Koinonikos - The May issue of the newsletter is available for pick up in the narthex for those who have chosen that option.

Thank You to all who helped host 3 families during Family Promise April 4-11. The families were very appreciative, and I believe they could really feel the love of the people of Dayspring. Thank you for making the families feel welcome, special, respected and loved. Our next turn to host is Aug. 8-15. We are always looking for new team members and love our seasoned teammates, too! Remember! Foundation Scholarships are available. Pick up applications for the Foundation Scholarship and the Pass It On Scholarship in the church office or on the Dayspring website at www.dayspring-umc.org/foundation. Due date for all scholarships is May 16, 2010.

Dayspring’s Sprouts Reminder - We will be celebrating our “End of the Year Party” this Wednesday, April 28th, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. See you there!

Dayspring Youth Ministry (DYM):**10:15 - 11:30 - Sr. High in Room 111**10:15 - 11:30 - Jr. High in Room 110**Youth Council Meeting: Today from 11:45-1:00PM in the Adult

Room. All Youth Council Members and any youth who would like to help with the planning of our youth group activities should attend. Please remember to bring your lunch.

**Hike & Cookout: Dayspring Youth will meet this afternoon to hike at Usury Park. We will spend a little over an hour hiking, then celebrate with a post-hike cookout. Please gather around the green gate at 3:00PM.**Confirmation Rehearsal: The confirmation class, along with parents, and mentors will meet on Wednesday evening April 28 in the Sanctuary beginning at 6:30PM to have a dress rehearsal for Confirmation Sunday. The class picture will be taken after rehearsal. Youth should come dressed as they would for Confirmation Sunday (Ladies should wear a skirt and blouse or a dress, gentlemen men should wear a shirt with a collar and a tie).

**Confirmation Class Pool Party: A Pool Party for the Confirmation class will be held on Saturday, May 1 at the Winkler home beginning at 1:30PM. Youth should bring drinks, chips, or simple deserts as previously selected. Maps will be emailed to the students and are available in the church office.

**Confirmation Sunday: Next Sunday (May 2) is Confirmation Sunday. Youth to be confirmed should be at the service a few minutes so that they may sit with their families and mentors.

College Age Ministry will meet for lunch next Sunday, May 2, immediately following the 10:30 worship service. For information, please contact Pastor Michael in the church office, (480) 838-1446.

The Explorer’s Class - The Explorer’s continue it’s study of “The Origins of the New Testament” each Sunday this month at 9:00 a.m. in the Adult Room. Dr. Bob Hall is facilitating this series featuring the writings of John Shelby Spong followed by class discussion.

Singles at Dayspring -Singles, Etc. Lunches - Each Sunday after the second service, those who want to go out for lunch as a group meet at the restaurant listed below. If you attend first service, please join us! We gather around noon under the name “Dayspring”. April 25 - Elephant Bar - 3405 W. Chandler Blvd., in front of Chandler Fashion Mall.

Brown Bag Lunch - On Tuesday, April 27th, we will meet at 11:30 a.m. in Room 112 for lunch. We will then leave for the Pyle Center at 12:00 p.m. to watch the movie “The Blind Side” at 12:30 p.m. in the Multi-media room. The movie is a little over 2 hours. Please join us!

UMOM Homeless Shelter Sunday Dinner volunteers needed! We need your help with the Sunday dinners on May 9 & 16, June 13, July 11 & 18, Aug. 8, 15 and 22. We would need your assistance in cooking and then serving at the center from 3:30 p.m. to approx. 6:30 p.m. Please contact Carolyn Reid at (602) 882-5292 or [email protected] to sign up.
