Tentative Plan for This Week:

1. Monday-Wednesday: Pre and Post-film discussion activities and finishing the

film

2. Thursday: Mini-FISHBOWLS [second TKAM practice] by rows with ROW WORK assigned Monday

3. Friday: Final Quiz on TKAM –open note and book OR start the Great Depression / TKAM Headline Newspaper Project

Tentative Plan for Next Week:

If we started the Great Depression project Friday, then there will be a group quiz on Monday.

If we took the quiz Friday, then….

Monday-Wednesday: Work on “character and culture” – two practice and the third is a quiz

Thursday: Introduction ? of mini research and writing project on the world of TKAM and the Great Depression

Friday: Work day? Need to check computer lab reservations which may reorder plans for this week.

2.Participate in physical debates & discussions with peers relating to TKAM

3.Continue to practice your discussion & peer evaluation skills in a mini FISHBOWL for the upcoming final exam

You must be able to explain…

I now understand the whole “Mrs. Dubose-Jem” incident through the lens of courage and why the flower in the box for Jem is a sign of Mrs. Dubose’s forgiveness [theme] of Jem for ruining her flowers

If I had been Mrs. Dubose, I would have forgiven Jem: Discuss

I believe Atticus did the right thing in having Jem read to Mrs. Dubose:

? Did he “repay” for the damage he’d caused?

? How did he get to see real courage – not a man with a gun—courage in personal strength to do the right thing?
