Arctic Monkeys I would consider the age of the target audience is wide from 15- 28. The band gives the impression that they don’t really care about what people think about them or can’t be bothered but just want to make music and they are creative. Even though they are world wide known band I think the music and video reflects this. This impression can also be reflected on the teenage generation of today, for example, stress of University, unemployment. I think that the band could be very happy go lucky and take life how it comes, which most of the target audience age are, waiting for an opportunity instead of making one. The bands website and artwork is generally quite plain colours and occasionally a brighter colour, for example, black, white, grey and cream but it means the important bit of the artwork stands out. The music over the 5 years has changed and may be considered as lifeless compared to their first album. This could be due to different influences and maybe their target audience has changed. The names of the Arctic Monkeys albums and songs and lyrics within there songs reflect their style and maybe their attitudes, for example, ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not’ and ‘Humbug’.

Arctic MonkeysI would consider the age of the target audience is wide from 15-28.

This album cover is black and white which may reveal something which would have been unnoticed if in colour. It could also emphasise the cigarettewhich could convey that the target audience would consider smoking thecool thing to do. I think the picture connect to the title of the album – ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not’. The guy on the front isacting like he doesn’t care about what the world thinks of him. A lot of people disagree with smoking so the Arctic Monkeys are standing up for what they believe.

The website connects within the whole of Arctic Monkeys theme. It has a plain background which bold writing which stands out. The size and font of the text ‘Arctic Monkeys’ seems like its getting louder as you say it which would fit in their genre of music. The font of the writing that is used on the rest of the page, for example, ‘French Regional’ is quite a basic font whichcould be not bothering or quite strict. They also have their new music video at the top of the website promoting it.

This image from ‘The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala’ is black and white which is a Technique that the Arctic Monkeys use. Thebranches of the trees make it hard to see them and they are silhouetted. I think this image is quite depressive mainly because ofthe colours but once within this music video it become ceative video.

This image is in the ‘Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair' music video. The background is a plain and the band are like silhouettes especially the two in black. This image also incorporates colour to make it more interesting and help them to stand out individually. They all have an outline which is in two different colours suggesting that the sun is on them. The fact that they are blurry makes the audience a bit disorientated.

The KooksThe Kooks give the impression that they are quite laid back and relaxed. The genre shown through their music is also shown their clothes, for example, hoodies, skinny jeans and t-shirts. The target audience of The Kooks would be 15-25 because that’s the age of people who like the same fashion style as The Kooks, also I think some teenagers are quite kooky, for example, by not following rulesand standing out from a group. Their music reflects the idea of them being relaxedas it is easy to listen to and I think their one of the best well known indie bands. The titles of their songs, for example, ‘naïve’ and ‘shine on’ also represent their

laid back nature.

In their first two album covers they are being kooks by standing out. In the artwork for Konk, the rest of background is dark and were they are the area is lit up; also the work ‘konk’ is standing out in blue lights. On Inside In/Inside Out the cover is very white and pale and The Kooks are very easy to see, even in the mirror. Also again the name of the album and band are in capitals stand out.

The way that ‘THE KOOKS’ is presented is the same as on album covers, it is bold, quite strict and easy to read. ‘The kooks’ is either written in black or white which could represent their fashion style. The background of the website is plain also like the background of their first two album covers. The website is also laid back, there’s not a lot going on which makes it relaxed. There is a picture of the band as the main feature which makes them stand out.

In most of their videos the kooks have an element of band performance which is seen throughout various music videos. However in these two images The Kooks are just performing to themselves which keeps the video quite intimate and laid back. It also shows that it is just down to the music and that’s the most important thing. Also there music videos are very colourful, just a few hints, which reflects the relaxed theme of The Kooks, also there clothing and style.
