the BOX CABIN: points of view.

The Box Cabin, designed in First Year for Valparaiso – Chile, was

conceived as a small urban refuge for a young photographer who

wanted to capture real life scenes from the tourists, the shore, and

hills; enjoy the city and also interact with

the locals. The idea was to let him

observe the surrounding from a privileged

spot, without being seen, like a hidden kid

spying other people, but letting the people

know he is there.

As the cabin had to be designed in one of

the famous City Balconies, it was decided

that it should be settled above it, so that

people could still get all the city views, the

photographer could get all their views and

people could not view him while on his

daily life.



The project consist in a two floors concrete hut constructed one floor

over the balcony, like a landmark among the hills, where a new

stairway to the shore terrace appears and make the people interact

with this structure and let the owner watch and portray all the

movement around him







the COLLOWARA HOSTEL: astronomical sense

The Collowara Hostel was thought with the existing Collowara

Astronomical Observatory in Andacollo – Chile as a complex, rescuing

the living ways of the northern desert regions, sheltering into the slope

and creating interior shadow yards.

In the middle of nothing, between the hills and the desert, half way

from the town to the observatory, the hostel appears as a very rational

platform that far from trying to imitate nature, contrasts with the waving

forms around it,

This makes the structure really easy to identify from the distance and

let it hide into the hills to be used to observation.

SAMTOSHA; hindu fusion restobar

Samtosha is an interior design project for an hindu enterprise, into a

very bounded space, where we wanted to capture all the hindi spirit,

whit its contrast, colors, contradiccions and multiplicity, into a modern

and simplifyed way, as made with their food in Occident.











wareHOUSE: factory revival

Just next to the historical and civic heart of the city, in the middle of a

new emerging housing zone, it appears an old industrial structure,

worn by time, and used as a municipal warehouse.

Its magnificent structure and its great high, offers great flexibility and

dramatism to the building, with a big open plan scheme that makes it

perfect to create some small functional departments.

















the OAKS: ONCOLOGY CENTRE hike through the illness.

Considering the long periods of treatment that oncological patients

have to stay in this kind of places and the fantastic landscape offered

to us by this great grove we decided that this should be a total access

almost one floor complex that should travel thought the trees so they

could spend their free time going around paths in this preexisting park.















the I.T. TOWER:

timeless strength

After the consequences of the

27th February earthquake in

Temuco - Chile, a new

administrative building for the

government was needed,

where all the damaged

secretaries and the regional

authority could be gathered

into a single unitary space.

This project, which was located

next to the city foundation

square, should stand as an

icon into the city, both visually

and as a meeting point. That’s

why this building was thought

as one big recognized tower,

surrounded by open courts and

galleries, which should be

used by all the people all the

time, with very simple lines and

a strong image that makes this

work perdurable in time.
