GRUPO BARRAQUEIRO A journey of discovery and innovation

GRUPO BARRAQUEIRO A journey of discovery and innovation
Barraqueiro pioneered public transport on the area north of Lisbon 1915 – First service connecting Lisbon and Ericeira

A shortage of petroleum during the war pushed the industry to find alternatives
Gasogen is produced through partially combusted wood or coal being transformed into a volatile gas. It is in turn fed to an internal combustion engine.

More recently Barraqueiro investigated the effects of using B7, B15 and B30 biodiesel
Later we also tested hydrogen ‘enhanced’ diesel combustion solutions. The system produced hydrogen on board through hydrolysis
Barraqueiro has also trialed several lubricants and fuel additives for reducing fuel consumption and emissions
