Meeting our school
• Our school opened in 1970, in temporary facilities. In 1984 it moved to the present building taking the name of the patron king –D.Manuel I – born in Alcochete and great stimulator of the Portuguese discoveries period (XV/XVI -centuries).

• Nowadays, the school has got 900 pupils
(from the 5th to the 9th grades and the
same grades for night school),105 teachers
and about 55 school employees.
• Our school has been developing several extra-curricular projects and clubs such as a Reading Club, a European Club, a Music Club, Cartoon, Sports, Science and Technology, Arts, Computer, Theatre, Ecology and a Program of Health Education.
