Wisconsin Testing ProgramAudio Connection: 800.700.7784Access Code: 405127

Students enrolled in the 11th grade are eligible to test the ACT and ACT WorkKeys at public schools, public charter schools, and private schools participating in the Wisconsin Choice Program. 11th grade students are required to take the ACT with writing in the paper format. Students that take the ACT with writing with standard time or ACT-approved accommodations and receive valid scores may choose to send their scores to up to four higher education institutions for free. 11th grade students are also required to take the ACT WorkKeys assessment in the paper format. Students that take the ACT WorkKeys assessment with standard time or eligible accommodations and receive valid scores are eligible to earn a Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum National Career Readiness Certificate.

• January 27 – February 22– Manage Examinee Information & Submit Additional Orders

ACT will automatically submit an additional order for your school if a student with a TAA PIN is transferred from another Wisconsin school into your school, or if a late accommodation request is approved and a TAA PIN is added to a student record.

An email communication is planned for the second week of February explaining how to download an extract of all students with a TAA PIN receiving ACT-approved accommodations.

If non-college reportable alternate formats are needed, you may place an order for those materials within PearsonAccessNext now through February 22. In addition, if your student enrollment count increases significantly, so that the standard overage of standard time materials will not suffice to test all students, you may submit a request to enroll new students and submit an additional order request. Please note that barcode labels will not be created for these additional orders. For the ACT test, materials for accommodations students are provided based on the approval of a student’s request within the TAA system. As approvals continue to occur, ACT will continue to add TAA PINs to the student record within PearsonAccessnext. If we add a TAA PIN, we will also automatically submit an additional order for you to receive the accommodations materials. In addition, if a student transfers from one Wisconsin school to another Wisconsin school and they have approved accommodations, the TAA PIN on their student record will be transferred with them and we will submit an additional order for you to receive materials for that student. You can check on the status of any order for your school under the Setup menu and selecting Orders & Shipment Tracking.

A small overage of accommodations test booklets was automatically added to your ACT materials order if you have students testing with ACT-approved accommodations. This overage is meant to be used for non-college reportable test administrations, if needed.

Managing Examinee Information and Additional Orders

Refer to the email titled ACT State and District Testing: Submitting Additional Orders sent January 27 for instructions on how to place an order for more non-college reportable materials.

Audio Connection: 800.700.7784Access Code: 405127

If you have students testing with ACT-approved accommodations at your school, a small overage of accommodations test booklets was added to your initial materials order, and are meant to be used for non-college reportable test administrations for the ACT test, if needed. If you need alternate format materials (like large print or braille) or additional extended time accommodations materials beyond the overage sent for students testing with non-college reportable accommodations, you will need to place an additional order for these materials before the 22nd of February.

Completing Non-Test PortionsAudio Connection: 800.700.7784Access Code: 405127

For the ACT test, examinees must complete the non-test portions on the answer document before test day. The non-test portions include basic identifying information, high school course & grade information, and the ACT interest inventory. Instructions are included in the test administration manual for completing this information, and the examinees will need to refer to the “Taking the ACT” booklet to complete some of the information. At a minimum, identifying information must be completed in order for score reports to be received. If an examinee chooses not to complete any of the other non-test sections, remind them that the score report that ACT sends to colleges will be partially blank. For the ACT, if information isn’t filled out before test day, examinees will need to be scheduled for makeup testing and complete the information before the makeup test date For the ACT WorkKeys test, the non-test information can be completed before test day or on test day. You may have students complete both the ACT and ACT WorkKeys non-test portions in one sitting before test day. If completing ACT WorkKeys non-test information on test day, this must be the first information completed, and examinees may not be allowed to revisit the non-test portions after testing completes.

The initial test date for the ACT test for 11th graders testing standard time will be on February 28 and makeup testing will occur on March 21. Students testing with ACT-approved or non-college reportable accommodations may test within a two week testing window, from February 28 – March 14, excluding weekends. The initial test date for ACT WorkKeys for standard time testing is March 1 and makeup testing will occur on March 22. Students testing with WorkKeys accommodations may test within a two week testing window, excluding weekends, from March 1-15. The Makeup Test Date is provided for you to test students who were unable to test on the initial test date. ACT will work with a school on a case-by-case basis in the event a student testing with accommodations requires another test date outside of the two-week window provided. There is also an emergency test date of April 19 for the ACT test and April 20 for the ACT WorkKeys test. These dates can only be used for testing if approved by the Wisconsin department of public instruction, in the case of a spring break conflict or due to an inclement weather or other emergency that may occur during the initial or makeup test dates. If your school is approved to use the emergency testing days, you will need to order testing materials between March 21 -31 – the window listed on your Schedule of Events.

Timing the TestsAudio Connection: 800.700.7784Access Code: 405127

Accurate timing of the test is very important to ensure the students and your school, district, and state receive valid scores. Each testing room must be timed individually by the room supervisor, not from a central location in the school building. The room supervisor is responsible for listing the start and stop times for each test on the timing report form within the Test Administration Forms Folder, and returning all of the forms within this folder back to the test coordinator after testing completes.

Examinees testing with standard time must test separately from examinees testing with accommodations. In addition, examinees testing with ACT-approved accommodations should test in a separate room from examinees with non-college reportable accommodations. Students testing with accommodations may be approved to test with a specific timing code. These examinees can only test in the same room with students testing with an identical timing code. If students with different timing codes test in the same room, test scores will be invalidated by ACT. In addition, some types of accommodations require an individual test administration. Refer to your accommodations testing manual for more specifics on how to test students with various accommodations and timing codes.

Refer to your Administration Supplements for how to complete the State Use Questions. These documents are posted on your program website and are printed and shipped with your test materials.

As stated earlier, State Use Questions 1-4 for the ACT are questions read aloud during the pre-test session and the examinee bubbles responses to these questions on their answer document. State Use Question #5 for the ACT is found in PearsonAccessNext and a reason code should be selected by the test coordinator for examinees that did not take the ACT. For ACT WorkKeys, there are no additional questions the examinee is asked to respond to. State Use Question #1 for ACT WorkKeys is found in PearsonAccessNext and a reason code should be selected by the test coordinator for examinees that did not take ACT WorkKeys. The two administration supplements for the ACT and ACT WorkKeys contain specific instructions for how to indicate a student did not test within the PearsonAccessNext system.
