For more information, call 730-6444. Bringing Back the 90’s Party A night of music, food and dancing themed nostalgically to the 1990s is scheduled for April 5 from 8 p.m. – 3 a.m. at Reggie’s Club on Camp Stanley. A “Best Dressed” contest is also planned, with prizes for first-, second-, and third-place in the male and female categories. Trivia, party games and other prizes are also planned. The event is sponsored by the Camp Stanley Better Opportunities for Single (and unaccompanied) Soldiers, or BOSS, program. For ticket prices and other details, call 732-5366. Community Bank Hours Community Bank branches will be closed April 6, a Saturday. For more information, call 723-9251. Fun Run/Walk at Casey A 2.5/5K fun run/walk is scheduled for 9 a.m. April 6 in the parking lot of the Hanson Field House on Camp Casey. Registration is at 8 a.m. The event is in observance of the Month of the Military Child and is sponsored by the U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I’s Child, Youth & School Services. Poetry Event An open microphone “spoken word” performance event at which community members can showcase their original poetry is scheduled for 8 – 11 p.m. April 6 at the Gateway Club on Camp Casey. It’s open to Soldiers, civilians and family members. No entry or registration fee is required. For information on rules, criteria and other details, call 730-3400. Parking Lot Closed A parking lot and other areas in the vicinity of the Camp Casey Exchange shopping area will be closed for repairs from 7:30 p.m. April 7 to 10 a.m. April 8. The affected areas are the entire Exchange Parking lot, the entrance area outside the commissary, and the sidewalks behind the post office. For more information, call 010-3100-3910. Heat Shut-Off Heat in Area I buildings will be shut off in the course of the month of April, beginning April 8. Heat will first be turned off in work areas such as motor pools, offices and other facilities. Next will be public facilities in general use by the community, including Exchanges, commissaries, and recreational facilities. That will be followed by barracks. For more information, call 732-6167. Spring Recess Casey Elementary School begins spring recess April 8. Classes resume April 15. For more information, call 730-6444. Krispy Kreme To Open A Krispy Kreme at Camp Hovey will hold a grand opening 1 p.m. April 9 in building 3807 opposite the Community Bank. For more information, call 866-9447. Water Outage at Camp Casey A water outage at Camp Casey is scheduled for April 10 from 6 – 11 a.m. to allow connection of water lines. For more information, call 730-5738/5746. BOSS Annual Fair and BBQ The Area I Better Opportunities for Single (and unaccompanied) Soldiers Program, or BOSS, will hold an annual fair and barbecue from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. April 10 in the Camp Casey Exchange parking area. Information will be distributed on alcohol and substance abuse, sexual assault and suicide prevention, as well as on good health, safety, recreation and leisure possibilities. Single, unaccompanied, and KATUSA Soldiers will have a chance to win a prize. Free hotdogs and sodas will be provided. For more information, call 730-6524. Citizenship and Immigration Outreach A class covering immigration topics is scheduled for April 18 from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Army Community Service, bldg. 2451, on Camp Casey. Topics to be covered include green cards, naturalization, re-entry permits, and assembling the I-130 Package. Registration is required. For more information, call 730-3107. St. George Day Ball The 1st Battalion, 72nd Armor Regiment, will host a St. George Day Ball April 19 at 5 p.m. at the Wedding Palace in Uijeongbu. Cost is $50. St. George is the patron saint of mounted forces – cavalry and armor. But Soldiers from all branches are invited to an evening of dining, dancing, a concert by the 2nd Infantry Division Band, and a chance to welcome the newest inductees into the Honorable Order of Saint George. Attire is mess dress, ASU with bow tie, or semi-formal civilian wear. Door prizes will be given. For more information, call 010-6479-8792. CG’s Mess Open The CG’s Mess on Camp Red Cloud, which closed for renovation in December, has reopened. For more information, call 732-6372. Area I Girl Scouts Seek Volunteers The Area I Girl Scouts are looking for adult volunteers. Volunteers must be 18 or older. Those interested can visit the Camp Casey Girl Scouts Facebook page. The page has more information on volunteering and allows for sending the Scouts a message. Mandatory Temperature Adjustments Col. John M. Scott, Commander, U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I has directed that ambient temperatures be adjusted in all buildings as an energy-saving measure. The required temperature setting during the heating season is 68 degrees Fahrenheit, which is roughly 20 degrees Celsius; in the cooling season, the setting is 78F, 26C. These conservation measures will result in important energy savings within the Area I community. For more information, call 732-6940.
