LUMBERMAN’S DESIGN STUDENT COMPETITIONDate: May 10th, 2013

This design competition is sponsored by the Dixiline Lumber

Company. It happens every year in Spring for design students

between colleges within San Diego county. The project for Spring

2013 is to design a Gallery for Commercial Art exhibition. This gallery

will be named Theodor Geisel Gallery. The Gallery will include 3 main

spaces to serve different purposes which are Gallery, Lecture Hall,

and Research Library. The site for this project is located in UCSD

campus, with the total area is approximately 10000 sq. feet.

Prize: Honorable Mention Award Winner

CRITIQUE & JURY SPACEDate: March 14th, 2013Course: Advanced Architectural Design II course at San Diego Mesa College, by instructor Ian, J. Kay. Project: To design three distinct types of spaces: Project Presentation Space (175 sq. ft); Seating Area (625 sq. ft); and two small spaces for Restroom (50 sq. ft), Storage (50 sq.ft).There are given 3 pre-approved locations for choice in San Diego Mesa campus, Design Center.

ROW HOUSES IN MISSION HILLSDate: May 20th, 2012Course: Advanced Architectural Design I, San Diego Mesa College. Instructor: Strona, Carl L.Background: A group of investors has purchased two exisiting buildings (100 x 70ft) in Mission Hills, San Diego, corner of Hawk St, just North of Washington St. They want to develop the property as a multi-fam-ily residential development consisting of 4 attached live/work row houses. All parking and vehicular access and pedestrian access shall be from Hawk St. 4 Units standards:1 unit satisfies 1 bedroom plus den/office, 1 1/2 bath2 units satisfy 2 bedrooms plus den/ofice, 2 1/2 baths1 unit satisfies 3 bedrooms plus den/office, 3 1/2 bath

HULSE PAVILION This Hulse Pavilion Case Study was assigned in Graphic Design Communication II course, at San Diego Mesa College, by instructor Barrett, Norman. This course focuses on building Graphic Communication skills in both hand drawing tech-niques and computer skills. Media used for hand drawings are markers, color pen-cils, and pens. Computer programs used are Photoshop and Illustrator.
