• Municipal archives and state archives of provinces working together

• Some of us are not called ‘archive’ but ‘historical centre’: broad focus

• Many educators• Little time and money...

• This year’s focus: – focus more at Overijssel than

Zwolle– more digital, since we have nearly

nothing digital– course ‘23 things’!

New project for primary education

• De Streek Centraal:– pupils 9-10 years (starting historical

knowledge)– in the region– immaterial heritage: traditions,

language, relics – 10 municipalities in Overijssel– www.destreekcentraal.nl

A project in the making

issues in a municipality• based on the national site:

www.entoen.nu - list of the 50 ‘need to know’-things about Dutch history

• texts, films, lessons for children and teachers

Right now...

• We just opened a new educational exhibition: ‘A paper war’

• Exhibition about the use of propaganda during WWII

• Schools will visit the exhibition (11-14 years old) as well as students

Experiences with the new projects

Success:– More known in the region– Still some money from governments and funds– More structural communication– Contacts react positively

Questions: - What’s good digital material?- How do you measure who’s using it - and how?- How do we get out of the project character?
