Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge

of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and

count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ. (Philippians 3:8-9, NKJV)

God makes abundantly clear that nothing is to take precedence over our relationship with Him. In

Matthew 6:33 we find these words: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all

these things shall be added to you. The spiritual principle is that God comes first in everything and,

as we acknowledge and practice that, He provides what we need. His command applies to every ar-

ea of our lives. Part of the application of that command comes through the practice of simplicity.

Simplicity is the recognition that we dont need more in our lives and it is the process of reducing

what we have to focus on that which is really important. What is most important is living a life ofobedience and submission that brings God glory. In doing so we recognize that possessions and

money are not inherently bad. They only become so as we elevate acquisition or hoarding above our

service and devotion to God. Through simplicity we seek to remove those things that are not needed

or advantageous to our service to the Lord.

Saving and investing are wise financial decisions. All of us face unforeseen circumstances as well as

the necessity to prepare for our later years. But beyond the necessities, what is the standard for in-

vestment? We find it in Matthew 6:19-21: "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where

moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in

heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For

where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Join with me in committing to putting the things of God first. Join me in opening our eyes and hearts

to the opportunities to invest in that which has eternal value.

    Keep the faith.

MISSIONS AUCTION & FISH FRY Our annual missions auction & fish fry will be held here at ourchurch again this year. Be sure to mark the date (Friday, May 9) and plan to support this annualmissions fund raiser. If you have not yet seen the display of auction items in the breezeway by thechoir suite, be sure to take a walk through there to see the many nice items already available for the auction. Ifyou or your Sunday School class would like to donate gift baskets or other items for the auction, please be sure to

contact Melvin Moses who heads up this annual event. We appreciate the efforts of Melvin and his team ofvolunteers who help to make this annual event such a success each year.

We are pleased to announce that Dani & Gia Hardut will be with us duringthe weekend of April 11-14. Pastor Dani is another recipient of our financialsupport through the Faith Promise Offering. He is involved in the pastoralleadership of several churches and mission points in Oltenia (south Romania),including churches which we have helped to build at Groserea and Floresti. We are so grateful that God has made it possible for the Harduts to be in theUnited States for two weeks in April. This will be their first visit to our countryas well as to our church. Pastor Dani & Gia will be sharing with us during the6 p.m. evening service on April 13 and will also be at our Missions Fair on

April 12. It will be a great blessing for many of us to finally meet the Harduts face-to-face and to get a fresh reporton the work that God is doing in south Romania. And for those who have been to Oltenia, this will be a good timeof reunion with them. Dani and Gia have three children, Timothy (age 7) and Ruth and Lucas (twins, age 4). Theywill remain in Romania during their parents visit to the U.S. Please be in prayer for Dani and Gia as they preparefor their first visit here in the U.S. and for their children during the time they will be apart.

Faith Promise Offering (FPO) Update After seeking Gods leadership, our Missions Committee challenged ourchurch family with a Faith Promise Offering goal for 2014 that represented a 13.8% increase over last years FPObudget. We knew this would be a challenging budget which would require faith and a sacrificial response from ourchurch family. In addition to important mission causes and ministries we have supported in the past, the FPObudget for this year includes new support for Rolling Hills Ministriesand Purchased: Not for Sale(The HubUrban ministries) as well as increased support for Northeast Fellowship Church(a new church plant in Aurora,Colorado). Through the FPO we also continue to support our disaster relief chainsaw ministry, the Crisis

Pregnancy Center, Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission, our own missionary residence, our annual World MissionsConference, the upcoming Belize mission trip, Romania missions, hunger relief, and the Annie Armstrong, Georgia

Barnette, and Lottie Moon mission offerings.

Because of the importance of each of the mission causes mentioned above, I wanted our church family to beaware that our FPO giving for this year is already running several thousand dollars below our budget goal. I sharethis as a matter of prayer as we continue to partner with the mission causes God has led us to support through theFaith Promise Offering. If you have been faithful in supporting the FPO, THANK YOU for doing so. If you have notbeen giving to the FPO or have perhaps fallen behind in your giving, I encourage you to prayerfully consider whatGod would have you do to support the mission causes mentioned above (which should be over and above yourtithes and regular church budget support, of course).

Lottie Moon Update-While on the subject of our FPO, I would also remind you that the recipient of the largest

amount of support from our Faith Promise Offering is the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Nearly 22 cents of everydollar given to the Faith Promise Offering goes to support Lottie Moon. The Lottie Moon offering in turn supportsover 5,000 international missionariesincluding many of those who have been a part of our World MissionConferences over the past 18 years as well as these couples who have stayed in our missionary residence whileon stateside assignment (Neil & Leanne Treme; H. Ray & Nancy Chafin; Sam & Lisa Paris; and Steven & KaoriJames). In February we sent our annual contribution to Lottie Moon. This year we were able to contribute a totalof $22,303to that offering ($17,878 of which came through our Faith Promise Offering and $4,325 in direct gifts forLottie Moon). You can be sure that your gifts to the FPO and to Lottie Moon are making a difference in the lives ofthe more than 5,000 missionaries we support as well as the people to whom they witness and minister around theworld.

Sunday School (for all ages) 9:15 a.m.

    Wednesday Prayer Service 6:30 p.m.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is

eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesusand believe in your heart that God has raised Himfrom the dead, you will be saved. For with the heartone believes unto righteousness, and with the mouthconfession is made unto salvation.

Sin separates us from God. God offers forgivenessthrough belief in the life, death and resurrection of HisSon, Jesus Christ. Accepting Gods offer of salvationmeans we are saved from an eternity separated fromGod.

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and thelife. No one comes to the Father except through

    Me.

    Cross Brand Cowboy ChurchHowdy Folks,

Here it is already April. Prayerfully we wont have too many April showers to get in the way of us be-

ing able to bring our horses and ride in the arena on Thursday nights. We have had many people say they

would love to come and see the horses. So I would encourage everyone who is able to bring their horse, to

    please do so.

Speaking of horses, just wanted to give everyone a heads up on what is on our calendar in May. As

most of you know already, May 10th is the Poke Salad Festival Parade. This year Cross Brand Cowboy

Church is planning to participate. Let me impress on yall how important it is for anyone and everyone to

come and take part. There will be 3 parts to our entry. #1 will be a trailer carrying our Chuck Wagon, #2 will

be a trailer for non-riders and last but certainly NOT LEAST, will be the HORSES. So if you have a horse that

you feel can be ridden in the parade (a current negative coggins is required), please, please plan to come andhelp us as we represent one of FBCBs greatest ministries. Remember, the more the merrier!

Dont forget Potluck on April 10th. Come (bring a favorite dish if you can) and enjoy the food, fun, and

fellowship followed by a great church service. Well, I guess thats about it. Again I invite you to join us every

Thursday night at Cross Brand Cowboy Church. If you dont, you are really missing something!!!
