PAX operations require fire suppression in lower cargo holds, they also have people that can fight a main deck fire.
Cargo aircraft are not required to have suppression in the lower cargo holds nor any suppression capabilities on the main deck.

Where do we go from here?
Professionals in the aviation and ARFF communities must continue to work together for member safety
ARFF must seek out Cargo training
Together we must work for passage of legislation mandating Cargo aircraft be included in Index criteria
