All shall be well, and all shall be well,
and all manner of thingshall be well.
Lady Julian of Norwich
Aquinas is a successful and popular sixth form college with
an open access and non-selective admissions policy. Our students have excellent opportunities and the best possible support for achieving their potential.
This is a relaxed and friendly college with a sense of mutual respect, identity and purpose. We look forward to your contribution to our community.
Aquinas students are focussed, motivated, ambitious and ready to workWe do not have an academic selection policy. Potential students must be hard working and
determined to succeed. We expect them to demonstrate a commitment to personal development
and achievement in every endeavour.
Academic results are consistently very highAquinas has very high standards and expectations.
Our students take responsibility for their own work and
learning; we expect them to organise themselves and
to take a mature approach to their college careers.
85% of our students go to university each yearWe want our students to exceed their own expectations of what
is possible for the future. Careers advice and help with university
applications are central to our student support services.
Students are confident, informed and well prepared for the future
Courses to match all abilities and interestsWe have an exceptional range of academic and vocational courses
and our students are free to mix and match. Our timetable is written
after students have made their choices: options are not blocked
so we can offer courses tailored to individual needs. We update our
curriculum regularly and we are always open to suggestions for
new courses.

Everyone is treated as an individual at Aquinas
Comprehensive student support services and tutorial programmesWell established and effective care of all students is a priority. Student progress is closely monitored:
targets are negotiated, agreed and reviewed each term with continual improvement in mind.
Aquinas is a Catholic college for the communityThe Gospel values of freedom, justice and love inform all our work. Our college chaplain
oganises a variety of activities including social trips, retreats and fundraising events
as well as a drop-in spiritual support service for students.
The chapel is always open for prayer and reflection
Stop and think!
Before you choose what to study ask yourself: what are you good at? What do you enjoy doing? What do you want to do when you leave?
Don’t be shy – talk to friends, family, other students and teachers. Do some research, come to our Open Evenings and talk to us.
