RESUMPTION OF EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUIONS UNDER FEDERAL DIRECTORATE OF EDUCATION ISLAMABAD:A cOMPLETE GUIDE LINE FOR ACADEMIC PLANNING SESSION 2020-21.

Subject:

I am directed to refer this Directorate's letter of even number dated 21-08-2020

and 31-08-2020 regarding preparation for resumption of educational institutions under Federal

Directorate of Education and to say that Federal Government has announced resumption of

educational activities in phased manner. In first phase universities, colleges and high/higher

secondary schools (9th-12th only) shall be opened from 15th September 2020. In next phases

remaining institutions (Middle classes from 23rd September 2020 and Primary classes from 30th

September 2020) shall resume educational activities subject to review of relevant authorities.

Federal Directorate of Education has devised a detailed guidelines covering all 2.

academic activities for session 2020-21. The detail of guidelines is as under:

Working Days and Term Wise Break Up: All educational institutions shall have six working days in a week with Saturday

being observed as a working day for this academic session.

This academic session 2020-2021 is divided in two terms with (Term 1:

September 16, 2020 to November 30, 2020 and Term 2: December 15, 2020 to

March 14, 2021)

First term examination: December, 01 to December 14, 2020

Final term Examination: March 15 to March 30, 2021

Date sheet for both First and Final term (Grade -VIl)_will be issued by FDE and for SSC and HSSC classes FBISE's schedule shall be followed.

Note:

Institutions' Timings for Students (I-XI): Reduced timings for the institutions shall be as follows:

08:00 am -12:00 pm (Mon -Sat) For Double Shift Institutions: Morning Shift 08:00 am - 12:00 pm (Mon-Sat)

Evening Shift: 01:00 pm - 05:00 pm (Mon-Thu &Sat)

For Single Shift Institutions:

and 02:00 pm - 6:00pm (Fri)

Total number periods per day = 05 of 40 minutes duration. A sample timetable

and weekly subject wise period allocation is annexed for ready reference.

Every Head of Institution shall use this as template to design indigenous timetables.

Managing Density of Students: Each Section/ Class (exceeding 20) wilm be divided into two groups. Group 1 and Group 2 and

shall observe following schedule:

Group 1: Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

Group 2: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday

No morning assembly during this session

Multiple entry/exit points and vigilant staff to be engaged therein.

Curricular Guidelines: Revised syllabus (I-VIII) issued and available at www.fde.gov.pk/downloads is to

be followed uniformly across all institutions. For board classes FBISE guidelines

shall be issued in due course and to be followed. Keeping in view the reduced number of working days in this session a hybrid

model of teaching to be adopted with more difficult concepts to be taught in

classes in face to face setting whereas easier concepts to be covered through

home assignments. Recess/Breaks are to be staggered where no more than two classes to be given

break at a time.

College/School Transport: Institutional transport facility to be operated with strict observance of SoPs.

Wearing mask is mandatory for drivers, conductors and students. No entry

without mask whatsoever the case may be.

Buses to be cleaned and disinfected after every use.

2. All Area Education Officers shall be responsible for implementation of above

mentioned guidelines in the institutions under their jurisdiction.
