Blake Appleton Ride For Life Blake Appleton the amazing young man who is fighting the battle of his life with cancer was greeted with over 100 bikers on February 25th. This was an all out effort to help a young man whose courage has impressed so many people across the nation, Blake’s story has been told on Fox 35’s broadcasts. The Blake Appleton Fan Club and Tim Tebow are on Face Book. Blake’s extraordinary story of never ending courage is without a doubt, a cause worth supporting. I have covered literally thousands of events in my past 12 years of writing about all the good things bikers do, in those 12 years...nothing tops this event. There were times I saw tears in the eyes of great big grown men, there were times when I saw quarters being given to Blake by the hand full’s...Blake loves quarters. When a female biker heard him mention this she took him out-side and the money started flowing in like crazy. It all started out with Blake holding out his hands, then his hands could not hold them any-more, then they got him a 16oz cup...the cup filled up because bikers were putting 5’s 10’s and 20 dollar bills in the cup so they went and got an empty beer bucket. I was completely overwhelmed by the generosity of this group. Jim Iron/Ironhorse headed up the event. When the last bikes came in Iron had Blake on the back of his bike, the bikers outside clapped their hands and waved as he passed by, when Iron parked his bike the crowd surrounded his bike...you could tell that Blake was having the day of his life. Inside the Cruiser Band was put-ting on a great show, there were lots of door prizes and a big 50/50. With the anticipation of a large crowd Back Woods Bar & Grill had a special menu with good choices as well as drink spe-cials. Just to name a few raffles there was a Lap-top Computer and a two night stay on Daytona Beach.

This event made my day, I know we like to help all the people we can when we do events, but this one kind of tops my list. To see a child nine years old fight so hard with the major problem he has with cancer and show so much courage is simply amazing to all of us who had the opportu-nity to meet Blake. Anyone who wishes to help can send donations to Blake Appleton * P.O. Box 683464 * Orlando, FL 32868. Checks or Money Orders ONLY, make donations payable to Blake Appleton. More Pictures page 7. Out And About With Hark With two events to cover in one day I was sure I would not get in three, OH well!!! As luck would have it the third event came to me. It just hap-pened to be Mickey Damon’s bachelor party run, an event a group puts together from the Ocoee area every time a buddy is getting ready to tie the knot. The group was made up of all walks of life. Needless to say there was no shortage of making sure this would be a day Mickey would not forget, there must have been around 20 or so bikes in the group. First I met them at the Hideaway...then they told me they were headed to Anderson’s where I had already been previ-ously during the day covering The Ride For The Stone Event. Now I am invited to cover another wedding, something we at Rebel Rider Magazine

enjoy doing. The rest is pictures...can’t wait for your wedding Mickey...Hark

Mickey, since you could not be with me all day...I thought I would share this pic-ture with you I took earlier in the day.

Rank: Sergeant First Class

For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty:Sergeant First Class Paul R. Smith distinguished himself by acts of gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty in action with an armed enemy near Baghdad International Airport, Baghdad, Iraq on 4 April 2003. On that day, Sergeant First Class Smith was engaged in the construction of a prisoner of war holding area when his Task Force was violently attacked by a company-sized enemy force. Realizing the vulnerability of over 100 fellow soldiers, Sergeant First Class Smith quickly organized a hasty defense consisting of two platoons of soldiers, one Bradley Fighting Vehicle and three armored personnel carriers. As the fight developed, Ser-geant First Class Smith braved hostile enemy fire to personally engage the enemy with hand grenades and anti-tank weapons, and organized the evacuation of three wounded soldiers from an armored personnel carrier struck by a rocket propelled grenade and a 60mm mortar round. Fearing the enemy would overrun their de-fenses, Sergeant First Class Smith moved under withering enemy fire to man a .50 caliber machine gun mounted on a damaged armored personnel carrier. In total disregard for his own life, he maintained his ex-posed position in order to engage the attacking enemy force. During this action, he was mortally wounded. His courageous actions helped defeat the enemy attack, and resulted in as many as 50 enemy soldiers killed, while allowing the safe withdrawal of numerous wounded soldiers. Sergeant First Class Smith’s extraordinary hero-ism and uncommon valor are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, the Third Infantry Division Rock of the Marne, and the United States Army.

