Svitava River ApartmentsZabrdovice, Brnoarchitectural study 5/2011
in collaboration with Bc. Dagmar Vasakova
A brownfield at the Svitava riverside is nearby city centre but it keeps calmness of periphery. Because of flood zone and large car park area necessity, the whole complex is elevated and the pedestrian zone is above parking on a raised platform.
Straight access to the river. There are 2 sorts of houses - 4 cubes on the platform and a longer one at the junction to the main street. The brick house preserves the industrial look and renovated to be used as a gym and office space.

House on the slopeNew Zealand impressionarch. study 7/2012
One of the first impression in New Zealand. A friend of the nature. The house merged into the ground.
Riverside corner place is disadvantaged by under-ground steam piping with 4m wide protection zone and endangered by floods. For this reason, the house is put to the street line and the yard remains unbuilt for parking. In the ground floor there are cafe and shop places to rent, upper floors are designated for the gym and offices and the tower has 2-3 flats everyfloor. The building shape reflects a high hotel at the beginning of the street, the corner tower and it’s rotation enables to reach a big mass and inner space without any effect of massiveness.
