Dear Parents/Carers

It is hard to believe that we are so near to the end of term, the weeks have certainly

flown by. Although we are unable to do many of the normal Christmas activities and

events this year we have planned a fun filled last week of term so the children will

not miss out in any way.

This week Year 1 enjoyed a visit from Estelle and the Toy museum at Carisbrooke

Castle. The children had a great time looking at and playing with toys from years

gone by, not an electronic device in sight!

Today Gruffalo class are on a trip to Sandown Zoo, they are making gifts for the

animals and then watching them open them. We look forward to hearing all about it

next week.

We have sold 55 wreath making kits which was great, please send in photos of the

completed wreaths that we can then share on Weduc. A big thank you to Mrs

Mumberson, Miss Connelly and Mrs Smith for putting the kits together.

We will be holding the Christmas Raffle on Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th

December. Please see details further on in the newsletter.

Today your child will have come home with their End of term report. If you would

like to speak to your child’s class teacher about the report please contact the school

office to arrange a telephone appointment.

We have noticed that some of the girls are wearing leggings as part of their school

uniform. If your daughter wishes to wear trousers they are the traditional school

grey trousers. Leggings are permitted as part of the PE kit.

Just to make you aware on Tuesday 8th December there is a memorial service

taking place at the church at 12pm. It is anticipated that it will be clear before pick

up time but please be mindful of other car park users on this day.

Enjoy your weekend and see you all on Monday.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Maria Herbert

Christmas Week

In previous years, we have visited the Orchard

House Care Centre to sing carols for the

residents. It is a really lovely part of our

Christmas calendar and we are very sad to have

had to miss it due to Covid rules. To show the

Orchard House residents that we are thinking

of them this year, the children have decorated

some beautiful heart shaped Christmas

garlands, and will be sending home made cards

as well. Angela Harding visited us today to

collect the garlands and passed on thanks from

the staff and residents at the

Orchards. Hopefully we will be able to visit in

person again next year!