AM VETS POST 19 GRAND OPENING 10:30 Saturday morning March 3rd, my buddy Richard and I are meeting in Citra and riding to Ft. McCoy for the grand opening of AA VETS Post 19 but first we will hook up with Rolling Thunder 3 at the cross roads of cr.315 & 316 for the ride in. Ft. McCoy fire department was kind enough to let us use their drive way for bike parking and a good thing because there were at least 20 bikes. The post commander, Denny Gourm thanked all who came out to celebrate their new building and see their Fallen Heros Wall, and they have a full bar, game room and a very nice yard for outdoor cooking. Rolling Thunder Gainesville’s Chapter 3 set the POW/MIA table,

presented the colors and raised the flag, Good job guys and gals. If you ever get out near the Ocala Forrest, post 19’s address is 13131 cr.316, Ft. McCoy, across from the fire station, two miles east of the 4-way stop at 316 & 315. Thanks to all the nice folks at post 19 and to Rolling Thun-der 3 for a great job of handling the ceremony’s. RIDING S.O.B. (Covering Central Florida and All Roads to the

East Coast)

Well spring is finally here – not that we really had much of a winter. The next two months – until the rainy season gets here – is usually some of the best riding weather of the year. So what are you waiting for? Get out on the road! Wait, wait, you can finish reading this month’s issue of Rebel Rider first….. Another Bike Week has come and gone. I heard a few vendors say that people were spending a little more money this year, but just about everywhere that I went this year the crowds seemed to be way down.….. News reports vary saying anywhere from 9 to 12 bikers were killed in accidents during Bike Week depending on how far away from Daytona you counted. Most accidents I read about were caused by cage drivers – not paying attention, “didn’t see the bike”, or even drunk. Very sad….. Saw a tent set up during Bike Week to promote a 3rd Annual Hoka Hey Challenge. I can’t believe they’re still doing this. I’m not going to say any-thing bad about the run here – just Google it and you’ll find out all you need to know..... Hey – if you’re out and about on the north side of Orlando, stop on in at Sharky’s on Clarcona-Ocoee Road. Since Al’s taken over the place, they’ve really done a lot to be biker friendly, and they’ve been bringing in some great bands on the weekends….. Sunday, April 1st is the 11th An-nual “Mission Impossible” run to support the Ground Zro Racing Team. OJ and the team race in the AHDRA Pro Stock class and they came in 2nd in the nation last year. C’mon out to the Bar Out Back and help support this local racing team..... Speaking of the AHDRA, they’ve moved their season opening event away from Bike Week and Bithlo this year. The season starts on April 21 & 22 with the Florida Nitro Nationals in Gainesville. Always a good time….. It’s always a

great ride heading up Highway 17, north from DeLand, and you don’t want to miss stopping by the Brass Rail Lounge along the way. They have great free BBQ the second Sunday of the month (except for April this year with that being Easter), but you’ll sure want to look for it in May….. Until next month, I’ll be out riding the back roads of Central Florida and the East Coast, supporting the local establishments, local charity runs and local biker community - because here at Rebel Rider Magazine, that’s what we do. We’re not some West Coast biker rag that comes over for Bike Week and dumps a truck load of magazines in Daytona, only to hit the highway and not be seen again until Biketoberfest. We’re here for you 52 weeks a year. So if I don’t see you out on the back roads, I’ll see you here again next month. Be safe. -Brad [email protected] [email protected] 407-432-5845

