Newsletter APRIL—JUNE 2015 Cabramatta Canley Vale Canley Heights Lansvale LUNAR NEW YEAR 2015 Good fortune filled the Cabramatta Town Centre during the two day Lunar New Year celebration that took place on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 February 2015. Lunar New Year in Cabramatta welcomed an estimated 12,000 locals and visitors. The event showcases Fairfield City Council’s commitment to a diverse and inclusive com- munity as part of a calendar of events held throughout the year. The festival kicked off on the Saturday, as the Australian Chinese Youth Sports Fed- eration led their lions to the Blue Star Air Conditioning Stage and opened the high energy entertainment program. The crowds were in awe by the astonishing twists and bends performed by the Shaolin Kung Fu demonstra- tion group and there was plenty of jaw dropping moments as the Parkour stunt enthusiasts Team 9Lives and the Dong Thanh Alliance martial arts groups kept audiences on the edge of their seats. However, it was Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that fascinated fans of all ages as they waited in anticipation to see their favourite heroes live on stage. The rain didn’t dampen spirits as people came out in full force to cheer on the action packed shows which were proudly presented by Platinum Sponsor Peter Warren Auto- motive. The fun continued as challengers took to the stage for the Cabramatta Bowling Club food competitions, spe- cially hosted by Cleo’s Bachelor of the Year 2014 – Thien Nguyen. 2014 X Factor contestants Tee & Elenoa Rokobaro were also on hand and belted out some popular tunes that had audiences swaying to the music. Day two turned up the heat as our local Head Chefs from Iron Chef Chinese Seafood Restaurant and Fair- field Hotel’s Green Peppercorn Restaurant conducted cooking demonstrations, enticing crowds with their exquisite aromas and satisfying taste buds with the delicious food samples. Dutton Lane was transformed into the Cabra-Vale Diggers Amusement area where children enjoyed a vari- ety of games and jumping castles including the inflatable vertical challenge, proving a lot of fun on the day. The Lu Group Farm Animals display was a huge success as visitors could pat, hold, and take photos with their favourite farm animals. This year’s special feature of course was the baby goat! The entertainment program across both days provided a variety of vibrant performances by local groups and showcased the professional cultural talents in our community. Once again the Cabramatta Lunar New Year Festival lived up to its reputation and was hugely enjoyed by those that attended the event.

DUTTON LANE DEVELOPMENT
Major construction work on Dutton Lane commenced on 16 March 2015. Subject to weather, it is anticipat-ed that the development will be completed by the end of 2015. The development will feature a new three storey building that will provide more retail shops, office space, 275 car spaces and new and improved community facilities in the Cabramatta Town Centre.

