First and foremost, it is important to talk about all of the wonderful treats!

Pastries, cookies, cakes… and more! There are so many adjectives to describe how delicious they are, yet the ravenous sounds of lip-smacking, mouth-watering, yummy munching goodness would seem more appropriate… if I could only phonetically spell those types of sounds.

Pastry Peddler first made their appearance at the Peterborough Farmer’s Market, and have since opened a storefront location in Millbrook. A quick drive out to the scenic countryside is rewarded by the decadent fixings they prepare.

You must try their lunches! Sandwiches, Soups, Salads…and of course more! Their daily lunch specials are a feast worth exploring. You might even consider taking advantage of their Picnic-Basket service, and enjoy a walk along Baxter Cadvantage of their Picnic-Basket service, and enjoy a walk along Baxter Creek in the Millbrook Conservation area on a nice sunny day. This is a great alternative to franchise fast-food, with a better view!

You will also want to investigate their Catering Service and Cooking Courses. When you need to feed a crowd, Catering is the way to go. But an interesting option for a small gathering of 4 – 8 people is an evening of cooking, learning & eating in the comfort of your own home. They bring the ingcomfort of your own home. They bring the ingredients, recipes and Pastry Peddler Chefs. This is a dinner party worth trying!

Colin Hall & Deanna Bell-Hall are the peddling force behind the pastries and eats. Their excellent service and delicious products will keep you coming back for more.

Cars, Vans, Trucks… no matter what you drive, maintenance and repair is a must. Some of us are skilled enough ( and have the right tools ) to do our own servicing. Some of us just THINK we know enough to do our own servicing. And most of us just realize that we have neither the time nor know-how to really begin looking under the hood… much less anywhereelse under the vehicle. Theelse under the vehicle. There are many places in Peterborough that offer automotive service, but the one spot that we use the most is DOUGLAS AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dave and Dan, Rob, Shane & Jeff for the excellent service they have provided to us over the years. Fast, Friendly and Reliable, we can always count on these gentlemen at DOUGLAS when car issues arise.

The next time your vehicle needs servicing, I The next time your vehicle needs servicing, I recommend giving DOUGLAS AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR a call. They have never let us down, and I am confident that you will find the same!

Spring is here, and it’s time to take the winter tires off !I take this very seriously. Our wheels carry us, and connectus to the road, and it is important to inspect for any build-up, wear or damage that may have occured over the winter months. I trust the gentlemen at Douglas Automotive Repairwith more than my vehicle... I trust them with my safety.

Now that your house is sold and you are getting prepared to move to your new home, it’s never too early to start planning your move. In fact it is a good idea to start early, before your house is sold, even before you list your home for sale.

Here are a few suggestions for getting prepared prior to listing:

Purchase or source packing supplies ~ Tape, Boxes, Bubble Wrap or Paper etc. Create a folder to keep any important documents that will be required for the sale of your house. Don’t forget to include any receipts of renovations or repairs done on your home as well as Utility Bills, Property Tax and Mortgage Info.

Start filling those boxes. Now is the time to start packing. Go through each room, de-clutter and clean as you go. Pack away the items that you are not currently using and plan to keep for you next house. Don’t forget to label your boxes, with the contents and the room they are from. Be sure to store your boxes out of sight, but ensure they are in a safe location.

Clean and organize those closets and storage areas. Including the garage and the basement. If you have items that you feel might not need to move with you consider having a garage sale, or posting items on Kijiji. Or donate them to a local charity that would welcome the items.

Now that your house is sold and you have moving date…

Consider how you plan to move your home on moving day. Will you hire a Moving Company, rent a truck or enlist your Friends and Family. Whichever method you choose, be sure to provide enough notice to ensure availability.

If you are hiring a Moving Company ask for a written estimate along with the list of services they provide. After reviewing your options book your move. Be sure to consult with the company you have chosen, how best to prepare.

If you are moving yourself and you plan to rent a truck, be sure to book the truck as early as possible to ensure availability. Consider the size and the quantity of items within your home when you are booking your truck.

Friends and Family can be wonderful support during the move, but don’t forget to arrange….ask them. Never assume.

Only a few weeks away from moving day…

Keep emptying those rooms and filling the boxes. You’ll appreciate what you have done in advance, especially as moving day approaches. especially as moving day approaches.

Contact any services companies that provide a service to you home on a regular basis. Notify them and be sure to leave their contact information for the Buyers of your home. This could include Landscape Maintenance or Pool Companies.

If you have Children attending school and you will be relocating to another school, be sure to notify their current school of the upcoming move. As well be sure to register your son or daughter in their new school that they will be attending once you move.

Arrange with Canada Post for a change of address. Having your mail redirected for a period of time After you move into your new home is a good idea. With lots to prepare for your move that magazine subscription that you receive every two months might miss your list of address changes. This can even be done online and can be for a period of 6 or 12 months. Visit www.canadapost.ca for more information and the links to complete.