All For Big Rick The flash of lighting and clanging of wind chimes outside my window startled me out of my warm n fuzzy haze. I rolled over and checked the clock; 3:03 am. March was roaring its way in and I sure hoped the morning sunrise would bring clear skies. It has been a while since my sister-girl Lexy has called on me to cover an event for her and I was so stoked to be helping her out and no matter the weather I would be there. As dawn broke on Sunday 3/4/2012 I stepped out on my front porch to a crisp, clear morning. I am guessing the temps were a little to chilly for my shovelhead, cause she would not cooperate (or maybe I didn’t let her warm up enough) so I arrived at the Bear’s Den in Fanning Springs fashionably late in a cage. It was not the grand entrance I had hoped for but as my sis Kat & I rolled up I realized the parking lot was packed full of bike and four-wheelers, so I knew this was gonna be a “Large Time”. Rick Rath or “Big Rick” as he is known by the locals here is loved by all for his willingness to cook & lend a hand whenever needed and now

he was in need. “Big Rick” is fighting a battle with that evil monster we call Cancer. Many thanks to CJ’s, Bubba’s, The Hitchin Post, Bear’ s Den, Chiefland Flea Market & folks who donated items for the auction. Nasty proved his auctioneer skills and as usual he worked the crowd. I was so impressed I raised my beer to him and he shouted out “We got $195.00 in the back” pointing to me. I held my breath for what seemed like eternity until I heard him claim “We got $200 up front” and I finally was able to ex-hale! I am not sure how I would have explained a new grill to my better half JohnBoy. As always there was an awesome spread of deli-cious food and the crowd must have worked up appetites because there were not too many left-overs. The ATM was emptied by the generous folks & remarkably in just 3 hours the total brought in was $4,200. That will surely help “Big Rick” cover some bills and concentrate on healing. I know almost everyone has been affected in some way by Cancer & to witness this extended family of Bikers & friends rally together every time there is a need makes me proud to be in-cluded. Open House at American Legion Post 16

Post 16 is located in Gator Country and on Feb-ruary 26, 2012 they had an open house with the district commanders as special guests. The Le-gion Riders set up a very nice booth with lots of photos, and had refreshments for everyone. Slick and Jon Boy was manning the Rider’s booth while some were in the bar watching the Day-tona races and munching out. Good job guys, great turn out. (Sorry for breaking your camera Buck Shot). Cruzin For Kids February 25th in Williston, Florida over 70 riders came together in support of the Williston Ele-mentary School Patrol their annual trip to Wash-ington DC. I never got an exact figure on the amount of money that was collected but I’m sure it was close to $1000.00. The kids from the school patrol assisted in getting the bikes parked in an orderly fashion and greeted all the riders as they entered the school grounds. There was coffee and donuts for everyone provided by the school and a 70 mile police escorted ride thru beautiful Levy County. I was amazed at the turn out, it was cold that morning too! Never let it be

said that the biker community is not always on stand-by ready to help our children, our vets and our local communities when there is a need. Good luck to the Williston School Patrol and a special thanks to the Levy County Sherriff’s De-partment for escorting the ride. Rebel Rider Duke

Party' in at the Fox Crossing

St. Patty’s Week end turned out to be as awe-some as it could get, the weather was perfect and there were party’s everywhere. On Saturday morning I headed out to do a little bar hopping at a few of my favorite places to see what was going on and it was green, green, green. My first stop was Georgies for corn beef and cabbage some brew skies then on to Saddle Bags, more brew skies and then to Char’s Place where I was greeted by two beautiful ladies tending the bar while Char was setting the table with more munchies, then on Sunday I’m at the Fox Cross-ing where a monster party is going on. This was an exceptional day for me as I got to have a few beers with my buddy Hark. John, owner of the Fox Crossing, was cooking up vittles, No Warn-

