Calling

3’ by 4’, Oil Painting – Calling took me several months to complete while I was taking painting lessons at a cultural center.

Leading

2’ by 4’, Oil Painting – Leading also was painted while at the cultural center, but I finished most of the painting at home. This piece was painted as a gift.

Stallion Battle

2’ by 3’, Oil Painting – About half of Stallion Battle was painted at the cultural center and the other half at home. My smallest paint brush had the most brush strokes on these horses.

Stallion Battle is perhaps one of my favorite pieces. Mostly because I love horses, but I also like how the piece turned out, the colors, and the energy created by the horses. The brown stallion was the easiest because its skin did not have all the reflections that the white one had.

Detail Study

2’ by 3’ Oil Painting Class project where we took a detailed picture and painted what we saw. The idea would be that it would be a such microscopic view of a realistic picture that it would look abstract.

Dolly Madison

Scratchboard –Was an Illustration project of a historical scene. This is Dolly Madison rescuing George Washington’s portrait. This piece was the first time I ever worked with scratchboard and was a bit of an experiment.

At Midnight Charcoal – At Midnight was a class project for Illustration class. I wished to capture a sense of mystery in the people and the destination, hinting at Charon , the Styx ferryman, and the Grim Reaper for the standing figure, and a Viking gondola for the boat.

Assassin

Charcoal – Assassin was a class project on creating a character.

To create a portrait of this character I wanted to suggest mystery and deadliness.

At the Pass

Charcoal – At the Pass is a continuation of the last project but set in a storyboard. This scene demonstrates the Assassin’s deadliness.
