The SettingWeddings at Arenas del Mar are reserved the best spot in the house. Of all the hotels in Manuel Antonio, only we have the unique privilege of direct beach access. Wedding parties will enjoy our entire secluded Playitas Beach all to themselves. Sandy toes and salty kisses await.
The VibeThere’s a kind of magical energy on Playitas Beach. When you’re right between the ocean and the rainforest you get all of nature’s good vibes and a real feel for the legendary Costa Rican “pura vida”. As for our team, we’re down-to-earth, genuine and passionate about sustainability.
The DécorYou’ll have free rein over the decoration of your wedding ceremony and dinner spaces. That means no Arenas del Mar themed setups or decorative cushions borrowed from the lobby. Unless that’s what you’re into.
The DiningWe promise a celebratory evening of delectable, gourmet food. We use exclusively high quality ingredients and accommodate all special requirements. Formulate your own three course menu from a long list of mouth-watering options, or design a buffet-style dining experience for your wedding party. We can even create your dream wedding cake in-house.As for drinks, we’ll serve your favorites or arrange an open bar.*All food and beverages (with the exception of the wedding cake) must be purchased from Arenas del Mar.
The ExtrasAt Arenas del Mar, we can provide you with many things: tropical beachfront paradise, gourmet food and exotic drinks, friendly and efficient service staff, furniture for 50… But, some things will need outsourcing. These include flowers, music, officiant, lighting, linens, décor, awnings and any additional furniture if needed. Enlist the expertise of a wedding planner, or allow us to make some local recommendations.

DECORATION inspiration
When you tie the knot at Arenas del Mar, you’ll have free rein over the decoration of your wedding ceremony and dinner spaces. While nature takes center stage at our resort, you may wish to add a little decoration – for an extra-special beachfront wedding we encourage you to outsource extras including flowers, lighting, linens, awnings and any furniture in addition to the dining tables and chairs we provide. For weddings at Arenas del Mar we offer two dining options. Both feature passionately-prepared gourmet dishes created with the highest quality, sustainably-sourced ingredients to delight the palates of your entire wedding party. Whichever you choose, we’ll always put flavor first and accommodate any special requirements. We also offer an optional wedding cake service.

POLICIES & Useful Information
SEASONALITY Arenas del Mar is delighted to host weddings over select dates throughout the year. Please consult with the hotel's Food & Beverage Department to discuss.
EVENT DETAILSMaximum wedding party capacity: 50 guests
Weddings at Arenas del Mar are hosted exclusively on the beautiful and secluded Playitas Beach. We are the only Manuel Antonio hotel with direct beach access.
A visit to the hotel is required at least 3 days prior to the wedding to check location and arrangement of the event space.
Arenas del Mar will assign 1 bartender and 2 waiters for every 10 guests. Extra service requirements will incur an additional charge.
The F&B Manager or a restaurant Maître will personally oversee the event, acting as the link between the wedding party and the Chef.
Weddings should take place between 5PM and 9:30PM, finishing by 10PM out of courtesy to other guests staying at the hotel. Live music can be enjoyed until 9PM.
The following facilities will be open to guests attending the event at Arenas del Mar: area of the beach designated for the wedding, the beach bar, bathrooms and walkways.
In the case of any damage to the property or to guests/employees present at the event, liability will fall upon the wedding party.
Lodging at the hotel is optional and should be managed with our Reservation Department through our Sales Coordinator – [email protected] is limited at the hotel therefore we recommend the use of shuttles to transport guests to and from Arenas del Mar. We can put you in touch with external shuttle services.
FOOD & BEVERAGEIn order to ensure the availability of all products, the selection of food and beverages should be made 4 weeks in advance.
All food and beverages (with the exception of the wedding cake), must be purchased at the hotel.
An optional tasting for a maximum of 4 people – to be done at least 1 month in advance of the ceremony date – is included in the wedding package.

Non-alcoholic beverages will be charged as consumed on the day of the event, unless a certain number of drinks are previously agreed.
EXTERNAL SERVICESArenas del Mar shall provide food and drinks for the wedding party as well as service staff. Any flowers, lighting, linens, décor, awnings or furniture in addition to that which is already available for use at Playitas Restaurant must be outsourced.
If you are hiring external services such as additional furniture, decorations, flowers etc. set up must be done by the contracted company. Arenas del Mar will gladly collaborate by providing an electric cart and driver, and F&B staff will be on hand to help arrange decorations and extra furniture.
Everything brought into the hotel from outside should enter through the administrative area of the hotel from 6-11AM on the day of the event, and after the event, Playitas must be 100% cleaned and organized by no later than 5:30AM the following morning.
CHANGES & CANCELLATIONChanges in the number of guests can be made up to 72 hours prior to the event.
Cancellation Policy: events cancelled at least 3 months before the agreed date will be refunded at 80%. Events cancelled 1 month prior to the date will be reimbursed at 50%.
