A STEWARDSHIP MOMENT FOR
DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY
In today’s first reading from the Acts of the Apostles
we hear it proclaimed that many “signs and wonders”
were performed in public by Christ’s followers, a
demonstration that produced two results. First, the
people of Jerusalem outside the Christian community
were awed by what the disciples were performing.
And in the midst of all this amazement, many were
being converted.
Good stewards know of the evangelizing power
emanating from their daily acts of love, compassion,
kindness and generosity. They believe that if they stay
focused on Christ each day, every act has the power
to transform a broken world. What “signs and
wonders” will we perform today?
Special thanks to Pat Carambat
for her donation to the St. Joan of Arc
Chancel Choir for the Easter Triduum.
This donation was made in memory of
Aubrey M. Coniglio, Mervin J. Guillot,
Kevin Richoux, Curtis Roberts,
Living and Deceased members of the
Breaud-Hebert & Carambat-Roussel
families. And in Thanksgiving to our Lord,
His Angels and Saints for favors granted -

To the Clergy, Religious and Laity
of the Archdiocese of New Orleans

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ:

The Archdiocese is truly blessed by the service of many holy
and dedicated priests, especially our retired priests, who have
served our Archdiocese so faithfully. We currently have over
fifty retired priests, many who continue to serve in our
archdiocese in many ways.

The annual retirement collection on Good Shepherd Sunday,
May 1112, 2019, is used to support the medical and retirement
expenses of these priests.

Your participation in this collection is a way to say “thank you”
to our retired Archdiocesan priests for their many years of
service to us, the Church of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. I
assure you that your support will benefit the priests for many
years to come.

As you know, this observance is on Mother’s Day. As we thank
God for our mothers, living and deceased, we can also give a
gift to our spiritual fathers on that day.

Please join me daily in prayer for vocations to the priesthood
that others may follow in their footsteps to give their lives to be
good shepherds in leading the flock of Christ.

With gratitude for your generosity and wishing you God’s
blessings in this Easter Season, I am

Sincerely in Christ,

PRAYING THE DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET
Begin with the Our Father, Hail Mary, and the Apostles
Creed. Using regular rosary beads, work your way around
the five decades with the prayers below.
On the standalone beads, pray: "Eternal Father, I offer you
the body, blood, soul, and divinity of your dearly beloved
Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and
those of the whole world."
On the decade beads, pray: "For the sake of his sorrowful
Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world."
At the end, pray the following three times: "Holy God, Holy
Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on
the whole world."
It is typical to conclude the Divine Mercy Chaplet with the
words: "Jesus, I trust in you."
