Gamma Omicron-at-Large Chapter
Vallire Hooper PhD, RN, CPAN, FAAN is the Nurse Scientist Scholar at Mission Health System in Asheville, NC. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, where she serves on the Quality and Acute and Critical Care Expert Panels. Dr. Hooper has also served as the Co-Editor for the Journal of PeriAnesthesia Nursing for 20 years. She has over 30 years of experience in the area of perianesthesia nursing as a staff nurse, clinical nurse specialist, and research scientist. Her research interests focus on health services and patient outcomes research, with current studies exploring nursing burnout and compassion fatigue, telewound care, unplanned intraoperative hypothermia and postoperative delirium, PACU adverse events, and factors impacting risk for postoperative pressure injury.
