Art AccentAs the title “Art Accent” possesses multiple
meanings including diction, characteristic,
emphasize, and others, the program is comprised
of exhibitions of local artists whose commercial
values are underrated yet their potentials as well
as artistic values are well recognized in the market.
The participating artists in 2013 Art Accent includes
Kang Tae-hun, Kim Sung-cheol, Park Sung-ran, Park
Jae-hyun, Seo Pyeong-ju, Shin Mu-kyeong, Sim
Jeom-hwan, Sim Jun-seop, Lee Gwang-gi, Lee Sun-
kyung, Lee Chil-hyo, and Hong Won-seok who have
been chosen by independent producer Kim Sung-
yeon. Artworks using a variety of materials and
sources by the artists were presented in accordance
with the concept of the program and positive
feedback has been received in terms of freshness
and aesthetic value. A total of 16 purchases were
made at both domestic and foreign galleries which
confirmed the new potential of the art market.
Art BridgeArtworks were presented inside the Gureum bridge
which links BEXCO Exhibition Centers 1 and 2 in
order to attract visitors to Exhibition Center 2 and
add festival atmosphere to the show. The exhibition
links the popular arts to the fine arts as the bridge
links the two buildings. Marie Kim was selected to
present her works in this year, who has worked in
collaboration with public brands and pop singers
based on dolls with big eyes based on images of idol
girls as the motive. The artist made beach balls and
panels in accordance with idol images and installed
the artworks under the title of “War and things that
have been left”. Apart from Marie Kim, 11 artists
displayed their artworks that are selected according
to the concept of the exhibition and received
positive evaluation in terms of freshness and
artistry. A total of 16 purchases have been made at
domestic and foreign galleries which confirmed the
new potential of the art market.

Art CollectorFollowed by Miyatsu Daisuke’s collection exhibition
in 2012, this year the program hosted a collection
exhibition by collector Shin Ok-jin who is one
of the giant pillars in the Korean art market and
has donated multiple artworks to museums. The
classical items that Shin have collected over the last
40 years displayed the essence of modern art.
Art LoungeUnder the title of Outopia, this year’s Art Lounge
was directed by producer Jeong Young-suk, which
presented artworks by Artists Yun Jung-won and Yu
young-ho in the VIP Lounge space. Art people have
shown interest in Yun’s works and audiences were
mesmerized by Yu’s art.
Art Foci“Foci”, which is the plural form of focus, is the
section which selects one male and one female
artists whom Art Show Busan focuses to introduce
each year. This year’s Art Foci hosted the solo
exhibitions by Artist Ahn Gyeong-yun whose work
is based on paper art and Artist Jang Seung-hyo
who is renowned for photo collages. Ahn Gyeong-
yun was the highest scoring prize recipient at last
year’s Asia Artist Award and Jang Seung-hyo is an
artist famous for collaboration with fashion brands
and Art Piano in TV drama.
Art PerformanceArt Performance was devised to raise interest in and
awareness of performance art among the public
as the genre had gained little popularity within
the market. The program is organized in a guerilla
fashion where performers concealed themselves
in the audience and surprised them with exotic
masks and unexpected dances. In particular, the
performance “Ready to Dance?” lured some of the
audience to dance on the stage which heated the
show.year’s Asia Artist Award and Jang Seung-hyo
is an artist famous for collaboration with fashion
brands and Art Piano in TV drama.
Art PremiumArt Premium was organized with the purpose
to increase the brand power of Art Busan Show
through introducing artworks by premium class
artists. This year, for the first time in Busan, the
program has presented artworks by internationally
renowned video artist Baek Nam-jun, and Shin
Mee-kyoung who is one of the most promising Asia
artists at the moment.

Art ShareArt Share is a unique form of exhibition which would
not be seen at any other art fairs. It was designed to
help the poor through art. 2013 Art Share hosted an
exhibition by Bob Jang who has actively participated
in community and social volunteering activities. The
program had the raffle ticket lucky draw session for
audience and the fund from the draw was donated
to Child Fund in the Busan area. This year’s lucky
draw winner is Lee Sung-min, a student living in
Busan.

Art 3DWhile there is a tendency that 2D artworks
dominate art fairs, this section presents 3D artworks
including sculpture, media art, and etc. This year, it
displayed a variety of premium sculpture artworks
from both domestic and foreign galleries under
Lee Won-ju’s curating. The program provided an
opportunity to view modern sculptures in one place.
The program was comprised of group and solo
exhibitions.

Six lectures were given with the theme of Art Talk during the show, which were prepared by collectors, artists, and curators in
the form of presentation and conversation. Art Talk was designed for non-professional visitors and it has received satisfactory
feedback from audience as well as professional art people. Lecturers with public fame especially tended to have more people
and longer Q&A sessions. The absence of lectures for collectors and professional academic programs for art people was

organized information on artists and artworks that the participating galleries desired to promote so that it
could provide satisfactory services to both audiences and galleries.

Specialist ProgramThe show has arranged a program for VIP clients, in which 3 specialists provide customized art consulting
service based on their interest and preference. As well as explanations on artists and artworks, the program
offered latest news on the art market and future forecast on the international trend. Overall, it has increased
the purchase power and interest of clients through providing information on the process of artwork, its art-
historic side as well as its investment side.