ing was kicking out some good ole Rock n Roll and as a special treat Mary Ann of Gilligan’s Is-land was there signing autographs and pictures. Several hundred people packed the bar, the deck, the yard and as usual John and his crew did an outstanding job of taking care of all the customers. If you are ever out in the Wiersdale/ Belleview area, stop in, have a cold one, say hi to John and his staff, he has the best and prettiest beer tenders around and if you are looking for some first class tattoo work, the Naughty Needle is right next door and also at the OEC complex in Ocala, Check them out, tell them Rebel Rider Duke sent ya. A Dream of Wings and Motorcycles On the first Saturday of March, a few of us left the Spring Ridge Firehouses’ monthly big break-fast and headed east for 60 some miles on quiet north Florida back roads. Our destination was the 5th annual Wings of Dreams Air Fest, held each year at the Keystone Heights Airport just south of Starke. Hosted by the Collins Founda-tion, the “Wings of Freedom Tour” is highlighted by the fly-in of a B-17 Flying Fortress, plus the world’s only fully-restored and operational B-24 Liberator and the rare, dual-controlled TP-51C Mustang, similar to the ones flown by the Tuske-gee Airman; plus lots of other types of military aircraft. In addition there were WWII fighter Aces, combat airman and WASPS, who shared their stories of wartime experiences in several symposiums held in the big hanger. As an ex MEL pilot, it was a special thrill for me to stand alongside a real B-17 and B-24, airplanes I had only seen in pictures as a kid growing up in the 40’s. I met with and listened to the daughter of a Liberator bombardier tell of her father’s war experiences. And, despite the high winds Satur-day, pilots were performing stunt flights, fly-over's and demonstrations of various aircraft. There was even a beautiful open cockpit WACO YMF5 biplane giving rides. If you can, mark your calendars for the 2013 Air Fest and help keep these memories alive in all us old guys and try to introduce young people to an era we must never forget. And now, on to the motorcycle display… On the west end of the tarmac, we found a big line-up of historical military motorcycles, com-plete with armaments, sidecars and some tow-ing small field pieces to add to our visual smor-gasbord of fun for the day. HD & Indian motor-cycles obviously played an important part in our war victories. There was even a German BMW R75 fully outfitted with mounted machine gun and a trailer full of gear. Later as we headed back west toward our homes, we experienced very high and blustery winds that had us gripping the handlebars tightly to keep from suddenly changing lanes. We were glad for tight fitting glasses as the wind blew sand and dirt in our faces for 2 hours and had the roads littered with tree trash. Oh well, any day on a motorcycle is a good one…regardless! Arriving home late in the day and a bit weary,

we could sit and reflect on the danger America’s greatest generation faced all over the world while fighting to keep our freedoms from being taken away by the despots. We who are benefit-ing from their sacrifices - salute them. More Pic-tures page 32. Respectfully submitted BUCKEYE

ABOUT IRON ORDER MC The Iron Order MC was started by a few hardcore bikers in a garage. These bikers came from different backgrounds and walks of life. They had a desire to share brotherhood and socialize together as a group of men sharing a like mindset. That is how the IOMC was started and how it is today. This is the heritage of the IOMC. We refuse to be dictated to by anyone as to who or what we have as members. We have learned many things about the MC world over the past years. We respect all clubs and support those that sup-port us. We are independent and choose to mind our own business. We started that way and we continue that way. We run our club by the very same MC rules established over 50 years ago by motorcycle clubs. We are not 1%ers. We are not a HOG chapter but most of our members do belong to HOG and many outside organizations such as ABATE and the Patriot Riders. We have chapters in 39 states and 5 countries. We also operate a sister club for Sport Bike called Iron Rockets MC. Our significant others wear an oval patch for the Iron Order Maidens. We have a very strong brother-hood between all chapters. We are independent therefore we do not belong to any asso-ciations. We have our own clubhouses, we have the same probationary and hang around traditions that MCs estab-lished many years ago and we stand together as brothers in our club. Those who have rode with us, partied with us, or know us, know we are bikers. Some have chosen a different road

