• Full aquatic invertebrate surveys as part of a series of ecologicalsurveysataSiteofSpecialScientificInterest(SSSI)inSurrey.Thisincludedtheidentificationofsamplesto species level and the calculation of BMWP, ASPT and CCI values. The surveys are ongoing and will help to inform the next management plan for the site
• IdentificationandanalysisofsamplescollectedfromJersey.ThesewereidentifiedtofamilylevelandanalysedusingBMWP and ASPT scores to inform water quality analysis
• Baseline ecological surveys of a wetland treatment system installed at a school in Wigan. Samples were analysed to species level with BMWP and ASPT scores also calculated
• Samples were collected and analysed from a number of sites around Ealing, West London. Results were then used to inform habitat management advice for the Local Authority

• Ground-basedcountsofCommonScoterMelanitta nigra were carried out in Carmarthen Bay to assess the condition of the Special Protection Area (SPA)
• A scoping study was implemented into the possible installation of renewable energy devices on the Farne Islands, an important bird area. This involved an extensive ecological data review with a focus on birds and marine mammals
• Vantage point surveys were carried out at the site of a proposedwindturbine.Theseinvolvedmappingtheflightpaths and identifying species of interest throughout the site,aswellasrecordingflightheights.Flightheightsandnumbers of gull species using the site were recorded, and low tide counts of waterbirds were also made
