Advances towards a law against the violence against the women:November 26, 2008.

The Senate of the Nation approves the project “Law of integral protection, to sanction and to eradicate

violence against the women "

In the speeches of the Senators they mention the report, recommendations and numbers of Amnesty International,

some:

Argentina doesn`t possess a statistical national system on the violence

against the woman.

There are no numbers on the violence against the women and they skimp information of the topic, there is no political will to give visibility to this

problem.

The violence against the woman isn't a problem of State.

reports and statistics, that the collection of qualitative and quantitative data is standardized and disaggregated according to gender and other relevant factors, and that

it is open to verification.

" It´s necessary to implement a Statistical National System in order that the "invisibility" of the

violence against woman ends and there exists concrete information that use as objective base

to the policies and future programs ".
