What is APSA-80?
Note:
How does APSA-80 work?
How to Use APSA-80?With Insecticides, Fungicides, Foliar Fertilisers and Defoliators.
With Post-Emergent Herbicides:
For use as an Irrigation Aid or in Golf Courses:
APSA-80, a product of Amway is an All Purpose Spray Adjuvant which on mixing with insecticides, fungicides, herbicides and defoliators increases their efficacy. As a result of that, the crops, fruits and vegetable are better protected from diseases, pests and unwanted herbs, resulting in more productive yield. This adjuvant has 80% of active ingredients and this can be mixed in any solution to improve its performance many times.
APSA-80 is neither an insecticide nor a fertiliser. It is an adjuvant that enhances the performances of insecticides and fertilisers and also helps water or solution to penetrate deeper.
APSA-80 contains special elements - 'Non Ironic Surfactants' that break down the surface tension of the water. These surfactants work on the surface of the water droplet to reduce its tendency to bead up by pulling the water and the wax on the leaf surface together, reducing the water's surface tension and causing the water droplet to spread out. When the water used in pesticide sprays spreads out more evenly, the result is much better pesticide coverage. Adding APSA-80 helps insecticides, defoliators and foliar fertilisers to penetrate the surface of the leaf faster and more evenly.
* Prepare a solution of insecticides/fungicides/foliar fertilisers/defoliators and water. Follow the mixing instructions recommended by the pesticide manufacturer.* Mix 5ml of APSA-80 (1/4th capful) per 15 litres of pesticide or foliar fertiliser solution.* Spray normally on the crop.
* Make a solution of the post-emergent herbicide to be used with water in the spray tank. Follow the mixing instructions recommended by the herbicide manufacture.* Mix 20ml of APSA-80 (1 capful) per 15 litres of post emergent herbicide solution.* Spray normally on the crop.
* Mix 160ml of APSA-80 (8 capfuls) in at least 80 litres per acre. The dosage of APSA-80 will remain 160ml per acre of land even if the water required is more than 80 litres to cover an acre of land. * About 12 hours before irrigating, spray this mixture of APSA-80 and water directly on the entire land area which is to be irrigated. Spray directly on the soil.* Let the water flow into the land and see how it penetrates the soil better and also spreads better. * The above mentioned spray of APSA-80 will remain effective for about 4 weeks. Repeat the above steps for irrigation after a month.
Mangoes
This test was conducted on Mangoes by the Indian Institute of
Horticultural Research, Bangalore.
Carbaryl sprayed at recommended concentration alone and Carbaryl in combination with APSA-80 at recommended concentration of 5 ml in 15 litres against I. niveosparsus.
Carbaryl in combination with APSA-80 was found to be significantly superior to carbaryl alone. Percent hopper control reduced significantly to 14% after 28 days of spraying carbaryl alone, whereas carbaryl in combination with APSA-80 showed 84% hopper control even after 28 days.

Institute of Pesticide Formulation Technology (IPFT) was established
in May 1991, as a Govt. of India Society registered under the Societies
Act under the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of
Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt. of India. IPFT caters to the needs of not
only the Indian pesticides industry but also of the Asia and Pacific region.
It is recognized by the Department of Science and Technology (DST),
Govt. of India and Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). IPFT is located at
Gurgaon, Haryana.
This study was carried out with sugarcane at the experimental
research farms of IPFT. The volume of spray used was 200 litres per acre.
APSA-80 was mixed in the recommended concentration (0.03%) with the
following pesticides
at manufacturers
dosage i.e Malathion
50EC (150ml/acre),
Endosulfan 35EC
(350ml/acre),
Chlorpyriphos 20EC

compared against the
use of all these
pesticides alone.

Test: Different Fungicides, such as Copper Oxycholoride, Chlorothalonil and
Mancozeb were sprayed alone and in combination
with APSA-80 @2.3 ml/10 litre of water
against some major foliage diseases of potato.
Result
As compare to fungicides alone, all the fungicides
in combination with APSA-80 have been found to
be quite effective in controlling foliage diseases resulting in increase in yields -
18.8 qt/ha respectively. As compare to fungicides alone, combination of fungicide
& APSA-80 gave an average yield increase of 19.5 qt/ha.

Indian Test Result
According to Indian researches, one rupee spent on APSA-80 can fetch a return of Rs. 12 to Rs. 58.
When IPFT used only Malathion on sugarcane crop, the yield was 592 Quintal/Hectare. But with the use of Malathion along with APSA-80, the yield came out to be 644 Quintal/Hectare. It means an increase of 52 Quintal/Hectare. According to Govt. procurement price it is approximately Rs. 4134 whereas for gaining such increase in this crop field, the total spending on APSA-80 comes out to be just Rs. 192 per hectare (296 ml APSA-80 is needed to be sprayed twice on one hectare. The cost of which is nearly Rs. 192). If we calculate, we get a return of Rs. 21.50 on every rupee spent on APSA-80.
For Example :
* Based on 2004 minimum procurement prices ** Rs. / kg in case of tobacco** kg / ha in case of tobacco
Note: The above yield increases are with individual insecticides. The yield increase when used with all the above insecticides is not the sum of individual yield increases.

Advantages of
1. Offers farmers an excellent opportunity to increase their crop yields.
2. Spreader - provides more uniform spray deposit on plants; improves coverage of insecticide, herbicide, fungicide and foliar fertiliser sprays.
3. Activator - thorough wetting action helps improve performance of post-emergent herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides.
4. For use on growing and harvested crops.
5. Helps in dispersing powders and oil-base liquids.
6. The International and Indian test results on variety of crops prove TM the effectiveness of APSA-80 for improving pesticide coverage
and performance.
7. Increases water penetration- gets more water into the soil. Also aids irrigation by reducing run-off; saves water.
8. Aids irrigation by increasing rate at which water soaks into soil; promotes more efficient water usage.
9. Helps keep spray equipment clean and prevents clogged nozzles-reduces down time.
10. Non-corrosive to equipment.
11. Biodegradable.
12. According to Indian researches, APSA-80 fetches a return of 12 to 58 times of the amount spent on it.
* For more information, attend Amway conducted training on APSA-80.
ENSURES BESTUTILIZATION OF SCARCE WATER RESOURCES.
APSA-80 is the 'Performance Maximizer' from Amway which improves
pesticide and water 'Coverage & Penetration' for greater crop yields.
Go ahead, use APSA-80 as an irrigation aid this monsoon.
WATER IS PRECIOUSWATER IS PRECIOUS
APSA-80 AS AN IRRIGATION AID
RECOMMENDED USE:
BENEFITS:
* Mix 160 ml of APSA-80 in at least 80 litres of water for every acre of land
you want to irrigate. The dosage of APSA-80 will remain 160 ml per acre of
land even if the water required is more than 80 litres to cover an acre of land.
* Spray this mix on the land you want to irrigate at least 12 hours in advance
