Engineering the ariel ace

Launched at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2014, the Ariel Ace has garnered rave reviews for its exhilarating performance and unique design concept. As the first motorcycle from Ariel for over 50 years, it is a worthy addition to a re-energised brand.

GTME is proud to have been intimately involved in the project. Selected for our extensive experience in both low and high volume motorcycle design, we provided the specialist engineering required to turn the concept into stunning reality. Here is a brief insight into the challenges involved in engineering an innovative and eye-catching machine.

Customers will be able to visit their bike in-build, establishing a relationship with both the machine and the person building it.

A huge variety of options and variations are available. The combination of seating and footrest options, handlebar variants and fork design choices, means that the core concept can be shaped into anything from a long distance cruiser to an out and out sports bike.

An almost infinite combination of finishes and exhaust configurations will also ensure both visual and aural individuality.

Production will start early in 2015 and will be limited to a maximum of 150 machines per year.

The Concept

The Ace is a worthy addition to the Ariel stable, being true to both the traditions of its motorcycling heritage and the innovative qualities of the Atom sports car.

Built within a unique perimeter space frame, the machine can be extensively tailored to meet the precise requirements of the individual customer - extending to the option to return the motorcycle to the factory to retrofit options and carry out a wide range of possible modifications.

Each machine will be hand-built by an individual Ariel technician in its own build bay.