because we do not waiver from our core values. We ride, party and mind our own business. We do not create prob-lems for our community or fellow bikers. We participate in charities that we feel benefit our communities and we sup-port our own. We are veterans, active duty military, con-struction workers, truck drivers, businessmen, cops, feds, cooks, and any other occupation you can think of. We are about motorcycles, brotherhood and enjoying the biker life-style. We are what we say we are and nothing more or nothing less. If you are law abiding, desire strong brotherhood and riding a motorcycle is not a solo event, maybe we are for you. If you are looking for something other that what we stand for then we are not for you. We are constantly asked…What is the IOMC? Don’t listen to the sidewalk com-mandos or the weekend warriors. Come by and meet us then you decide what the IOMC is and if we are you. Addi-tional information available at www.iromnordermc.com This information is presented by the Seminole County Chapter of the IOMC on behalf of IZOD – IOMC International President.

4TH ANNUAL SAM SWOPE CHARITY RIDE Sunday, March 11th was the date for the 4th An-nual Sam Swope Charity Ride. For the last sev-eral years, the ride was held in February, but this year it was moved to the first weekend of Bike Week with the hope of attracting more out of town riders that were here for the rally. I’m not sure if the schedule change brought in more riders, but the weekend rain sure didn’t help. I was told that there were a number of people that were pre-registered that didn’t show be-cause of the weather, but even with the rain, there were still several hundred riders at the Ba-hia Shrine Temple on Sunday morning ready to go. The Sam Swope Ride is an annual event pre-sented by the Bahia Shrine to raise money for the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Sam Swope, who splits his time between Florida and Ken-tucky, started a similar ride in Kentucky 13 years ago and has been hosting the Florida ride for 4 years now. Last year’s Florida ride raised $210,000.00 dollars, the largest single day fund raiser in Bahia Shrine history. So, $30 to sign up on the day of the ride, $25 if you pre-registered, may sound like a lot - but when you consider it included breakfast, lunch, a ride pin and t-shirt, and door prize and raffle tickets, it was really a pretty good deal. Eggs, sausage, grits, OJ, coffee, and all-you-can-eat pancakes are a great start for any ride, and after a short briefing, everyone was ready to roll. The rain even started to cooperate, it had been rain-ing most of the morning, but things eased up for the ride - an approximately 40 mile, escorted run through Seminole County over to Seminole Harley-Davidson. Last year there was an issue with the “escorted” part of the ride – the Orange County Sheriff’s Department bailed out at the last minute – so this year the Shriners called in the Florida Highway Patrol, and along with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Department, they did a great job and the ride went off without a hitch. When we got to Seminole H-D, everything was set up and ready. There was a stage and a cou-ple of tents in the parking lot for the band, but with the on and off again rain, the door prizes, raffle and live and silent auctions were moved to the covered area in front of the building. It was a little cramped, but no one really seemed to mind. Everyone was there to raise money for a great cause and by the time the live auction had started, some people had really opened their

wallets up. A lot of the auction items went for way above their actual value, but you could tell the people bidding were all having fun pushing to out do each other and help the charity as much as possible. The Shriners even raffled off a Heritage Classic at $100 a ticket and the winner donated the bike back to the cause! The Sam Swope Ride is always one of the big-gest rides of the year and a little rain sure was-n’t going to slow it down this year. Last year set a record with $210,000.00 raised and every year the goal is to do even better. Well this year they really out did themselves by raising a whopping $270,000.00! A big thank you really needs to go out to Sam Swope and the Bahia Shrine, who along with the many volunteers, Florida Highway Patrol, Seminole County Sheriffs, and Seminole H-D, really did a truly amazing job! Travel Safety -Top Tips This article is actually (partially) an excerpt from my new book - ”Focused On Protection”-Protect Yourself. I cover all sorts of safety and protection items in the book including traveling safely, indentity theft protection, home and garden safety, etc. The book is available FREE to any Rebel Rider Reader if you would like a copy just shoot me an email with your name and address, or call the office and tell them you are a Rebel Rider Reader and you would like a copy of my book. [email protected] Many of us take this time of year to take extended trips, either on the Bikes or with the family. So I thought I would pass along some of my top tips for safe travel. In my book I actually have nine but these are a good start 1. Planning Begins at Home. You can't have a great vacation/ road trip if you spend your time wor-rying about the security of your home. And people who might need to contact you will have a bad time if they don't know where you are. Here's a checklist of things to do:

● Make a copy of your itinerary, with contact details, and give it, with a key and informa-tion on where important documents, like wills, are to be found, to a relative or acquaintance you trust.

