgar and others, next Sunday evening, April 29th

at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The recital will be presented without charge.
