Masterplan : The Green Corridor

The Green Corridor is a proposal to replace the 2km railway lines with parks and connections from the south and north parts of the city which were separated by the railway lines. Other parts of the city are also re-developed to house feature architecture for a more sustainable city for the future.

Two Buildings proposed to be connected with the Green Corridor were the Faculty of Arts for university of Newcastle and The Civil Justice Cen-ter replacing the Newcastle Station. Energy parks were also proposed to create vibrant spaces which harnesses solar and wind energy to create re-usable energy.

The building is designed based on a sustainable concept with features such as open courtyard, shading devices, wall plants and natural lighting provided for every spaces throughout the building. The central courtyard allows light and ventilation to permeate through the building and creates an inner environment for the occupants

The feature is the spiral garden ramp which acts as a roof for the ground floor outdoor foyer. The ramp has seatings for students to relax while looking towards the sea on an elevated level. It is also has a grass floor as a mean of connecting the green corridor with the building.

The design of this building reflects the modern look of Honeysuckle yet combines with the original look of the previous Newcastle station. The use of similar materials were to have its design connection. The side entrance on Hunter street reflects the existing court house at the end of Bolton Street.

The buildings sustainable idea are the inner court-yards which allows light and air to the spaces inside. The parameter of the building are fit with gardens for a cooler environment.

Kuala Lumpur

This is a proposed Children’s Hospital in Kuala Lum-pur which is strategically located near educational institutions, health facilities and tourist attractions. The hospital were designed to allow optimum ven-tilation within through pocket gardens and court-yards located around the complex.

Bright and attractive colour patterns adorn the walls to visually stimulate children’s coming ti the hospital. The hospital has 50 beds in wards and also houses research facilities, accommodations and therapy areas.

Theme Park DesignProposed Festival Site for Port Dickson Fiesta 2008 This is a proposed theme park development in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. It comprises of a 3 phase development next to the sea with at-tractions such as play areas, food kiosks, res-taurants, gazebos, play rides, landscape fea-tures and etc. The proposal was for Ministry of Tourism Malaysia during 2008.