POSITIVE RESULTS FROM CABRAMATTA TOWN CENTRE BIN UPGRADES
In February, Fairfield City Council upgraded a large number of the town centre bins across Cabramatta Town Centre and installed 3 designat-ed smoking areas. The bin exchange has made a positive visual impact on the area as well as re-duced staff time in cleaning litter from the area. The bin upgrade has dramatically reduced the amount of rubbish on and around the bins which has also reduced litter throughout the city centre. In conjunction with the upgrades, Council’s Waste Enforcement Group have been talking to business-es about the appropriate waste disposal methods and not using the town centre bins for their shop waste. Council would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for their continual efforts in keeping Cabramatta clean.
CANLEY VALE COMMUTER CAR PARK
The new multi-storey commuter car park construc-tion at Canley Vale is now underway. This Transport for NSW project will feature a three-storey design to provide approximately 90 additional commuter car parking spaces, untimed commuter car parking spaces, timed spaces for shoppers, accessibility fea-tures such as stairs and lifts, and customer safety features such as security lighting and CCTV. CABRAMATTA MOON FESTIVAL SUNDAY 27 SEPTEMBER 2015
This year’s Cabramatta Moon Festival will be held on Sunday 27 September. Fairfield City Council would like to offer businesses and the community a range of opportunities to showcase their prod-ucts and support the Moon Festival and Cabramatta. HOW YOU CAN BE INVOLVED Sponsorship - by becoming a sponsor of the event you will be provided with media exposure and a range of other benefits depending on the sponsorship level. Sponsor-ship closes 25 May 2015. Supporter - you can support the event by donating prizes which can be used for competitions or by providing goods or services associated with the festival. Lantern Supporter - become a lantern supporter by contributing $100 towards Cabramatta Moon Festival. In recognition of the support, a lantern with the business name will be displayed in Freedom Plaza in the weeks leading up to the event. Appli-cation closes 8 May 2015. Good Food Month - OCTOBER 2015 Our vibrant town centres are renowned as a must visit food destination but sometimes, with so much to choose from, diners don’t know what to try from the menu. The Signature Dishes promotion has been extremely successful for the past five years, with businesses reporting an increase in sales during October. Council once again is inviting food businesses in Cabramatta, Canley Vale and Canley Heights to be a part of the Signature Dishes promotion. TẾT NGUYÊN ĐÁN 2015 Lễ hội Tết Nguyên Đán tại Cabramatta đã diễn ra vào hai ngày 21 và 22 tháng 2 năm 2015 tại Trung tâm thị trấn Cabramatta và chào đón khoảng 12.000 người địa phương và du khách đến tham dự. Lễ hội đã minh chứng cho sự tận tâm của Hội đồng Thành phố Fairfield nhằm mang lại sự đa dạng và toàn diện cho cộng đồng và cũng là một phần lịch trình của các sự kiện trong năm.
Lễ hội bắt đầu vào ngày thứ Bảy với sự xuất hiện của đoàn lân thuộc Hội liên hiệp Thanh niên Thể dục Úc Châu tiến vào sân khấu Blue Star Air Conditioning và khởi đầu cho một chương trình văn nghệ đặc sắc.
Đám đông đã kinh ngạc với các màn uốn dẻo đến khó tin của nhóm võ Thiếu Lâm cùng những khoảnh khắc há hốc mồm khi xem tiết mục nhào lộn Parkour của nhóm Team 9Lives và Hội võ thuật Đồng Thanh. Tuy nhiên chính Ninja Rùa (Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) mới thật sự cuốn hút người hâm mộ đủ mọi lứa tuổi khi họ đã mong đợi để được xem các anh hùng yêu thích trình diễn trực tiếp trên sân khấu. Trời mưa vẫn không làm giảm sự hứng thú của dòng người đổ về Cabramatta để cổ vũ cho các màn trinh diễn đầy khí thế này do Peter Warren Automotive tài trợ.
Niềm hân hoan được tiếp tục khi các thí sinh bước lên sân khấu để tham gia các cuộc thi ẩm thực do Cabramatta Bowling Club tài trợ và do Thiện Nguyễn, người đoạt giải Chàng trai Độc thân 2014 của tạp chí Cleo dẫn chương trình. Thí sinh X Factor 2014 Tee và Elenoa Rokobaro cũng góp mặt để thể hiện vài giai điệu được ưa thích và đã khiến cho khán giả lắc lư theo điệu nhạc.
Các đầu bếp hàng đầu của địa phương đến từ nhà hàng Iron Chef và nhà hàng Green Peppercorn của Fairfield Hotel đã hâm nóng ngày thứ hai của lễ hội khi biểu diễn nấu ăn với các hương vị tinh tế đã lôi cuốn và thỏa mãn vị giác của khán giả với các mẩu thức ăn thử tuyệt ngon.
Dutton Lane đã trở thành khu giải trí do Cabra-Vale Diggers tài trợ và phục vụ cho trẻ em với các trò chơi cực kỳ vui nhộn bao gồm cả lâu đài nhún với thử thách vượt dốc.
Nhiều khách tham quan đã đến khu vực gia súc nông trại của Lu Group để vỗ về, ôm ấp và cùng chụp hình với các con vật được yêu thích. Nhân vật đặc biệt của năm nay dĩ nhiên là chú dê con!
Chương trình giải trí qua hai ngày đã mang đến một loạt các màn trình diễn sôi động của các hội đoàn địa phương và thể hiện tài năng văn hóa chuyên nghiệp trong cộng đồng của chúng ta. Một lần nữa Tết Nguyên Đán tại Cabramatta vẫn giữ vững danh tiếng của mình và luôn được người tham dự hưởng ứng.
DỰ ÁN PHÁT TRIỂN DUTTON LANE
Công trình xây dựng chính đã bắt đầu vào ngày 16 tháng 3 năm 2015. Nếu thời tiết thuận lợi, công trình được dự kiến sẽ hoàn thành vào cuối năm 2015. Dự án phát triển 3 tầng lầu sẽ cung cấp thêm nhiều cửa hàng bán lẻ, văn phòng, 275 chỗ đậu xe và nhiều cơ sở cộng đồng mới và tiện nghi cho Trung tâm Thị trấn Cabramatta.

KẾT QUẢ KHẢ QUAN TỪ VIỆC NÂNG CẤP
THÙNG RÁC TẠI TRUNG TÂM CABRAMATTA
Trong tháng 2 vừa qua, Hội đồng Thành phố Fair-field đã nâng cấp một số lượng lớn các thùng rác công cộng ở Trung tâm Thị trấn Cabramatta và lắp đặt 3 khu vực dành cho người hút thuốc. Việc thay đổi thùng rác đã mang lại tác động trực quan một cách tích cực và đồng thời giảm thời gian các nhân viên phải nhặt rác trên địa bàn.
Việc nâng cấp thùng rác đã làm giảm đáng kể lượng rác thải trên và xung quanh thùng rác do đó làm giảm lượng rác xả bừa bãi trong trung tâm thành phố. Cùng với việc nâng cấp, Nhóm Thực thi Rác thải của Hội đồng đã tuyên truyền với các cơ sở kinh doanh về các phương pháp xử lý rác thải thích hợp và không xử dụng các thùng rác của trị trấn để bỏ rác thải của cửa hàng.
Hội đồng Thành phố xin nhân cơ hội này cảm ơn cộng đồng cho những nỗ lực không ngừng trong việc giữ gìn Cabramatta sạch sẽ.
BÃI ĐẬU XE HÀNH KHÁCH Ở CANLEY VALE
Công trình xây dựng bãi đậu xe nhiều tầng dành cho hành khách ở Canley Vale đang được tiến hành. Dự án của Sở Giao thông Vận tải NSW này sẽ bao gồm thiết kế 3 tầng nhằm cung cấp thêm khoảng 90 chỗ đậu xe bao gồm không giới hạn thời gian cho hành khách, có giới hạn thời gian cho người mua sắm, các phương tiện tiếp cận như cầu thang và thang máy cùng các tính năng an ninh như đèn chiếu sáng và hệ thống truyền hình giám sát.
