El GeneralWell, we are half-way there! I am "almost" enjoying this play-off procedure,but anything can happen now so we will just have to keep our fingerscrossed. One dodgy refereeing decision or one bad performance spells theend of the season.What a fantastic day it was two weeks ago at the Badalona game (I even gotthe tickets spot on which worried me because it usually spelt bad luck). Theteam are finally realising their potential and more importantly certain playersare hitting form just at the right time. A message to you Aridane. "I hold myhands up. I slated you and though you have always shown some fight, nowwe are seeing some class" Today, although we are well and truly in thedriving seat, it will be a tricky affair. They say that there is nothing moredangerous than someone with nothing to lose, and that today is BalonaLinense.Finally, the new giant flag behind the goal today has taken many weeks toprepare by the lads of the Frente Blanquiazul for their 25th Anniversary. Wecontributed towards it for on one of the coach trips this season and this is thegrand result. Hopefully this will not be the last programme of the campaign,we will know in a few hours time! AridaneWho Are Ya?Not an instant hit and with the added dragfactor of being a Pio, Aridane has won over thefans with some well taken goals and sheer hardwork. Initially he was seen as just a big targetman but he offers much more, the way his teammates mobbed him after creating Chechu’s goalat home to Badalona showed that they fullyappreciate his contribution.Born in Vecindario he was snapped up byDeportivo and played a couple of seasons intheir B team, and passed through UniversidadLas Palmas before joining us from Leganes inthe January transfer window. Only recentlyturned 25 Aridane can continue to improve,sometimes his positional play and footwork lethim down but he is always a handful in the airand works well with Perona.Aridane is a big fan of Keith Lemon and wearshis wrist bandage as a tribute. Away fromfootball he enjoys the cinema and relaxing atthe beach, he often heads for the southernsands so look out for him barging his waythrough to score on your local beach.Never a prolific scorer, 12 in his UniversidadLas Palmas season was his best, Aridaneseems to improve each weekend. With 6 goalsfor us, he is tied with Victor Bravo as the team’ssecond top scorer. Long may it continue for‘our’ revelation.