● Let a close neighbor you trust know you're leaving and ask them to keep an eye on your home. They can also watch out for doorstep package deliveries and put out your trash can.

● Cancel your newspapers and hold your mail. It's easy to order a hold on mail online or by phoning your local USPS customer service branch.

● Make it look like you're still at home. Arrange for your lawns to be mowed and gardens tended, and set up timers to switch lights on and off.

2. Know where it's at. Thanks to the Internet, it's so easy these days to find all the information you might need about the place(s) you're staying and vis-iting. And the best time to acquire that knowledge is before you leave.

● Do a search on the name of your location, download maps, check out medical facilities, the police department and learn about things to do and unsafe areas.

● Even if you don't have an Internet connec-tion, phone the tourist office or your hotel, asking for brochures and maps. Buy or order a street map from your local bookstore.

3. Be Prepared. Use that well-practiced Boy Scout motto. Here's a must-have list to start you off

● All documents – such as travel tickets, hotel confirmations, passports.

● A contact list in case you need to get in touch

with people back home. ● Prescription medications for the time you're

away, plus a few spares. ● A travel first aid kit, a sewing repair kit, a

small flashlight and a penknife. ● If you wear reading glasses, take a spare pair. ● Pack weather-appropriate clothing. I ● Spare batteries and/or rechargers for elec-

tronic equipment. ● A note of serial numbers of any valuable items

you plan to take – like cameras and notebook PCs.

But … · Leave other valuables and spare credit cards in a home safe or safety deposit box. Travel light. It's easier to move around in busy places. Here’s hoping that if you do get out and do some traveling this season that it is relaxing, enjoyable, and mostly a Safe experience. Ride For The Stone It was about as nice a day as you will find early March in Florida. I am so happy it was because The Ride For The Stone Poker Run needed all the help they could get. The event which started three years ago contin-ues to grow. Ride For The Stone was started because of someone who could not afford a grave marker for their child, wouldn't you know it…a biker says...enough of this, we need to start an event to help people like this. I have not heard how much money was raised for this event, but from what I saw at Anderson’s Lake Harris Pub and from what Brad saw at the ending location Lake Monroe Inn there had to be nearly one hundred bikers that showed support. Doing a little research I found the average cost of a grave stone can be anywhere from $500.00 to $3000.00. What the organizers of Ride For The Stone are doing really shows how much bikers open their wallets and hearts to insure those who really need help putting a grave stone on their Childs grave have the help they need. Ride For The Stone is a very well organized group, they have several people on this team that manage the money they raise. All the money goes to buying grave markers for children. God Bless All Of You Who Support This Event...Hark * Push and the Rebel Rider Family. More pictures page 51

Shamrock and Jalopy Joe’s St. Patrick’s Day This has got to be the best job a person can have riding your bike around to great locations covering events. St. Pat’s Day stared out at The Shamrock in Leesburg where Push and I were greeted by Katie and Peter the owners who had their annual Free Corned Beef and Cabbage with all the fixings going on. For those of you who went out and paid the big bucks for this meal...Sorry to tell you...You Blew It. This was the best Corned Beef and Cabbage I have per-sonally ever eaten in my life, I am not telling you this to make Shamrock look good, I am tell-ing you this because it is a fact. Katie told me they ordered 300 pounds of corned beef for the event. I had two plates along with a few ice cold ones. We didn't just show up to eat, we took a lot of pictures and made many new friends. A very special Thank You to Katie and Peter for all you do. Next stop was Jalopy Joe’s in Zellwood. More Free Corned Beef and Cabbage prepared the ole fashion way with way too many birthday cakes going on the same day...I think I counted three. Joe gives away a free BD Cake at his place every

time someone has a birthday. Needless to say, when the day was over, Push and I were not hungry. We spent about 30 bucks or so on cold ones and did not pay a dime for food. If you’re here for Leesburg Bikefest...ya have to check out both locations...Hark * Push More Pics 54

Peter...are you washing dishes? What an owner!

Out n About in March

I am partial to the month of March since my birthday is during the first week ! Any excuse to celebrate will do for me so I started “Lexypaloosa” out at Willard's Bar and Grill. It is Bike Day the first Sunday of the month. The country ride out there was beautiful and warm. Tom, owner of Willard's taught us how to play Corn hole. Apparently the game is popular up north and he wants to bring it south. In fact they will have a tournament at the Spring Bikefest paying out a chunk of cash. Hope to see ya’ll out there April 6,7,8 for an awesome old fashioned bike fest. I love this event and highly recommend the ride. Next up we rode over to Fanning Springs to say hi to Big Rick and rolled up just as his benefit was wrap-ping up. I did enjoy a great big birthday hug from him and decided turning 40 isn't so bad! Let me tell you as the sun went down so did the temperature. My girlfriend Crystal wanted a ride so bad she rode my fender and when we arrived at her place I borrowed a scarf and bundled up. So hard for me to wrap “Lexypaloosa” up so I kept going. Brrrrrrrrr. Mid month I continue to celebrate and hubby and I rode over to Ocala Mini Speedway to check out flat track bike racing. What fun. My little friend Cassie even won her class. My friend Val who has three boys

racing and winning helped me understand how the heat races work and it was really neat to watch them take the turns and fly around the track. Best of all I got to ride side by side with my husband, a rare treat, In fact I think it was a date! Not one to stop the party I decided to spend St. Patrick’s day riding. First I cruised over to Ocala Harley-Davidson and fanta-sized about which new Harley would be mine! I gotta say I love the Street Bob! They were serving corn beef and cabbage, it was delicious. Also cold beer, all free! I enjoyed talking to some old friends, making some new ones and checking out the bikes. Next I hooked up with riding buddy Tracey and we rode over to a new bar on 27 where we brought some maga-zines and enjoyed a cold St. Patty’s day beer. The bar is in a great place for bikes to take a break and I hope to see it succeed. Out here in the country the watering holes are few and far between. That being said I still had plenty of fun for “Lexypaloosa” and now I will start thinking of things to celebrate in April. Hope to see ya’ll out rid-ing and we can celebrate together. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAINESVILLE HARLEY DAVIDSON

February 19 years ago Ray and Gail Lytle, along with two little boys, opened Gainesville HD. Sev-eral years later Ray was killed in a helicopter crash leaving his wife Gail at the helm, and with the boys growing up in the business, together they have kept it alive and thriving. GHD, in my opinion, ranks among the best all around dealer-ships that I’ve been to. I can’t tell you how many riders were there but as usual the place was packed to the max. The band Efen provided us with foot stomping, hand clapping music, there were lots of vendors, drawings, and a balloon drop with prizes, gift cards. Etc. inserted in the balloons, man, these folks know how to put a party together, and it seems like each time I go to one of their partys they get bigger and better. To the Intrepid Brothers M/C, it was great meet-ing you guys and I’ll do my best to get to your 4th annual Fallen Heros ride. These guys gener-ated $120 million in support of The Intrepid Fallen Hero Fund so support them when you can. Big thanks go out to Hunter of WIND-FM, our favorite classic rock station, for doing such a

good job of m/c’ing. Happy Birthday GHD, and many more to come…..You guys ROCK!! Rebel Rider Duke
